I had been to Malaysia once, and while it is a very beautiful nation, it is very, very different from neighboring Singapore.

The feeling is that the nation is on a very low key campaign to mold itself into another theocratic muslim state. And to think that 100-150 years ago some indigenous Malays were once considered gentle and fun-loving.
