Hohum, the liberals having a field day ripping Palin.
The good news is that her introduction brought hugh dividends for McCain and they are sticking for the most part.
That said, she will still be Vice President come 2009, but she is going through times of humility so as not to be overwhelmed with power.
A few gaffes, alright. But she can still redeem herself. Her handlers should coach her some political language. When giving speeches, let her loose, she has something Reaganite about her. But interviews and debates, she has to hone her political language.
Dos and don'ts....
1. Repeat the ebay thing, with modification --- that you first tried to sell the plane on Ebay, though it was sold elsewhere. Keep sharing it.
2. Forget to enhance your resume with Alaska's proximity to Russia. Everybody knows it, and still love you. Embellishing will not help.
3. About the $700 billion bailout? Borrow McCain's language --- amost word for word. Don't worry. Even Obama borrows plenty, but only rephrase to appear different.
4. Know the voting record of Biden and Obama and learn to phrase them in ways the ordinary folks can connect. If Biden bring a charge against you, in a few cases, levelling back another charge against him will help, before answering the charge first. (That's how debates work).
Smile. Even throw a few funny lines, for example, "I realised that living near Russia may not terribly enhance my knowledge of foreign policy, but folks in Alaska can really see Russia." (It is common knowledge already and folks will love you for it, for the modesty and the humor.)
5. Bush doctrine. If it comes up, turn it into laughter: "I put Bush's doctrine on the map." You see, this is how supposed weakness of yours can be turned into endearment for you --- of course, the liberal critics in the media will taunt you, but the common folks will love you and vote for you.
6. Keep using the word liberal to describe Obama and Biden: liberal in taxes and social issues.
7. Keep in your repertoire that Obama's own colleagues (including Biden) have said that Obama is seeking an on the job training presidency. And that you have more executive experience than both O and B.
That's all for now.....
