U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens, the Alaska Republican on trial for corruption charges, did not know that an oil company was paying for improvements on his home.

Wasn't Stevens the least bit curious as to how the remodeling work got done on his home and who was paying for it? Did he think leprechauns and elves snuck in and worked on his place during the night when everyone was asleep? What a moron.

"They just came in and started puttin' in carpet and what-not. Who was I to ask them anything?"

Alaskan republcan gets home remodeled by oil comp.

I would probably have chosen an interior decorator for the job.

Teddy ain't the only corrupt Alaska GOPper. No wonde she hasn't filed her financial info with the FEC or released her tax records.:

laska Gov. Sarah Palin, who has made a crackdown on gift-giving to state officials a centerpiece of her ethics reform agenda, has accepted gifts valued at $25,367 from industry executives, municipalities and a cultural center whose board includes officials from some of the largest mining interests in the state, a review of state records shows.

The 41 gifts Palin accepted during her 20 months as governor include honorific tributes, expensive artwork and free travel for a family member. They also include more than $2,500 in personal items from Calista, a large Alaska native corporation with a variety of pending state regulatory and budgetary issues, and a gold-nugget pin valued at $1,200 from the city of Nome, which lobbies on municipal, local and capital budget matters, documents show.

About a quarter of the entities bestowing gifts on the governor are represented by one of Alaska's most influential mining lobbyists, who said in an interview that she was not involved in the tributes.

How is this even possible? A corrupt Republican?

I am shocked!

NOT!

Spare us the whitespace, ok?

It's really fucking annoying.

Oil Co; we need some throw pillows over here, for those cozy evenings with 'the boys'. And some lamaize cutains and a big statue of a male flamenco dancer.

Stevens; you fellers are real nice.

Oil co; (blushing)

Stevens; what do i need to do for all this?

Oil Co; Zippppp (the sound of a zipper). You are a republican ain't you?
