Time for you all to do some civic duty here, folks --
All of us debating the bailout bill grand theft scheme here on DR means squat.
Get on the phone and call your Congressperson.
I call my Senator two days ago and today called Congressman Adam Schiff to say what I thought about Bush's bailout scheme. (##$@&$&!!!### -- no, I was polite. lol) His office told me had had already voted "No" on the bailout bill. I told them I was glad to hear it.
YOU NEED TO DO THIS. Because the election is so close they are finally listening to the voters.
Most American voters in both parties do not want this scam bailout to go through.
I looked up a website for you so you all could get the phone number of your local Congressperson and linked it at the end. The website said they were getting 100 hits PER MINUTE yesterday from people wanting to get phone numbers to call their Congressman.
Call and tell your Congressman/woman to vote "NO" on the bailout bill and if they tell you they already voted "No" then thank them for making the right decision.
Pelosi intends to bring the bailout bill back tomorrow when they get back to Congress. CALL TODAY!
We can see by the stock market up over 200 points today that Bush's whining about an economic Armageddon was a bunch of bull. Let Wall Street take out loans if they need money to get thru for awhile. I don't intend to just hand them over $700 billion of our tax money.
Get off your butts and call your own Congressperson -- particularly the House member.
If you have never called their office before, don't be intimidated. You'll just get a staffperson and they'll ask your name and address and then just tell them:
"I am a registered voter who lives in Congressman __(name)_____'s district. I am not with any special interest group. I want to tell Congressman _(name)____ that I am very much against Bush's bailout bill being proposed -- in any form -- and I want him to please vote "NO" on the bailout bill. The bill should be scrapped entirely and is an insult to every taxpaying American."
Or -- say whatever you want.
