Stem cell research and now cell regeneration is bringing medical advancement into realms we could not dream of before.
Seriously, one reason I refuse to vote for McCain and Palin is because they will continue to follow the anti-stem cell research and hatred of science we have had to live under during the Bush years -- the most anti-science Administration in our history.
I got word two weeks ago that very close cousin of mine who just celebrated her 42nd birthday in August has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Do you think I would ever vote for another President and VP who, like Bush, will fight any possible chance of her ever getting a cure because they will continue to cater to the far rightwing fundementalists who have fought advancing stem cell research every step of the way?
It didn't matter to the far right Fundementalists if the embryo stem cells to be used for medical research would have been disgarded anyway and had nothing to do with abortion. Nope. They just said "no research allowed" because of their own narrow religious beliefs and Bush went along with them for their votes.
ANYONE who has any family member or friend who suffers from any of a thousand illnesses which might have a chance for a cure in the near future if stem cell research is allowed to progress, then they better think long and hard before they put more backward, scientific-ignorant persons in the White House.
McCain and Palin are perfect examples of two persons who, if elected, will continue obstruct medical scientific research using stem cells all because of their own, selfish religious beliefs and desire for votes from a particular religious following. Can we Americans afford delaying possible cures for millions of people because of that kind of ignorant mind-set being in the White House for another eight years? NO.
