"You can draw some valid parallels between the prosecution of the war under the Bush regime and the way the financial sector has operated in recent years," said Tom Schlesinger, head of the nonprofit research group Financial Markets Center in Howardsville, Va. "It fails the most basic test of democratic accountability," Schlesinger said.

What do you mean?

Just throw money at it with no accountability?

In that case it is exactly like it.

Bush's Handling of Mortgage Crisis Echoes Iraq

Dead On!

Yup. Give me all the power and don't ask any questions.

Stock market crashes generally happen in October.

The crash in 87 occured int he month of Oct.

The crash that started the great depression happened in October.

We are heading for another huge crash soon - the market is all primed and ready for a huge crash next month!

The only thing that could hold it back is this economic bail out plan - and that is not gonna fly anytime soon.

No wonder gold is going up in price.

Just throw money at the problem with no accountability. That's Bush. Yet people who claim to be "conservatives" support him. Both jackasses he ran against are by default more conservative than he is. Not that most of the hacks who claim to be "conservative" even know what the word means.....

Well I have heard that most stock market declines are in Sep/Oct since that is mutual funds year ends and they sell assets to lock in gains for the year.

"Trust Me (even though I really don't know what I am doing)" - Sincerely, George W. Bush

Applies equally to Iraq and the current situation.

The whole thing should be put on hold with a temporary six-month solution, to be re-visited next year. Congress - just do it!

Sully, did you forget your meds this morning?

"Sully, did you forget your meds this morning?"

No. Not everyone takes meds in the morning. You aren't normal.

Maybe you should try to comment on the topic or refute what other people are saying instead of posting the most unoriginal insults we've ever seen. Otherwise, go play outside and let the grownups talk. Don't forget your helmet.....

reps screw up everything

...why should the stripes change now?

....and stupid Rasta, when will you understand that our mainstream dems and reps are for the most part in this together? Better yet, keep your delusions.

Yep, just hand Dubya everthang he wants n' don't ask none of them pesky questions. Mission accomplished!

"Fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again."

Back atcha, Chimpy.

That has been the government way for a very long time.

BushCo excels in the "Shock Doctrine".

Read the book www.naomiklein.org

"Only a crisis actual or perceived causes real change..."

Milton Friedman

Well ya know... Neo-Cons came from Socialist roots. So they have come full circle... and now we have them right where they want us.

and now we have them right where they want us.

Aggravatingly true flag!

Bush could fuck up a wet dream.

Four more years with McSame!

i105.photobucket.com

The Bush Presidency's Legacy will be one remembered for its failure, to make the lives of everyday Americans better. In fact it has made the lives of every American worst, from thier handeling of the tragedy of 9/11, to Katrina to the War on Terror an now even as the light at the end of the tunnel for this ADMINISTRATION is near, we have this Financial disaster.....

Every step of the way this Administration an his Republican Party, have taken this Country just to the edge of disaster an than called for the American People to bail them out. By making it a Life an Death situation. This is the situation that Mr. Bush an his Party finds its self on the eve of a National Election, the American People will have a chance on Nov.4, 2008, to rid this Party of any leadership responsibility for the next 8 Years....PRESIDENT OBAMA get used to it!!!!

YAWN.

Another GOP-created crisis, and they need lots of money. Right now.

For their friends, no strings attached. No rules. No limits. and they keep the profits and have golden parachutes, too.

Sure.

NO.

Well there is accountability, but only at the lowest levels.

The Six Stages of a Project

1. Excitement
2. Disillusionment
3. Panic
4. Search for the Guilty
5. Punishment for the Innocent
6. Praise and Glory for the Non-Participants

Clearly we are in the PANIC PHASE.

Evil greedfuckers are conspiring to walk off with 1/3 of the Federal Budget. Nothing is more important than being able to blackmail or bribe 51% of Congress.

In that case we might as well get ready for a depression.

Will barney frank keep is cumqaute mouth shut, I mean come on, the country has already reserved the 3 dollar bill just for him. But please, I don't want him as my landlord, I don't want his porno-studio next door to me or my children's children.

I know Jesus and obama is no messiah !

McCain/Palen 08, 2012
Palen/Kasich 2016/2020

The timing of this couldn't have been better for those in the financial markets and the White House. "Let's let the house of cards be broadcast shortly before the end of the Presidential campaign. Congress will HAVE to give us what we want".

BTW, I watched Palin's entire interview with Katie Couric. Anyone who thinks this woman is even ready to be Governor of Alsaka needs to have their head examined.

When asked again by Couric to provide ONE example when McCain fought FOR regulation in his 26 years Palin's response was, "I'll find some and bring 'em to ya".

Wow.

PSS McCain kept Obama waiting - not while he met with his financial advisers all day, but while he was meeting with Lynn de Rothchild, uber rich former backer of Hillary Clinton.

Way to go John Sidney McCain. You care SO much you haven't bothered going to Washington for 6 months, and now you want to intercede with a committee you're not even a member of, take Congressional leaders away from the important negotiations and work they're doing so they can show up for a photo op at the White House with you.

If you're going to support this lame-ass, at least learn how to spell her name.

Lets cut the Bull Shit. The two individuals resposible for this financial mess is Chris Dodd and Barry Frank. Wake Up!

Yes ozzie,

let's cut the bull shit. Many elites were responsible but the most is the stupid dictum of the republican mantra of free market with no regulation...........bush and his administration.

Bush had many many warning signs but he chose to ignore them for the advent of greed for his elite few.

Now grow up and start following your dictum of party idiocy.

You're nothing but a hypocrit stealing peoples money and yet you hate taxes. What a putz!

This plan and the republican mantra is beyond anything worse than hypocrisy.

These republicans know what is being proposed is wrong, just plain wrong, yet they are for it. Nothing shows more that they have no faith in the very idea of their standing policies of economic free market then they sit now and defend this bailout convoluted tax hike at 4 times what they are actually proposing.

Talk about lacking backbone for their leadership of ideas, not the republicans that is for sure.

Your wrong again MONEYWAR. Bush tried but was blocked by the ASSHOLE libs in congress.

Ozzie, if you think this comes down to two idiots you not worth the time.

You're doing nothing but trying to party hack to save the honor of the failing economy from the theft of the republican party elites.

Ozzie,

Huh?

What the fuck are you saying? Can anyone make heads or tails as to what this idiot is tryin to say?

first he is one direction than he's another.

What? ozzie, you unable to explain yourself, typical of blog hacking.

Now get to what you're really tryin to say.

It is the same old liberal BS. The facts are that your heros, Dodd (remember Country Wide and the sweatheart mortgages) and Frank screwed up by blocking repeated attempts by the Rep. and Bush to take corrective action and avoid this financial problem we have now.
Of course if you read the New York Slime, you would never know this.

Well for you information ozzie, I don't read the ny slime and two people are not capable of blocking anything but you go ahead and think idiocy.

And what corrective action was bush trying to take, I would like to understand.

And as far as liberal, you and your republican base is the only thing liberal around here. All one has to do is look at this bail out and see we are being taxed to high heaven and getting nothin for it but more liberal thieving.

So if I were you I would refrain from the idea that I am liberal, you are by far more liberal by what you support than anything I support.

It is the same old liberal BS.

Yes it is and republican is thy name.

700 bill. will equal a few trillion by the time it is done and the people will see none of it.

thanks to the neoliberal base called republicans and the bush administration.

****** Ozzie,
What the fuck are you saying? Can anyone make heads or tails as to what this idiot is tryin to say?
......Posted by moneywar ******

......what he is saying is......

..."I'm agitated.....the short yellow bus that takes me to school is late....and its donut day today.......Ozzietranslated"

You're doing nothing but trying to party hack to save the honor of the failing economy from the theft of the republican party elites.
