Hugo Chavez announced this week that Venezuela will host four Russian warships and 1,000 troops in November for joint military exercises, a move that could heighten tensions and signal the start of a new regional cold war.

As long as it stays cold who gives a fuck? The more they become like the old USSR, the more their people will eventually push towards throwing them again...

Except for Muslims and China people don't typically like to just sit around under tyranny for very long...

Flop Ears said that Venesuela, Iran, and North Korea were tiny countries that were no threat to us. Maybe they forgot to include geography in that affirmative action curriclim. Here are some of the courses Barry took:

Black History From a Liberal Perspective
Reparations and other Handouts
Affirmative Action in Actio
How to Get on Welfare and Stay There
Community Organizing For Dummies
Why Black Folks Can Never be Racists
Creative Real Estate (Professor Resko)
Bomb Making (Professor W. Ayers)
The Evil White Man (Professor Wright)

Golly gee, it feels so good that you are doing this Hugo.

This from the man whose solution for almost anything is to carpet-bomb civilian populations.

Gee, I thought it'd be Cuba, but wtf.

We train and arm the georgettes, they arm and train the Venuzians. Everybody makes a buck and all the politicians get to wiggle their dicks. But I'm betting Russia sells the weapons, we just borrow the money from our grandkids and give the weapons away.

Ain't you Rightys really pissed Rice punted that coup?

"Today we are all so not Venezualians. But if saint sarah stands on her tiptoes, she can see venezuela from her house."
John McSame.

Interesting that we already have the same diplomatic relations with Venezuela that we have with Cuba.

Just in time...

The headline says to me "Hey Bush you want to keep dicking around in my backyard ?"

Carpet-bomb the countries that have no capability to hit us back...

Russia we'd leave alone.

Sounds like somebody who had his lunch money stolen on a regular basis.

Wouldn't that be the action of someone who has stolen lunch money? Seems like a bully thing to do...

A largely forgotten Bush administration screwup. No Presidential Medals of Freedom awarded.

Vigilance is called for along with appropriate response, but not something to be alarmed. Russia (needing friends) will try to appease this madman Chavez, but Russia is not that stupid to do something rash to rattle the USA --- it will be small scale.

In this imperfect world with crazy people, Hugo Chavez will continue to seek points to irritate its northern neighbor. Flush with oil wealth, his ego will never be calmed and his perceived feeling of humiliation (Americans mocking him) will constantly keep him throwing tantrums against the Great Satan. He loves Ahmedinejad and hates Bush with perfect hatred.

Funny that Chavez has not learnt anything from observing another madman Fidel Castro, who has left a legacy of shame and poverty for his people --- and about to enter hades, the spirit world.

"who has left a legacy of shame and poverty for his people"

Pretty much like the rest of Latin America. At least Castro didn't allow Contras supplied by the United States to murder and torture his people.
I have no love for Castro but I also have no love for the right wing dictators who preceded him in most of Latin America.

"who has left a legacy of shame and poverty for his people"

I don't know it's really fair to characterize George Bush's presidency that way.
I mean, he did. . .

No, you're right.
"A legacy of shame and poverty for his people" works.

So what!!

As State Dept official said "They got to find 4 vessels from the Pacific Fleet that can sail that far without breaking down.....good luck"

"Carpet bomb those that can't hit back...."

What a man.

Venezuela is our second largest supplier, after Canada. The best part is, Chavez will cut off our oil supply if we attack him.

More chickens coming home to roost. The chickens being "Freemarketeers" destruction of human life South of the Border. These people are fed up and aren't going to take it anymore.

When Bechtel took over Bolivias entire water supply, including rainwater, riots broke out. Bechtel was driven out and Morales was elected. The CIA supports his ouster which has led to a 67% confidence vote in Morales, some minor internal military showdowns and finally the explusion of the US Ambassador. Venezuela has followed suit, in support of Bolivia.

NUTCASE, we're proud that we controlled the rainwater on every leaf in Bolivia.

We are,

BECHTEL

Hope they enjoyed it while it lasted.

But we'll akways have Condi Rice's 37 second end zone victory dance, before she saw the flag on the field...

Man, you just know those Russian sailors were jumping up and down yelling ,"Pick me, pick me!" while visions of latina hotties feeding them rum danced in thier heads. Have fun, comrades!

Ay carumba!

Versus one which is doing the same courtesy of Bush?
