Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Both sides appear to have gotten what they wanted for the Oct. 2 vice-presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis.

Republicans wanted to limit the amount of time for answers as a way to aid Gov. Sarah Palin. The v.p. contenders will get 90 seconds to respond to questions followed by a two-minute discussion period of each topic.

Short answers fer Gov Failin cos she's hopelessly unprepared fer the event despite being sequestered fer the last few weeks and being crammed fulla Rightwing talking points.

And people say folks have fergotten how to compromise.

Pshaw!

Be Well.

....and tell Joe that Palin is already standing. No need for him to cajole her to her feet.

Ninety-second answers should be enough for Sarah to display her ignorance. herm

An apt comment-unless she shaves....

If all else fails I'm sure she could flash those lactating puppies and, well, capture the male vote right then and there.

To be serious for a moment (and I'd like others' opinion on this) I think it'll be difficult for Biden. To many he's a know-it-all condescending blowhard with many, many years of bureaucratic experience. How does he avoid coming across as condescending... not arrogant or mean spirited? That'll be interesting to see. Thoughts?

Moderator: Senator Biden, how do you see yourself and Mr. Obama interacting in your possible administration.

Biden: I mean, you got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. It's going to be hard to keep my hands off of him.

Moderator: Senator Biden, I see you are taking foreign language lessons. Is that to further your foreign policy experience?

Biden: Nah, got enough of that. I jest want a slurpie or a donut once in a while and, well you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin' Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.

Moderator: Senator Biden, what do you think of the success of the surge in the Iraq war?

Biden: The surge isn't going to work either tactically or strategically.

Moderator: But senator, it is widely accepted that the surge has worked.

Biden: The surge isn't going to work either tactically or strategically. Chuck, stand up, let the people see you.

Moderator: Governor Palin, what do you propose to do about the current financial crisis?

Palin: Aflac!

Moderator: Senator Biden, what do you think about clean coal technology?

Biden: We're not supporting 'clean coal.' Guess what. China's building two every week. Two dirty coal plants. And it's polluting the United States. It's causing people to die. I hope you won't hold it against me, but I am a hard-coal miner, anthracite coal, Scranton, Pa., It's nice to be back in coal country. ...

"Palin: Aflac!" - NULL

That, my friends, is ducking the question.

NULL-
Take a peek at post #7. How tough do you think it'll be for Biden, given his propensity for verbosity?

"That, my friends, is ducking the question."

lol. Damn you Oohrah with your puns ;)

"How tough do you think it'll be for Biden, given his propensity for verbosity?"

The McCain campaign will call him sexist, condescending, etc., no matter what he does. How the viewers see it is another thing entirely.

Better article on debates from NYT.

FTA: McCain advisers said they had been concerned that a loose format could leave Ms. Palin, a relatively inexperienced debater, at a disadvantage and largely on the defensive.

The DNC have granted Sarah "the Chickenhearted" Palin's handlers this 90 second sound bite friendly format in order to allow Obama a better shot a McCain.

That, at least, makes sense.

Somewhere locked up in a hotel room Scary Failin is right this very second peering through her rimless glasses at a set of BushCo flashcards.

Biden will still clean her clock.

In the Obama/McCain debates we have the first real chance to see someone go totally off the wire since Perot had his hissy fit way back in the day.

Be Well.

...ducking the question.

~OohRah.

The man is shameless.

Spud's impressed.

FF fer OohRah.

Be Well.

stage left.

I can't wait to shove this one down your throats when Sarah rips Biden a new one!

I bet he limps off stage drooling.

This isn't fair to Joe Biden.

How is he going to get his share of 90 seconds of rebutal time when the moderators are still rolling on the floor laughing at Palin's campy effort to regurgitate GOP mini-commercials.

"The McCain campaign will call him sexist, condescending, etc., no matter what he does. How the viewers see it is another thing entirely.

I don't see how anyone could view Sarah Palin as anything but an underdog in this debate.

She may pull it off, but I have my doubts.

Biden is an experienced and crafty veteran.

The one thing Palin has going for her is that she's a virtual unknown - she'll be difficult to prepare for.

Anyhow, it should be an interesting debate.

"well one of my children is a retard doncha know.
Oh I can see Russia from my front porch, you betcha"

There will be li'l chunks of Caribou Barbie in Biden's stool the day after the debate.

More likely Biden will comment on some minority group or disagree with his running mate on some issue - He is definately Biden off more than he can chew in this one.

So many bon mots from Cidney and his stooges. Curiously, I find them more sad then funny. Must be me ... herm

Joe, the Apostle been given plenty of time to bone up on politics and cripples by the Messiah.
