If the trooper in question in Troopergate were not her brother-in-law it would not have happened. Palin's firing of Bitney, an old friend, may have been due to him having an affair with the wife of another close friend of hers and her husband. Her conversations about book banning, charging for rape kits that include a morning after pill, etc...these are all outgrowths out of her religious beliefs and personal relationships.
