well it is a good thing the repubs stopped it.
the dems want it, they have the majority to pass it, and you know a hand full of repubs will vote with them, so why dont they put it on the floor for a vote?????????????

So, President Bush and Secretary Paulson are now DEMOCRATS?
Bush and his administration are the ones who came up with this three page plan that gives away your tax dollars. Most of the three pages have to do with there not being any investigations or questions allowed as to where the money is going. I guess we should just 'trust' Bush with 700 billion?
The Dems are calling for a review of all default mortgages with the intention of re-writing them at a lower rate to be able to keep people in their homes, oversight (something McCain despises) and most of all, an assurance that the tax payer is not throwing his/her money away with out getting something in return, such as high interest on the their investment in Wall Street.
Why put it on the floor when all the president is going to do is Veto it?
Bush wants everyone to work together.........only if it means blindly accepting his THREE PAGE PROPOSAL for the SINGLE LARGEST TAX DOLLAR GIVEAWAY IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES!
THREE PAGES! ............and it took McCain at least 48 hours to read it!
