I thought this deserved attention because the mortgage crisis is often framed in terms of race, class, creditworthiness, etc -- characteristics of the borrowers. Recognizing that rich, white folks with long credit histories are also losing homes underscores the role that poor industry practices have played. The emphasis in this article is on variable-rate financing and overvaluation.
