Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The Democratic-controlled Congress, acknowledging that it isn't equipped to lead the way to a solution for the financial crisis and can't agree on a path to follow, is likely to just get out of the way.

Hey, here's an idea- let's put a one-term Senator with no practical experience, with an ego the size of Chicago, who thinks that anyone outside an urban setting is a 'clingy" redneck, in charge of the country to work with Tweedle Reid and Tweedle Dummy, who can't run a competent Congress. Formula for success, right?

"One reason, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said yesterday, is that ``no one knows what to do'' at the moment."

The Poster boy of the Democratic Party, lowering the bar for Barry.

"While they haven't ruled out returning after the Nov. 4 elections, they would rather wait until next year"

What a bunch of cowards.

``no one knows what to do''

Well, duh.

I can't believe that Reid used to be a boxer. It's as if he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body.

"no one knows what to do''

McCain does: eliminate a tax which only effects multi-millionaires and billionaires, and borrow more billions to do it.

"I can't believe that Reid used to be a boxer."

That explains why he's so damn punch-drunk.

Yeah, Harry. Let's address the issue in January. I'm sure a "present" and a good teleprompter speech from Obama will help you find a solution.

The entire Senate is like a bunch of retired Muhammad Ali's - just sitting there drooling and nodding off.

And we'll re-elect 95% of them.

$85 billion bail out and dow up 18 pts right now.

Good job.

Of course, the real reason this Congress is so highly disregarded by the public is that they haven't over the last two years turned the tide of many years of Republican malfeasance, as the public voted them in to do; the Dems not having a large enough majority of votes to do so.

That's right, if only we had more democrats. More, more, more. I hear the same arguments with regard to every failed liberal policy ever implemented in America. If only we had more funding, more taxes - more, more, more. The democrats have worn out that excuse to the point of absurdity. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. And a dem controlled congress doesn't work any better than a republican one.

Without enough of a majority to move legislation, it is idiotic to think that either Party can succeed against the delaying tactics of the other.

Call it stalemate or gridlock or whatever you like, but it is a fact of life that some would rather whine about than work to elect enough people who are on the same page to accomplish policies that the American people actually want.

Not knowing what to do is not the same as gridlock or stalemate. He finally admitted his own parties shortcomings.

"And we'll re-elect 95% of them."

Yaaaaaay! Pork!

The stench from this hypocrisy is overwhelming. Reid, Pelosi, Barack Obama, and every Democrat who could bitterly cling to a microphone over the last four days has spewed invective at the Bush administration, blaming the credit-market meltdown on Bushs policies. Now, at the height of the crisis, not only do the Democrats admit they havent a clue as to how to address it, to whom do they turn to solve it?

The Bush administration! After all, Henry Paulson serves on the Bush administration Cabinet, and has been Bushs Treasury Secretary for over two years. In fact, Paulson was of the CEOs that Democrats love to demonize, having run Goldman Sachs for years at salaries over $15 million a year for the two years prior to his appointment. Joe Biden just got done blaming the meltdown on people like Paulson. Now Democrats want him to rescue America.

Vote Democrat in 2008. Inaction in action.

Reid and Pelosi are indeed idiots.

Here's what you do.

Introduce enabling bills for stringent new regulations of the financial sector and let the Repubs filibuster them.

Then go home and campaign.

Jeez, do I have to do everything around here?

I can't believe that Reid used to be a boxer. It's as if he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body.

Are you sure he wasn't a punching bag?

If this Congress had been taking this approach with important legislation Obama would have a huge lead right now.

Our Congress is useless. Just look at their 'oversight' of FannieMae and FreddieMac.

You know it's funny...cause I think during this campaign, someone was very concerned about this issue and felt it needed to be addressed because our economy was on the precipice, and everyone looked at him like he was speaking Latin because it wasn't in their talking points. Hmm...what was his name again?

Oh yeah! That's it, his name was Ron Paul!

Nevermind, he's crazy, I forgot.

He's not the only one who was called crazy.

YEAH!

On minute its Bush Gets Everything He Wants and Congress is Powerless to Stop Him-- (via hannity and the other Pundents) ---- the Next minute he is Helpless and its all the fault of Congress!
Too Fucking Funny!
What I want to know is what happened to Mr. Unilateral, Mr. Unilateral who claimed overreaching Executive Powers to act independently from the two other branches?
Now all of a sudden, after years of ululating his awesome prowess, hes helpless over the very same folks you all bragged he didnt have to work with
