The scary aspect of this revelation is how it now passes as a quasi non-revelation. Nothing will be done, no one will be held accountable and half the population in the states now agrees with torture as an acceptable measure.

Whenther or not anyone any Gitmo "deserved" to be tortured (a point I am not conceding, by the way), the fact that the US has openly accepted the use of torture means we cannot credibly criticize others when they do it to our troops.
