I call it the Trash-Can phenomenon. You put your trash out to the curb and someone comes along and takes it away. So it is gone now, hell almost magically disappeared. The point is that 'all that is taken care of'. We don't even have to acknowledge what happened to it when it left our yards.

Same with world government. As long as i can get my gallons of gas and my needs met, I don't have to acknowledge what is going on in the rest of the world. Plus, americans are to ill-educated to understand even if they did care.

it is also convenient to Israel. Nanc, the israel of the bible was not the same thing as the israel of today. The israel of today was created by the US and britian for strategic, military and economical purposes.

The whole religion thing is just a means to control the sheep.

We funnel them huge sums of money each year under both democratic and republican administrations for them to do what we say.

Israel can do a lot of things on the world market, as americas lackeys, because they don't have that pesky piece of paper - the constitution.

the evidence is based on the premise that the bible is; 1)a historic document and 2)literal or even mostly literal.

the bible is only a historic document as a snapshot in time. it was written in the poetry that passed for language in those days. Modern people, really in the past 200 yrs, have put the ideal that it should be interpreted literally.

before that, the old chatholic church, when common people couldn't read, only allowed priests to interpret the words.

Now, the ideal of Israel is a financial and economic and strategic ideal. the country is not the same as the israel in the bible anyway. but if you are a literal interpretor, you cannot admit this simple fact.

the israel in the bible is a methaphor for the land of his chosen people.

the israel today is a political entity. I would think, based on you own religion, you will be ok and go to heaven, as long as you believe whatever you believe, regardless of whether we maintain Israel as our largest welfare recipient or not.

Without Israel, we have a significant reduction in military power in the region. But that doesn't have anything to do with anybobys eternal salvation.
