Is American Leadership over?
Not yet.
America is still a powerhouse in many ways but the post WWII days when the US was the undisputed heavyweight champ of the world economically and militarily are long past.
Too many people around the globe are still invested in the idear that the US Dollar has to be strong but with the increasing liklihood of the death of the Petro Dollar w/i a decade and the increasingly unstable US economy standing as it does on unsustainable twin legs of deficits there are many in the world who are re-thinking their positions and adjusting their alliances accordingly.
Bottom line is you lead by example and the only kind of examples the world has seen from the US recently are bad ones.
Pre-emptive war.
Torture scandals.
Economic malfeasance.
Unbounded hubris.
"Do as I say not as I do" doesn't even work with children.
It certainly won't work with entire nations.
Deep rooted change must come if anything is expected to improve.
The corporate corruption of the US Government must be rolled back with vigour.
Eliminate all lobbyist contributions.
Reform campaign finance.
Work on bringing accountability and tranparency to the banking industry both internally and on a global scale.
Restore the checks and balances that BushCo have destroyed in their quest fer an all powerful executive.
All doable albeit difficult things.
Stormclouds are on the horizon.
Change must come soon or a hard rain is gonna fall.
Be Well.
