Southern Dems broke party ranks to become Rethugs over the issue of minority rights.
The "Southern Strategy" has not gone away.
Rethugs have tried to make gay foks permanent second class citizens by ammending the constitution.
Those two examples alone show how much more inclusionary the left is compared to the right. There's no denying.
To try and argue that the GOPher's "Big Tent" is not predominantly a Big White Rich Tent is to be disingenuous in the extreme.
The problem with the right is that they agree to often and there usually wrong, morally and historically.
The problem with the left is that they argue too much and have a harder time achieving concensus.
...DR lefites are an extreme exception to the rule. I don't think I've met a single on here who has welcomed and respected what a republican had to say. AAMOF, some are rabid in their vehement exclusion of anything to the right of their own tenets.
Ummm, this is kinda a debate site not a tea party.
While there are no doubt some strongly held convictions which are passionately argued by both sides here to try and suggest that the left is the more rabid and vehement side is to ignore huge swaths of reality.
In fact it's downright dumb.
