Joanna R. Shelton: One reason Barack Obama is running even with John McCain in Montana is the perception of many people in the state -- one of the poorest in the union -- that our federal government in recent years has watched out for the interests of large corporations and the well-heeled, while many Montanans fight to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

Mac is ahead 9 points over Obama.

Joanna R. Shelton: One reason Barack Obama is running even with John McCain in Montana

Rasmussen has him up by 11 points?

What the fuck?

Electoral-Vote

You could vote for the first black president ever, or you could vote for an old guy that's proposing to continue the disastrous policies of the current administration. Who do you choose, Montana?

oops--Shelton is a Joanna--

Is this dudette on drugs?

You never know....

This story is bogus, McCain is up by 11 points in Montana in the most recent poll and it has never been close. Who the hell is this Shelton hack? Flop Ears is getting desperate even though he has the whole MSM in his tank, he's running on four flat tires. Idiots like Joanna Shelton are like a load of sand in the trunk. She will be "trying to keep a roof over her head and food on the table", after she gets fired for publishing this dumbass piece.

Powerful Political Pundit Thom

I think Obama should ignore the 3 electoral votes in Montana and probably think about trying to seal up the 48 votes from Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin...

The Polls in NY have shrunk 15 points for Obama to now 5 points ahead from the latest poll.

hehe

It will go back up... there aren't any likely possibilities that I can see New York turning Red for McCain. Grew up in Central New York... Its deep blue.

When Flop Ears and his henchboys started attacking Palin, it really worked well. Barry is an amateur. Keep up the good work!

I don't pay attention to this crap until after the first debate. Then I'll have an idea.

It's serious blue--

The gap that shrunk is a topic--it is obvious that Obama is sinking and drowning.

We still have the debates and gaffes to come.

But something is happening and it's not Obama.

I will say that, given some luck, Schweitzer and Tester (along with folks like Jim Webb) are going to be the face of the Democrats going forward. Gun-friendly, populist, and economically sane.

Calm down, righties. New York will turn red when Oklahoma turns blue. Montana is an interesting case as it appears that Obama does have some kind of a chance there though it would be a surprise. It's tempting to just lump Montana together with Wyoming and Idaho. 8 years of Bush won't change anything in Wyoming or Idaho but just might in Montana.

one wonders when this accurate perception will begin to sink in in the minds of the red staters

Rezko must of done that story and being to busy wondering about his jail cell to get an accurate count from the polls.

Montana is hurtin, and has been for quite some time, almost the entire length the republican bush has been in office.

You see as the great economy of wall street killed Montana and now that is is fallin the still great economy is killin Montana even more.

The one way to get people to vote against a party in majority is to effect their pocket books and jobs.

Are you sharing a bottle in a paper bag with Vermin?

I doubt its likely to apply on election day since PA is so blue, but it has been slowly slipping away from Obama for couple weeks now...

www.rasmussenreports.com

The bluer cities in Montana, Bozeman and Missoula are two, are growing really rapidly. That might have something to do with it.

Wow. This article actually made me laugh out loud.

This woman needs to get out of the college town and see the real Montana. I went to see Biden when he was in Kalispell.. and yeah, he had decent turnout, but it was almost entirely people heckling and razzing him. Not even Bozeman has any chance of going blue. This state is so old boy racist it's comical. If Jesus himself were brownskinned (which, he would actually BE, incidentally), and were running against a White, pro-Russia Communist who was stumping the platform on legalizing the ideals of NAMBLA, the white guy would STILL win.

Schweitzer proves nothing as he is... barely a Democrat at all. A cursory glance of his stand on the issues shows that in any OTHER state, he'd be a Republican. Sometimes people spend way, way WAYYYY too much time on campus and start getting ideals as crazy as bOoB's.

If the state does go for the ears it bill be because of Missoula, Bozeman, and the Flathead Valley. They have been over-run by the libs from out of state.

No chance--at all, zero, zip nada--McCain loses Montana. But hopefully Obama spends a lot of time and money there.

Libs grasping at straws.

Palin put Montana back in McCain's pocket and the Obama camp realizes that.

Dude, that was so last week. Please try to keep up.

That was when Palin was the Britney and Paris of the week. This week they are gonna crucify her.

Dems will carry Montana and several other red states. Plus Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

9 of the last 10 presidential elections, Montana has been red. The one year they went blue was the year Perot took 26% of their votes. In other words, an anomaly that won't be happening this time around.

I take it you don't agree with my assessment. Please tell me what you think will happen, so I can slap you around with it later.

Obama is losing ground in New Jersey as well--

"You could vote for the first black president ever..."

I thought that because Palin has a vagina was the wrong reason to vote for women to vote for her.

But the color of the skin is reason enough?

Then I choose yellow. Bring on Jackie Chan...

And Tucker for Veep.

Personally I am glad Obama has a 50 state strategy. That way he can waste lots of money on 30-35 states he has no shot of winning.

Compared to McCain he has the money to burn.
