While they have been liberal and blinkered in their worldview for decades, in 2007-08, for the first time, the major media consciously are covering for one candidate for president and consciously are knifing the other. This is no longer journalism; it is simply propaganda

Sure am glad there are some fair balanced approaches to the news, such as Rush Rimjob and Sean Hannity.

Don't forget Newsmax........

"Sure am glad there are some fair balanced approaches to the news"

Why is it that the left always tries to paint hannity or rush as "news"? They always have and always will be political commentary.

"Why is it that the left always tries to paint hannity or rush as "news"? They always have and always will be political commentary."

Then Hannity shouldn't use the phrase "fair and balanced", since you're admitting his show is anything but, and Rush should stop claiming he's telling the truth.

His show is OPINION, he can claim whatever he like if he believes he is fair then, fine, let him say it. I won't stop maddow from saying she is anything but a political hack, i know she only speaks for the lunatic fringe same goes for areiana huffington or the folks at the daily kos. Thats why i find it so funny that the left constantly attacks the rights talk show hosts and pretend that they have none of their own with fault. Grow up, listen to what you want, read what you want, decide for yourself don't just regurgitate what you said or heard or you are no better then the pundits you hate.

What right does The New York Times have to reveal that John McCain's campaign manager took mone from Freddie Mac, to the tune of nearly $2 million?

Or that the company of which he is at least part owner has been paid over $500,000 since the end of 2005 to...to do...to do God only knows what, other than perpetuate his access to McCain?

Concentrate on the issues, for Chrissake.

See this pea? I'm gonna place it under one of these three shells. Now, watch closely . . .

Ever so sincerely yours,

~McCain's Lobbyists, uh, Campaign

Yes, please, insert your fingers into your ears, lest you hear "bad news."
Put sleeping masks over your eyes, lest you see "bad news."
Don't forget that closepeg over your nose, lest you get a whiff of the smell of this campaign.
News, baaaaaaad.
~John "I Can't Believe I'm Getting Away With This" McCain

That's pretty much the only barometer at Fox, isn't it....

STFU. The Republican Party owns FOX News Channel. AM radio spews rightwingradio Republican propaganda virtually nonstop Monday-Friday and about half the time at weekends. MSNBC is about half as partisan for Dems as FOX is for Republicans. CNN is all about pretty girls and boys reading off the teleprompter interspersed with the likes of Glenn Beck doing his subpar O'Reilly.

PBS and the traditional commercial networks devote less and less time to news and fall over backwards to be evenhanded sometimes to the point of absurdity. Sometimes the other side of the issue, whether it favors a left or right perspective, is just a waste of time and space. All viewpoints are NOT equal.

The right has very successfully made boogeymen of what it choooses to call the MSM and Hollyweird. Getting elected on that basis and not on the basis of competence, honesty and respect for America, its constitution and its people has led us into the catastrophe that we all currently "enjoy".

STFU.

I don't know. It is not like Rush have ever labeled himself "America's Truth Detector".

"That's pretty much the only barometer at Fox, isn't it...."

See your buying into the crap the left spews. Fact of the matter is, fox is subject to the same liability that any other media outlet is. I have no doubt they have been wrong but i close my eyes to tightly to fail to see all the others doing it as well. So, i would invite you to show me how out of per portion fox's retractions are compared to any other network. If that does not make your case then you will need to admit it is a matter of opinion which is best and which is worst. I will not say their is any unbiased reporting as far as networks go, but from what i have seen fox is no more then any other.

I don't know. It is not like Rush have ever labeled himself "America's Truth Detector".

So he calls himself a truth detector and that some how obligates the left to paint him as "news"? Interesting...

" BlueInBushland"

Keep telling yourself that and maybe one day even you will believe it.

Even as Gov. Palin and John McCain avoid any and all reporters questions we hear that Obama is being given a pass???? I know fifty times more about the positions of BArack Obama than I do of the mysterious Sen. McCain who rejects his own record and tries to sell himself today as a non-Republican reformer, the deregulator who is now the regulator.
Gov. Palin's fear of reporters is legend, and it boggles the mind to see supporters cheering her while she refuses to even tell them where she stands on important issues of the day.

That article was ridiculous.

"One can only hope that the senior journalists will be judged as harshly for their professional misconduct as Wall Street's leaders currently are for their failings."

Which is an interesting way of saying "not at all."

Why is it that the left always tries to paint hannity or rush as "news"?

YEAH!

Could be the Intro that says "Hardest Hitting News and Election Coverage on the Air" that makes people think "news".

So in other words you're stupid and believe everything the TV or radio tells you?
How many "As Seen on TV" products do you own CocoSamVille?

Why is it that the left always tries to paint hannity or rush as "news"? They always have and always will be political commentary.

YEAH!

Except he says "NEWS" in his advertments, not OPINION or TRUTH DETECTOR!

"Sean Hannity The Best, The Hardest Hitting, The Most Comprehensive NEWS, Information, & Election Coverage On Your Radio"

Once again we get a ridiculous display of how those that relish the thought of holding some accountable for every word uttered, rush in to defend someone for the Words they themselves Utter!

A Testament to the depravity of what's left of conservatism in this country!

"From his Show, in his own Words!"

So i assume that if a chucky cheese had newspapers in their place they are a news organization? Still have not figured out that one item in a list of contents does not dictate the product? Well i think i'll go have a can of high fructose corn syrup, cause that what it says it contains.

Once again we get a ridiculous display of how those that relish the thought of holding some accountable for every word uttered, rush in to defend someone for the Words they themselves Utter!

Seeing as though you missed it the first time Cocosamville, I'll repeat...
So in other words you're stupid and believe everything the TV or radio tells you?

I thought clowns like you accused the "right" of buying in to everything the AM radio told them? Apparently it's only dumbshit lefties that do.

"So i assume that if a chucky cheese had newspapers in their place they are a news organization?"

YEAH!
Only if they advertised themselves as "News" in their sales pitch.

But congratulation on a good comparison!

"Sean Hannity The Best, The Hardest Hitting, The Most Comprehensive NEWS, Information, & Election Coverage On Your Radio"

SalamAndAGator,

I do believe it. I realize I'm in a minority, so effective have twenty years of right wing propaganda and general dereliction of duty, lack of courage and resolution shown by so many of our news outlets been. I sense a small turning of the tide because of the total uselessness, cronyism, corruption and arrogance of the Bush administration but as far as I'm concerned it is too little. But hopefully enough and not too late.

Sure am glad there are some fair balanced approaches to the news, such as Rush Rimjob and Sean Hannity.

Rush and Sean do not present the news. They are commentators.

Feel better now?

"o effective have twenty years of right wing propaganda"

There is a difference between party bias and capitalizing on the ability to dissent. That is what i believe is the case for many legitimate journalists but there are quite a few that knowingly or not push their politics using their media. It is unfair to say the media has been dominated by the right as study after study has shown the opposite to be true. This however depends on you definition of right or left as this line has blurred. As you close on the extremes everything will seem to the opposite side but in the end you will chose the outlet that best fits your world view.

The article has a lot of merit. The other side of the fence is maybe too well known. Obama may not be the ideal man for the office at this time but, the alternative is to scary to think on at length.

This whole presidential election sucks from top to bottom. There has got to be many better qualified candidate the either of the two offered. If this isn't true then we are in for one depressing future.

The next for years can be great for the USA. It can also continue on as is and we will suffer.

How in hell have we gotten ourselves into such a position?

Rush says whatever gets him mileage that day. He describes what he does in whatever way gets him mileage that day.

Rush is about mileage; he's about his act---His schtick. He's so flexible in his approach to "entertainment" he could give himself a blowjob.

He's the perfect rubber man extolling perfect rubber values.

Good post and right on the money, zed.

The other day
Upon the stair

I saw a man
Who wasn't there

He wasn't there
Again today

I wish that he
Would go away

He's so flexible in his approach to "entertainment" he could give himself a blowjob.

He's the perfect rubber man extolling perfect rubber values.

You know the old one--Why does a dog lick his balls?

Because he can!!!

Either his weapon is of a movie caliber or he can make more money giving lessons in the art you attribute to him.

Kerrin lives in a different part of the country from me. The media I see is unwilling to push McBoob and Ms. Boobs into revealing their abysmal ignorance. The media could easily goad John into imploding on camera, or ask the floozie airhead questions that display her never having read a book. But protecting O'Bama? Just by reporting his message? herm

cool!

It's a poem by Ogden Nash, Kerrin.
(sheesh)

Variation:

The other day upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
He must be from the CIA.
--Mad Magazine.

All things dull and gargully

This is from Monty Python's Contractual Obligation Album and is sung to the tune of All Creatures Great and Small.

All things dull and gargully,
All creatures short and squat,
All things rude and nasty,
The Lord God made the lot.

Each little snake that's poisonous,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their brutish venom,
He made their 'orrid wings.

All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all.

Each nasty little hornet,
Each beastly little squid,
Who made the slimy urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!

All things scabbed and ulcerous,
All pox burns great and small,
Putrid, foul, and gangrenous,
The Lord God made them all.

The original

The other day upon the stair
I met a man that wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today.
Gee, I wish he'd go away!

--Ogden Nash
