John McCain and his top aides took credit for building a winning bailout coalition -- hours before the vote failed and stocks tanked. "Without Sen. McCain, House Republicans would not have appointed a negotiator, which would not have moved this bill forward," McCain communications director Jill Hazelbaker said Monday morning. "It's really Sen. McCain who got all parties around a table to hammer out a deal

Earth to McCain . . .
Earth to McCain . . .

I suppose MR McSames influence ended after everyone sat down with him. I would think whatever influence he had in the past, he has used it now.

Are there still people in the US that will vote for this lying sack of old bones?

As I said elsewhere McCain now blames Obama. It's his catch-all excuse now - he seems to think Obama has been running the country for a while.

(And soon he will be!)

George senior and Babs didn't know they had an older son. Junior and McCain have much the same way of doing things. If something fails, point fingers and say "He(they) did it, not me". If by some near miracle something works, "That was my plan".

Mcsame is looking more Mcsame every time his mouth is in gear.

You mean like Bush?

Many will believe what media monopolies are paid to broadcast.

George W Bush has just been given his "Financial Communion" name to match his father's initials:

George HOOVER Walker Bush

Neither took credit..

trust me. they will greet us as liberators. works every time.

McLame? "Premature Projectionator"?
Why do I get the impression that's not all he's "premature" with?

Maybe he's having sooo much trouble 'cause his "trollup" is busy lookin' for someone to finish what he can't?

"Obama proven overly optimistic"
"Obama's prepared remarks, from earlier today in Colorado."
"And today, Democrats and Republicans in Washington have agreed on an emergency rescue plan that is our best and only way to prevent an economic catastrophe."

"After seeing the bill fail, Obama scapped the originial script and talked of Rocky Mountain-like turbulence"

Good job McBama.

Maybe when you are president you can de-complish more unconstitutional bills like this one.

Way to screw up and do the right thing.

How did your Congress man vote?

With 7 - 12% of the people supporting this (from 3 diffrent polls) it would appear that these 205 people who voted for it need to be fired. They are not listing to their constituents.

I think he'd actually be worse than the monkey-in-a-man-suit.

code for chimp as president;

jump up and down, eat flee = send in the vp

shit on hand and throw it on a picture of lbj = i hate fucking liberals.

pick nose and scratch his ass at the same time = we need a bailout

so, that's how gwb does it, i don't know what a monkee would do.

Bill Clinton started the Freddie and Fannie problem by pressuring them to give loans to unqualified applicants. It was defended by the likes of Barney Franks and Maxine Waters during a 2004 hearing --- they stalled oversight and regulation into F and F.

McCain now can put this on Obama's neck and move on to the White House as the 44th President.

Should have realised McSame couldn't deliver...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!

The economic fate of the country lies in this Bill and we're not playing along because someone made us sad.

-House Republicans

The economic fate of the country lies in this Bill and we're not playing along because someone made us sad.

Now this is sad, the political left talking points has got this person to actually think that the fate of our country's economy lies with this bill.

How messed up this country really is. So party blinded, that they can't seemed to go out and actually do as much information gathering about REAL subject matter, but would rather spend the time finding information about which party is worse.

No wonder all our representatives are worthless for both partys.

McCain should realize, the bailout is way too much money for taxpayers. It's funny how more Dems actually supported the bailout than the GOP. Bush and Dems on the same side this issue, even Speaker Nancy voted for it...lol

Vote "NO" for any future bailout bill of billions of dollars!

pathetic deflection.

My friends, my dear friends, I'm a modest man, with much to be modest about. But I know one thing: I can take credit for the bill that didn't pass after I thought it passed, and in so doing have deftly seized defeat from the jaws of victory. That's not tactics, my friends, that's strategy.

Sure, the economy's in the commode. . .it might even be in the oubliette or the keep, wrapped around the portcullis, stuck in an arrow slit, sequested somewhere within the enceinte, resting in the bailey, or otherwise situated in some other area or feature of those medieval castles I used to visit to watch ye olde jousting tournaments. Heh, heh, that was just joke.

But, I mean, who cares? Do what I do: make up an alternate reality and don't just think about it, but go and live there.

Enjoy your day in the wrecked economy, you little fundamentals you.

~John "My Hair's On Fire" McCain

Little Jack Horner sat in the corner
Eating his Christmas pie,
He put in his thumb and pulled out a plum
And said "What a good boy am I!"

The economic fate of the country lies in this Bill and we're not playing along because someone told the truth.

Probably not the smartest move she ever made but every word she said was true.

The economic crisis reminds me more and more of Iraq, it seems most Republicans say, "never mind how we got here, we have to deal with the way things are today." They want Democrats to conveniently be silent about the causes for the melt down and just deal now with how to fix it. That isn't going to happen, the Republicans are going to be deservedly hammered with this for a long time, hopefully it will cost MANY their seats in Congress. Assuredly, it will insure George Bush's legacy as worst president in history.

Re takitez's little deflection... he was advising us awhile back that Palin will "eat Biden's lunch" in their debate.

Obama is not showing any leadership here --- just skirting on the edge and hoping to pick brownie points, which is what he's been doing.

Obama brings rhetoric; McCain brings leadership.

If THIS doesn't show how completely and totally unsuited to the presidency Grampy Poopy Pants is - well - you kool aid drinkers are beyond rational thought. This old man thought he was rushing in to save the day - truly BELIEVED that he had won the good fight and here he is, taking credit before the vote was cast and is now standing with egg all over his puss, trying to figure out what happened. And BLAMING OBAMA! LOL! What, Obama made him say all those idiotic things? Made him brag about something that had not happened yet? GIVE ME A BREAK! This is the BEST the RNC could do for a candidate? Yikes!

Obama brings rhetoric; McCain brings leadership.

How dumb shit, give us one objective expample of that leadership that he has done in the past 2 weeks.

Give me one good objective expmple and I'll back off your lying mis-guided stupid ass all day long today. I promise.

"McCain brings leadership."

McCain had not ONE thing to say when he got to DC. His leadeship was exactly zero. He stood before cameras like a department store dummy.

And where has his leadership been as this problem grew over the past few years? Nowhere.

McCain LEADERSHIP???? How is that when he can't even lead his party to vote for a bill he supports???

GOP's like TAKITEZ must be like Trig Palin!!!

McBush couldn't even get the votes from his own state!

Now that is leadership!

"Obama brings rhetoric; McCain brings leadership."

Thank you, my dear friend Takitez.
You're right.
I suspended my non-suspended campaign before I reunsuspended it.
I vowed not to "phone it in" before I started phoning it in.
I took a leading role in not saying where I stood on the administration's ecnonomic proposal.
I declared I wouldn't go to the debate until a deal was in place, then went to the debate without a deal in place.
That's why I was able to take credit for the legislation before it died and the market tanked.
You think I'm a leader?
Well bless you, you're my kinda guy.

Maybe he should have hung back at first...ya know...keep campaigning as usual ...not get involved or tried "monitoring the situation"
Too bad "present" wasn't available...he could have just stood back sniping at the situation.

Maybe he should have hung back at first...ya know...keep campaigning as usual ...not get involved or tried "monitoring the situation"

Or did like Obama and used that new fangled thing Mr. Bell recently invented-the telephone. Or the thing McSame himself invented-the Blackberry. Face it Kerrin, McSame`s stunt did nothing, except make him appear erratic and desperate.
That he got his ass handed to him in DC by the Dems beforehand and by his own Party in the Vote just piles on `Not Ready to Lead`.

Why hasn't anyone raised the question whether McCain experienced brain damage as a POW. Research certainly demonstrates that trauma exposure can permanently damage the brain and impair functioning. Given his erratic behavior, anger outburst and poor judgment, this seems to be a very viable possibility. Another reason not to elect him president.

QUOTES BY OBAMA - yes indeed this ass clown is ready to govern!!!

This budget tells our veterans that if they want increased funding for the VA they'll have to pay for it themselves.

With the changing economy, no one has lifetime employment. But community colleges provide lifetime employability.

Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference.

"Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go."

Why hasn't anyone raised the question whether McCain experienced brain damage as a POW.

Bush did it in 2000. What makes you think the GOPpers gives a rats ass about their nominees brain function-Reagan had alzheimers and Bush2 was a dry drunk and they still love them. All a moron has to do is say he loves Jayzuzz and hates abortion and they can rise to the top of the GOP nominee toilet.

There is no failure on anyone part. (except for people in Washington to understand economics.)

The members of Congress that voted against this should deserve your consideration for reelection. Those that voted for it.. well..

Those that voted for it.. well..

So you'll be voting for Barr or Nader?

Since Mcsame was heroic in his efforts to pass this Bill, does that mean Republican conservatives won't vote for him?

I am voting 3rd party but I can not vote for either of them. I actually don't know who I am voting for but I will vote AGAINST the one party system and their candidate McBama.

This is what a NO CONFIDENCE vote is in America.

(I might vote for Baldwin but I don't agree with him on very much.. I might just flip a coin in the voting booth, who knows.. The important thing is either way I'm voting against the socialist republican policies and the socialist democrat policies.)

"(I might vote for Baldwin but I don't agree with him on very much.. I might just flip a coin in the voting booth, who knows.. The important thing is either way I'm voting against the socialist republican policies and the socialist democrat policies.)"

I completely respect your honesty here, but if you really want to say your voice/vote counted, pick someone you can back and write in the name.....I don't care if it's Sean Hannity, Richard Gere, Rush Limbaugh or Al Franken.....Here is your chance to say I voted for the person that I researched and that I support. What better way to buck the system than to vote it down.....I agree with your notion....if you can't support one of the two mainstream find someone you believe in and vote for him/her.

LM

I mean really out of McCain and Obama..

# What one is against bombing Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, or Afghanistan? We know McCain is for it.. but Obama has said many time he is also willing to use force in an endless and useless "war on terror".

# What one is against giving our money away to big banks? Nope, they both support it.. they blame the cause of the economic crises on each other and the lack of action.. but what is important is their solution is virtually the same.

# What candidate is against a socialist haircare system? Yes, John McCain wants to give you socialized heath care.. the right thing to do is get the government OUT of health care, government already spends 50% of the entire health care industry.

# What candidate will lower spending? Neither John McCain wants to give a tax cut, but without cutting something in government to pay for it all this accomplishes is stealing your money via inflation and not via taxes.

# What candidate wants to reduce the size of the military? Neither, Obama wants to increase the size of the military even in peace time.

# What candidate is against senseless global warming regulation? Neither, John McCain supports Cap and Trade a absolutely disastrous plan for our economy.

# What candidate is against national service? Neither. Obama wants youth core, education core, security core, and a ton or other crap that will eventually force people to work for the government.

And on and on and on..

Everyone seems to be distracted by the small shit this year.. Who is a muslim or who is experienced, or who has brain damage from being a pow.. I don't care who the fuck these guys are.. I care what they want to do.

I'm sorry, I'm for freedom.. I just cant stand watching my country turn into the Soviet Union. I'm going to say NO to this and I don't care if I'm the only one saying NO at this point. I'm putting my heels down and going against this kicking and screaming.

That is why I'm voting 3rd party.

UH Obama did too, nancy did too...

i love it...

As the November elections approach, lawmakers from both parties are under intense scrutiny -- and many were nervous about voting for a plan that risks so much taxpayer money without any definitive promise of success.

In the end, there were 205 votes cast in favor of the legislation and 228 against. Among Democrats, 140 voted in favor and 95 against. Among Republicans, 65 voted in favor and 133 against.

According to new analysis, banks and securities firms gave an average of 54% more over the past five years in campaign contributions to representatives who voted in favor of the rescue plan than to those who opposed it.

That analysis, from MAPLight.org, an online watchdog for the impact of political contributions on legislation, showed that representatives who voted for the plan received an average of $231,877, compared with $150,982 for those who voted against it.

Among Democrats, those in favor of the plan received an average of $212,700 each, almost twice the average of $107,993 for those who voted against it. Among Republicans, those who voted in favor received an average of $273,181 each -- 50% more than $181,688 for those who voted against the plan.
