"I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war," he has said throughout this campaign. Yet, in choosing Palin, he has demonstrated -- whatever his words -- it may be permissible to imperil the country, conceivably even to "lose" it, in order to win the presidency. That would seem the deeper meaning of his choice of Palin.

Bernstein? Who the fuck cares about the opinion of a symphony conductor?

You Liberals are desperate to praise any fucking celebrity when they fit your agenda.

John McCain of old would be ashamed of the John McCain of today. The John McCain of old would declare Sarah Palin a very bad choice.

Larry

Isn't THIS Bernstein the SAME Bernstein that worked with Bob Woodward during Watergate??

Not according to my calculations he isn't.
Gotta run now.
Tongs are getting restless.

Watching McSame go down is like watching a turd swirl around and down the toilet bowl, only Mcsame smells worse.

Did Palin always use verbs in her interview with Couric? I'm not at all sure.

What's more interesting is that some Republican viewers found Gidget's performance "refreshing". If a Democrat said that, it would be irony.

Well, compared to some of the "monkey-in-a-man-suit's"-she almost was......

Absolutely, let's just turn our political system over and make it a beauty contest.

the dallas cowboy cheerleaders can run the fed, hef's ladies can run the white house (in little french maid outfits of course).

You are really really pathetic when this is the only good thing you can say about the McSame/Palin ticket.

Clinical depression is often accompanied by heightened risk taking and irrational behavior. This is just another symptom of a medically unqualified candidate and of a real problem as to when a candidacy is so fraught with risks and gimmicks that it is dangerous.

(I don't know how we can do it, but we need a new set of qualifications for persons to serve as top dog and VP in future campaigns. Otherwise, it looks increasingly likely that attractive know-nothings will be elevated to candidate status with nothing more to show for themselves than the ability to be backed by high worth special interest groups. Electing presidents and leaders shouldn't be like NASCAR!)

Vern's calculator has him alive and well until 2017...

They say that in politics you have to give up yer principles to gain the power.

The idea being that you are merely suspending them until you do gain the power.

But then, when you finally do get the power, you've been bent fer so long you've fergotten wot those principles are.

This is John McCain.

That's wot too much "experience" in DC buys you.

That's wot Cheney and Rumsfeld and the rest of the BushCo brain trust had in spades.

Do Not Want.

G08ama!

Be Well.
