Charack O'Barkley!

Tax cuts for pedophiles!

Sad part is, those were more honest than the real commercials he's running.

I like the one where he claims he "fought Republicans in the Senate".

Oh wait, that was real.

Retort: SNL is News

SNL is funny and all, but front page news?

Murphy,

The skits have all appeared to be in good fun, even the incest one. It seemed to me like they were making fun of journalists and not the Palin family.

Well--then let's make fun of the journalists using the Obama family and that Obama has sex with his daughters and see how that goes over.

Is this the one Al Franken helped with?

SNL shitty-no-laughs, how has that show remained on the air?

They need to bring Eddie Murphy back and reprise his Buckwheat Obama routine.

Wis--

That would be racist.

Why isn't this SNL skit getting the front page real estate?

wnd.com

I'm guessing the person most pissed about this kind of stuff has to be Barack Obama. The more Palin is trashed this way, the more positive attention she gets...

Thanks for the link Rob, the 17 year old has a GREAT rack...

Al Franken apologised to Minnesotans for his crude jokes in his attempt for elected office --- he is at it again. Unrepentant! I hope his constituency see through his dirty tricks and insincere apologies and give him the boot.

Can a leopard change its skin? Same old Al Franken is thy name!

NBC/MSNBC has been booed in the RNC and snubbed in the Palin interview.

Revenge: bias and smear against McCain-Palin.

Taky, the voters can not give him "Das Boot", because he's not in any elected office...

Can a leopard change its skin? Same old Al Franken is thy name!

I used to hate Al Franken until I found out that Takeitez hates him, so now I love him.

From now on, whatever that illiterate america-hating jesus thumper Takitsleazy says, I believe exactly the opposite.

Lipzoidial, I remember takitez clearly stating he loved Blacks.

"LOD--so would it be a funny skit if SNL made fun of journalists using Obama screwing his daughters?"

I didn't say it was funny. I said it was in "good fun," meaning I don't think they were trying to smear the Palin family as much as they were making fun of journalists and the way they invent news or controversies.

Geez, some of you definitely don't understand that most humor is based on context. The Palins are a fertile bunch for sure, with a few infants (and soon to be infants) in the fold. That is why that joke was made. It makes no sense to make that joke at the expense of the Obamas.

But then, no one has accused Republicans of being comedic geniuses, either.

You want sexism? How about coming to Palin's defense all the time over these "horrid" attacks, an act you would not be doing if she were a man. By your actions you are demonstrating the notion that she, as a woman, cannot handle the attacks and needs you to defend her.

"You want sexism? How about coming to Palin's defense all the time over these "horrid" attacks, an act you would not be doing if she were a man. By your actions you are demonstrating the notion that she, as a woman, cannot handle the attacks and needs you to defend her."

What the hell are you smoking, Trig? People don't defend male politicians from attacks?

McBush has not only sold his soul to the devil, he's taken 2nd and 3rd mortgages(thankfully, he was able to get low interest 54 month baloon terms)and now it seems that he's forgetting to make the payments. It's the righturd way!

www.youtube.com

Is this the one Al Franken helped with?

Al Franken had a conversation with someone at SNL regarding the ""...and I approve this message" thing.

He never wrote one word of the skit but he did provide the basic idea.

He sed he was surprised when it became a sketch and even more so when RT's started crediting him with writing it.

Spud watched this last night and read up on it.

Funniest part is the "Barack fathered two black babies in wedlock" thing.

McLame tries objecting that that's wot Bush did to him more or less and then is reminded that Bush won that election. With that McLame's uncertainties fly out the window.

Considering his posturing, pandering and policy flip flops this election cycle it's not too far from the truth about the unscrupulous old hack.

Be Well.

Chill, same old Al Franken is contesting for Senate seat. Yes, voters can decide to kick him down and let Coleman or the Independent candidate win.

What is funny is how the right wing pinheads that bashed Hillary for being too sensitive and bringing out the sex card are now falling over each other to defend Palin.

"People don't defend male politicians from attacks?"

Not at all like they do for "Sarah." Can't even call her "Governor" or just "Palin." "Sarah" makes her sound motherly, saintly, a member of the (disfunctional) family. They don't even refute, just whine about poor Sarah... I'm not saying all do this, but hell, there are certainly enough of them.

I make no promises.

And yes I find it hilarious that all the righties have wound up nice and tight over this.

No, Palin was trotted out with an air of impunity not seen with any of the candidates, and the attitude since day one from the GOP has been that she is "off limits" to any "probing" questions about her background and qualifications, as if it's insulting of us to ask them.

Awesome bus though.

Usually you keep them on blocks in your front yard.

So many false controversies and lies were spread within such a small time frame, and you get all whiney when someone goes on the defense?

How many false controversies? I only remember the one about the baby.

It has been clearly shown that the right talking heads, while clearly bashing Hillary for playing the sexism card are now defending Palin left and right over the claims of sexism.

You need look no further than Fox News.

Her daughter is a slut. By definition. Just check out the hockey redneck she chose to have a baby with.

So, by calling me Trig, you are sickeningly insulting all Downs babies? Because, obviously, you are attempting to insult me by association with Palin's Downs kid, right?

"Awesome bus though."

Is that what all the short-bus riders say to make themselves feel better?

And, face it, there is enough in Palin's background that's not "mudslinging." You know it as well. McCain's camp didn't do their homework and you know she was a quick pick. Just admit.

"And, face it, there is enough in Palin's background that's not "mudslinging." You know it as well. McCain's camp didn't do their homework and you know she was a quick pick. Just admit."

#47 | Posted by evashogouki

I'm not saying she doesn't have more than enough background to criticize or that the McCain camp properly vetted her, Trig.

That would be as ridiculous as saying the defense of a female politican is sexist, or that objections to attacks on her family is somehow noteworthy or controversial, as if those defending her should sit idly by.

"So, by calling me Trig, you are sickeningly insulting all Downs babies? Because, obviously, you are attempting to insult me by association with Palin's Downs kid, right?"

#45 | Posted by evashogouki

It's all about context.

And what media has attacked Palin's family? Other than to point out factual reporting? Sorry, but when you want to run for the second-most powerful job in the world (and possibly the first), we do have a right to know about you and your family. The facts about Palin's family don't bother me at all, her extremist social stances, outright lying and warmongering tendencies and statements, however, do. Oh, and the fact that she is not qualified nor intelligent enough to hold the VP office, that too.

Lipzoidial, I remember takitez clearly stating he loved Blacks.

#50 | Posted by evashogouki

I agree, but fail to understand how you can claim with a straight face that the right wouldn't be defending her if she was a man, and that they are sexist for doing so.

No, what I was saying was that the GOP and Palin's defenders act in an outraged manner that they wouldn't have if she were a man. They act as if their mother was being insulted and attacked. I don't see how Palin has been "attacked." The media has asked fair questions of her and about her background and qualifications. She doesn't have the right answers and instead of admitting that, this whole sexist and attack thing is a smokescreen.

If this "parody" is nothing but just a little joke then why has the joke only been against the right.

And why can anyone think this is impartial when Al "air-head america" writes the skit.

Wisgod and ARob,

stop crying like little bitches. I'm sure you loved SNL in the past when they were making fun of Clinton and Gore. Especially when they had Chris Kattan impersonate a 12yo Chelsea.

Ok--LOD--"Good Fun" is the standard.

So would it be "Good Fun" for the SNL to do the same incest skit with Obama as the subject doing it with his two daughters?

All to make the point of course that journalists were the butt of the joke??

~Job

Neep.

Incorrect RT talking point.

From AP Article: Not long after the conversation between Franken and Michaels, "SNL" head writer Seth Meyers contacted Franken and they spoke briefly about the idea, the campaign said. Franken was not involved in writing any of the specifics of the skit, Murray said.

"Lorne Michaels decided Al's real-life experience was funny, and it became an accidental inspiration for a comedy sketch," Murray said

I thought he might write it but I didn't know. I didn't know anything about it

~Al Franken

Be Well.

And did Franken get a credit at the end of the show??

Perhaps Al Franken thinks it is more important for Obama to win over McCain. Senate, schmenate, who cares?

The problem is that everybody thinks McPow is an asshole, and that Sarah is a bitch. Most people think of Obama/Biden in a positive light.

"This is the third time asked. It is a yes or no answer."

It's simple the Palin family have all of the trappings of a white trash family who live in a self-professed redneck state. That's why they get the "family tree doesn't branch" jokes.

"By your actions you are demonstrating the notion that she, as a woman, cannot handle the attacks and needs you to defend her."

#24 | Posted by evashogouki

Sarah Palin has NEVER asked anyone for help with these attacks, doesn't need our help to defend her from these attacks and I am sure she is quite capable of defending herself.

I laugh every time I read a left wing poster saying she is hiding from the public.

Hardly. She ignores the press the same as I would ignore a pile of dog shit, since that is what the press is.

She had no problem drawing 60,000 people for a stump speech in Florida (some waiting over 5 hours to hear her) while The Messiah brags about drawing 85,000 people for his acceptance speech in Denver where a majority of his audience were Democratic delegates and their families.

So it seems like she is a bigger draw than The Messiah. I guess he will have to part the waters or feed all of the hungry with a couple of fish, a couple of loaves of bread and a few hundred billion bucks in earmarks paid for by the taxpayers.

Yet she is only running for Vice President and doing a stump speech verses him running for President.

All of the posts predicting the "bump" disappearing are simply whistling past the graveyard.

When Congressional Candidates and Senators stop asking a candidate to speak on their behalf, you KNOW that your campaign is in trouble.

I have loved Bill Mahre's last few shows since they have been continuous attacks upon Sarah. The more that asshole opens his mouth, the more popular she becomes. Even with NO guests to defend her, his audience which is 100% ultra left wing were not even laughing at most of his slams at her.

Sorry, ShyGuy, but Palin's 15 minutes are up. The Obama campaign is firmly targeting McCain. People were infatuated with Palin and her story, but they've moved on already. Time you do, too. She is soon to be irrelevent and an albatross around McCain's neck.

The only reason this election is polling as close as it is, especially in light of the economy when most polls indicate greater faith in Obama than McCain, is because of race, plain and simple. This isn't just conjecture, there have already been trend studies and polls that clearly show that race is indeed a factor. Be proud of your country. I am...well...'cept for the racist part.

John McCain is a piece of shit and I'd tell him to his face if he gave me the chance

On a more serious note, here's something else our dear Obama supporters are doing:

University of Massachusetts officials on Monday quashed efforts by an Amherst campus chaplain to offer two college credits to any student willing to campaign in New Hampshire this fall for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Chaplain Kent Higgins told students in a Sept. 18 e-mail, "If you're scared about the prospects for this election, you're not alone. The most important way to make a difference in the outcome is to activate yourself. It would be just fine with (Republican candidate John) McCain if Obama supporters just think about helping, then sleep in and stay home between now and Election Day."

Higgins added that an unnamed "sponsor" in the university's history department would offer a two-credit independent study for students willing to canvassidentify supportersor volunteer on behalf of the Democratic nominee.

University officials disavowed the effort after inquiries Monday by The Associated Press. They said it could run afoul of state ethics laws banning on-the-job political activity, as well as university policy.

"We do not engage in or sponsor partisan political activity," said Audrey Alstadt, chairwoman of the history department. "We certainly do not give academic credit for participation in partisan politics."

I didn't support Kerry but he was white. Could someone spin that into a sign of racism? If you look at the polls from 4 years ago, you will see it not a race thing at all. Its the ideology of the far left that killing the Dem party.

Yup, McCain should have been more tasteful --- Why does Chelsea not look like her dad? Because her father is Janet Reno. (That's still a joke).

The word 'ugly' should be retracted.

She looks fine to me.

TakeitEZ-
How much of history do you feel should be "retracted", especially since Chelsea is no longer a twelve-year-old girl and is not so vulnerable to a 60+ year-old asshole politician calling her ugly?

Anamerican-
re: "I didn't support Kerry but he was white."

You instead voted for the candidate who was what color?

Wasn't there some jibbering talking head on Fox yesterday or the day before sniviling that he just couldn't understand why Franken wasn't being arrested for this?

***** Lipzoidial, I remember takitez clearly stating he loved Blacks..... Posted by wisgod *****

........throttled or shot ?........

...or does that fucking racist retard have another way he loves "Blacks"..??.......

HOW CAN SNL mock Sarah Palin's religion, McCain's age, and ignore Obama's mentor Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who the mother lode of comic material, if it were not part of a biased, anti-Republican media propaganda machine?

If there was some kind of "Hippocratic Oath" of comedy, the SNL and late night comedy guys should be sued for malpractice for passing up the Rev. Jeremiah Wright material. Have we forgotten this funny stuff? They could base a regularly appearing character on Rev. Wright.

Rev. Wright publishes Hamas Terrorist manifesto in Church newsletter:
Rev. Wright accuses America of creating AIDS to kill blacks and Arabs
Rev. Wright damns America
Rev. Wright on why not vote for Hillary Clinton:
Rev. Wright blames America for 9/11
Rev. Wright radio rant against Zionists
Rev. Jeremiah Wright Q & A at the National Press Club: part 1; part 2; part 3
Rev. Jeremiah Wright Speech at the National Press Club: part 1; part 2; part 3

You don't even really have to change anything for this to be funny. The cognitive dissonance is baked into the material. Just add the right soundtrack, for example. It's just cynical partisan politics for SNL to make fun of the Republicans while ignoring all the truly ripe material on the Democratic ticket.

I think it would be a funny skit about how Obama furiously denies he's a Muslim, puts up "fight the smears" website denying it, enlisting legions of angry denouncers in the media who keep repeating he's not a Muslim... but then Obama goes around making amazing bloopers in which he talks like a Muslim, stammers and hems when asked about how he feels about Jesus, etc. I think that would be funny as hell, for the hypocrisy of glibly lying about your religion, coming out in Freudian slips.

Obama is known for always speaking very carefully & precisely (it's his gift). Except when he's talking about his religion or when he's making those "Muslim bloopers".

OBAMA BLOOPERS IN WHCH HE TALKS LIKE A MUSLIM:

:: BARACK OBAMA: "MY MUSLIM FAITH" ::

In an interview of Obama on September 7, George Stephanopolous asked Obama about his accusations that the McCain campaign are going to accuse him of being Muslim. Obama goes into a 2 minute answer that includes the blooper "my Muslim faith".

At minute 1:34 Stephanopolous asks Obama about why he makes accusations that the McCain campaign is going to accuse him of being Muslim, when the McCain has condemned people making those accusations.

At minute 2:49 Obama says: "You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith."

George Stephanopolous steps in and corrects him to say "Christian faith" and then Obama agrees and says "Christian faith". But then what Obama was going to say doesn't make sense anymore because that would be, "You're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Christian faith." Obama then has to spend the next 15 seconds regrouping to make a point ("John McCain has not suggested I was a Muslim.")

:: OBAMA THINKS THE U.S. HAS "57 STATES" ::

You can watch Obama's statement that he's visited "57 states". This is no joke, he really said this. This was no "slip", he pauses & thinks about it! What American would forget that? And why would he pick the number "57" out of the air?

Everyone knows that we have 50 states. But there is a union that has 57 states in it: the nation of Islam. The Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations. It has 57 Islamic member states, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkan, Southeast Asia, South Asia and South America.

:: TOO-LONG, BABBLE-ANSWER ON THE QUESTION WHAT IS THE MEANING OF JESUS IN HIS LIFE ::

You can also watch Barack Obama's too-long, wandering, lame response to the question: what is the meaning of Jesus in his life. He starts kind of okay with a trite answer, but then gets lost and stops making sense until he ends up claiming that Jesus makes him try new things like running for President after Rev. Warren starts making noises that signal to Obama he needs to cut it off.

Afterward, Obama lamely says that was a tough question, whereon Rev. Warren says, "Oh no, that was a freebie, a gimme."

"Ok--LOD--"Good Fun" is the standard.

If you couldn't decipher my answer (which was very straightforward), then you're an unintelligent rube.

The skit, while tasteless and unfunny, wasn't intended IMO to smear the Palins, but to show journalists inventing controversy where none exists (hence the "no evidence, BUT no counter-evidence").

You keep asking if I would say the same thing if it were about Obama; I'd be laughing my ass off if it were about Obama because his supporters would be right here wetting themselves in an emotional breakdown and general loss of hope.

The more Palin is trashed this way, the more positive attention she gets...

Rob, I don't always agree with you, but I think you're right here. There is a fine line that has to be walked before Palin gets cast as a victim or underdog. If the media or Obama supporters or whoever keeps pushing too hard, they will end up making her someone who people feel sorry about, and Americans' will always support those. if that happens, there is little tie for anyone to correct it before the election.

Read Matt Taibbi's article in this week's Rolling Stone, in which he catalogs all the things that are bad about Sarah Palin, most true and some exaggerated. Unlike Taibbi's previous articles, this one had virtually no humor in it, and that made it come across as mostly mean-spirited and just a bunch of tired previously-vetted talking points that he could embellish with a bunch of "fucks" because he has the luxury of working for a magazine that has an editorial policy that allows it. It ended up reading more like a screed from a rabid Obama supporter, rather than a balanced political analysis like he normally does. In addition, he basically says in at least 3 or 4 places that only fat stupid trailer trash votes Repub, a simplistic stand that he has never taken; it seems like Palin has made even the most honestly introspective Dems start to unravel for whatever reason. (In defense, he does defer for one or two paragraph to the fact that Obama and Palin have some things in common in terms of media treatment, but only as an afterthought).

I know an article like Taibbi's may convince some to vote against any ticket that she is on, but it can just as easily make some people vote for her in some weird kind of reaction that I think is unique to the US. If that tipping point is reached, the Dems risk losing in November.

Typo: In first para, should read "there is little TIME". Sorry.

and yet no one talks about barrys bullshit

like the internet dig

like his lies to seniors about mccain social security plan

and his lies and distortions about his own upbringing

for instance I just read a tearjerking story about his mom on food stamps and not once did it mention that she was in graduate school at the time and not destitute and on the streets.........

People can be on food stamps and in grad school at the same time, BLT. If she was relying on stamps to eat, the Obamas were pretty close to destitute.

There is a fine line that has to be walked before Palin gets cast as a victim or underdog.

I disagree. The reason Palin has dropped so far so fast in polls is because of the vetting she's gotten, a lot of which came from harsh scrutiny on blogs. It would have been far worse for Democrats to give her a pass out of fear there might be pushback.

but thats not my point rcade

HOWEVER........I was in grad school for two years plus a couple of hours on doctoral and I GOT A JOB and didnt rely on the government

and my point is all of the crying about oh poor little barry....not any reg that allows for her to have been on them..........

I disagree. The reason Palin has dropped so far so fast in polls is because of the vetting she's gotten, a lot of which came from harsh scrutiny on blogs. It would have been far worse for Democrats to give her a pass out of fear there might be pushback.

I agree with you, RCade, that the vetting process has resulted in her drop from the heady highs of the first few days after she was announced, and I cannot imagine what benefit would have resulted frmo giving her a pass. But beyond the vetting process, there can be a point where the barrage of negativity can result in a reaction to off-topic personal attacks or off-color remarks aimed at her. In much the same way Obama can benefit when someone says something very stupidly racist or off-color about his family or his demographic situation, and that pushes some people to redouble their efforts to support him. It is not the vetting process that pushes things across the line I mention; it is over-the-top attacks.

If you say Sarah Palin broke ground on a $15 million dollar hockey rink on land the town had not yet fully purchased, costing the town thousands of dollars in fines and lawsuits, and in the next breath tell me her husband may have impregnated the teen daughter, then your point about the hockey rink, though valid and relevant, gets tossed with the bathwater of the second argument. I have heard people whose opinions I trust and respect (and these are very moderate middle-of-the-roaders) say "She's getting ganged up on". Even if not wholly true, the perception is there.

How great is Joe Biden attacking Obama's ad against McCain! Biden calls OBAMA'S attack ad "terrible." Obama's own running partner thinks Obama's actions are terrible. Joe Biden rocks!
