Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Couric: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?

Palin: I've read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.

What a fucking stupid question to ask. If she hadn't wasted so much time Katie could have asked if the "first dude" wears boxers or briefs.

they ask presidents all the time what they read.

It was a Nerf Ball question that most people who can walk and chew gum at the same time could handle with no problem.

But not Palin.

Memo to Katie Couric: Next time, ask Sarah what her favorite color is.

"I was in Crawford and I said I was looking for a book to read and Laura said you ought to try Camus. I also read three Shakesepeares."

Right. They never asked Obama why he stiffed his visit to the wounded troops in Iraq and practiced his basketball 3-point shot instead, but this is news.

While it's a somewhat odd question, she could have just named whatever major paper they have in Juneau and been done with it. Although I can imagine that had she done that, there would be another story with a headline that "Palin gets all of her knowledge about global affairs from the Juneau Empire" or something similar.

Memo to Katie Couric: Next time, ask Sarah what her favorite color is.

My money is on 'white'.....

she reads Pride and Prejudice. Not the book, just the title.

I'm still surprised at how Palin has basically saved Couric's reputation for journalism.

*** Palin refuses to name papers, mags she reads ***

.......ignorant people do not read..........

........thats how they maintain their state of blissful ignorance, where opions matter more than facts.......

She reminds me more and more of the current occupant of the whitehouse every single day.

Uncle Karl must have wet himself to find another idiot like Lil Bush in the world.

she could have just named whatever major paper they have in Juneau

That would presuppose that she had actually read the newspaper and knew it's name.

I am guessing she is not proud of her subscription to "Snow Machine Weekly".

When you get all your news from Fox on TV or Rush or the other right wing wackos on the radio it is hard to actually have to remember the names of some of those old fashioned paper things.

We know what is on hussein's reading list:

1. Koran
2. Wife's Harvard Thesis
3. Communist Manifesto
4. Daily KOS
5. DRUDGE RETORT

Elcid,

That was just brilliant. Wow.

Since you talk about all three on the regular, I guess you and Obama have alot in common.

I think Billy El Cid is trying to stick to the tried and - er - true Repub formula: Barack is a "commie" (quaint old label, there have been no commies for 20 years) or a "moose-lim" (an equal lie; he's a Congregational). Cidney surely has had few standards for comedy in his time, but I think he's now fallen short of any he may ever have set. Indeed, he'll probably label me stoopid as a reply to this post. herm

El Cid really tells it like it ain't.

Deflections aside, why are you STILL trotting out this tired old story when it has (repeatedly) been shown to be not true?"

Okay, then what does Obama read - I missed when he was asked this pertinent question.

Because he Obama-and that's all he's got-or can remember from the jeebus camp brainwashing....

OOPS!Hates Obama, sorry!

"They never asked Obama why he stiffed his visit to the wounded troops in Iraq"

Why would they need to, when the McCain camp had two commercials ready: one if he visited the troops (How dare he use the troops as backdrops!), and one if he, as you put it, "stiffed" them...?

It doesn't get much more cynical than that.

Because he Obama-and that's all he's got

Make sense, retard.

Wow, that was some devious trap Couric laid there:

"What do you read?

Everything.

Really, name something you've read?

(Oh shit)"

I bet if you put a paper bag over this simp's head she'd freeze like a scared animal until someone came and took it off.

"Make sense, retard."

He already corrected himself, dipshit.

He needs all the help he can get. Thanks for stepping up.

"ask Sarah what her favorite color is."

You assume her and John have discussed this. But I'm sure she'd agree with whatever, you know, John McCain says.

'm still surprised at how Palin has basically saved Couric's reputation for journalism.

When Couric has more gravitas than you do, you should worry.

First time Katie actually looked like she had a brain.
We all know she has a colon.

Is it possible that Palin didn't answer because if she did, the left would find a critical article of her and say it must be true she reads that paper? Just a thought.

The Phantom-
Or maybe she's an incurious idiot, and not fit to run the most complex and most powerful organization on earth.

i have a feeling that palin's reads jihadwatch.com

oh get a fuckin life...........once and for all.
those of us on the right listen and read much more than these places you cite.
leftists dont read or listen to NEARLY as diverse outlets as I and many others here do.
I force myself to watch cnn MANY TIMES MORE THAN FOX

Now I dont know why sarah didnt just come out and tell her what she reads, it would have been much better and simpler to just list some things,.......BUT WHAT THE FUCK DIFFERENCE does it really make.........

maybe she was remembering how the left and many of you here TOTALLY TWISTED AND LIED About bush when he talked about him not reading the paper and all that bullshit from that time........

more liberal jibberish that means absolutely nothing

I'm puzzled why she didn't just say she reads the National Review. Perfectly good answer for a Conservative and Republican. Would be more fun, though, if she'd said "Nation".

"I dont know why sarah didnt just come out and tell her what she reads."

Well, ahem. Any record of anyone ever having seen Sarah read anything? herm

I assume that BLT would try to tell us that Bush HAS read some paper. herm

And . . . had Palin said she reads "Newsweek", Couric would have asked what the cover story was two weeks ago.

I would love to conduct those interviews too. "Tell me, Senator Biden--can you name four Supreme Court cases you believe were wrongly decided, and explain why you think so?"

or

"Senator Biden, Governor Palin has been criticized by many on the left for serving as governor, while still the mother of young children. Do you believe that your service in the Senate, while being the widower father of two young boys, was a detriment to their upbringing? And if no, what is your opinion of those who say the same of Governor Palin?"

And so on.

""Tell me, Senator Biden--can you name four Supreme Court cases you believe were wrongly decided, and explain why you think so?""

A question only one of them could answer.

He couldn't either.

"He couldn't either."

Bwahahahahahahaha!

Luckily, I know you're kidding.

No, I'm not. Prove he can.

Biden's good at running his mouth, and filling up his allotted time with BS. Nothing else. Typical of most Senators.

Funny for what passes for intellect among the lefties. Blah blah blah.
