Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

On MSNBC Monday, McCain advisor Carly Fiorina decried Tina Fey's portrayal of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live as "sexist." "I think she looked a bit like her -- I think of course the portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin," Fiorina argued, calling it "totally superficial," "disrespectful in the extreme," and "sexist."

Saint Sarah is perfect, only sexists question her veracity.

The Republicans

Interesting (but not surprising) that they'd decry the depiction of Palin but not that of Hillary (from this and other SNL skits).

why are righties such whiny bitches?

why are righties such whiny bitches?

what else they got?

I thought it was spot on. Sexist? No.

Especially that Fiorina Stepford Wife - she is a lying sack of shit that can't bring herself to tell the truth even about the obvious:

"I think she looked a bit like her". How anyone takes these people seriously defies rational explanation.

Waaaaaanh!!!!

Stop being such a fucking whiner.

-Sincerely,

Phil Gramm

If it's sexist to point out the stupidity and total lack of qualification of Sarah Palin, then I'm the biggest sexist in the world.

Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig.

Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig.

Bush reads that and he'll be hard for a week.

"I think she looked a bit like her --

Hell, I had to keep reminding myself that it wasn't her, Tina looked and sounded exactly on.

Loved the "and I can see Russia from my house" line.

Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig.

Bush reads that and he'll be hard for a week.

"Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig."

Who won the 1988 election while the dems were so focused on beating up on the VP?

"I think she looked a bit like her -- I think of course the portrait was very dismissive of the substance of Sarah Palin,"

Now I know this has to be a joke.

Sarah Palin has SUBSTANCE?

"the substance of Sarah Palin"

That's like "The wisdom of Rush Limbaugh." -ewwraw

Terminal cognitive dissonance, I tell ya.

I'm sorry, but McCain's reasons for CHOOSING PALIN are sexist, having chosen her because she has a vagina, not for her resume.

Fiorina was just a demo queen who blew her way into the CEO slot at HP. Then quickly screwed up the whole company.

"screwed up the whole company"

And a damn good job of it she did, too!

Waaaaah!

Get over it. You're playing in the Big Game now!

Charlie Gibson was unfair, as even an Obama worker from my church has told me.

Still, stop your whining!

Hey don't hate on the man's methods. Look at it this way. John is getting old...no seriously, the guy is almost dead. The time period where he will be able to surround himself with some quality vagina has long since past. This is his last chance to make himself feel like he is still a stud. Sure he has Cindy, but what guy doesn't like that feeling of being desired (even if it's not real and in his own head) and being surrounded with pretty women. Give a dying man a break.

On a serious note though calling this sexist is funnier than the skit itself. Gotta love those double standards.

Hey, a good SNL skit. Neat.

she has no experience.... and dems are jumping all over that..... while shooting themselves in the foot. too funny. at least she is hotttttttttttt. total gilf

LOL.

Maybe pootie-poot will show the proper "deference" to "sarah!".

McCain's camp is milking the term 'sexist' to its optimum. A good way to send some chill to liberal attacks.

So Putin and Medvedev had endorsed Obama --- Pravda ridiculed Palin.

Obama has become the International President. But he is having a tough time convincing the Americans to accept him for the job. Sarah is in his way.

Just as he stood in the way of Hillary. What goes around comes around thing....

Sarah is a woman to be reckoned with --- now the libs and dems realized they cannot afford to MISUNDERESTIMATE her.

TakitEZ-
re: "So Putin and Medvedev had endorsed Obama"

Really? I guess I missed that.

TakitEZ-
How do you feel about the whole human footprints in dinosaur fossils, and the earth being 6000 years old?

The people want to know!

The best part of the skit is when Fey as Palin mocks Poehler as Clinton by loading a mock rifle as Poehler/Clinton intellectualizes. It captures the real essence of the political climate.

Fey has almost all of Palin's characteristics down to a T! And that mocking anti-intellectual charm of Palin's was 100% insightful! It's the whole campaign of 2008 -- Ideas vs. Hubris! (And the public seldom votes for ideas)

Palin skits "sexist"? There's never enough sexism to go around, is there? herm

The skit was poking fun at the double-standard the McCain campaign is vying for when it comes to sexism.....and the campaign walks right into it!!

Beautiful!

"why are righties such whiny bitches?"

Same reason Obama and the lefties are. Thin skinned.

I personally thought it was funny.

".....and I was Mayor of the METH CAPITAL of Alaska!"

FACT!

"I personally thought it was funny.

Funny that the McCain Campaign would try to portray it as "sexist", or just funny?

Carly Fiorina has a lot of balls.......

"Thinking hurts!"

Sincerely,
The American Public

From the link--

According to her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt, the real Sarah Palin had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane and millions of Americans at home.

She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,-- Schmitt said.

____________-

The skit was funny. The only "sexist" part was Tina sticking out her boobs--I guess?

This seems like a Carla thing--not the campaign camp thing.

Can't wait for the debates!

Careful, Carly!

If you don't make nice, they might decide to do a Fiorina skit, where someone lifts her skirt and pisses all over a company.

I didnt find it to be sexist, instead it was making fun of the sexism that had already unlined the primary season. It was on Saturday Night Live right ??? Thats not the news (although they do have weekend update) I can understand when people get bend out of shape when someone in the network or cable news crosses a line but shouldnt shows like SNL, The Daily Show , Real Time w/ Bill Maher you know comdey shows be held at a different level. I dont look for those shows for the news.

And who DIDN'T win the 1992 Election with Quayle on the ticket - who had become a huge liability for GHW Bush.

Quayle was like a sack of wet Pottattoes for GHWB!

And SNL is Sexist?????

Cognitive Dissonance. It's not just for the insane anymore.

"Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig."

Bullfeathers.

James Danforth Quayle earned a law degree from a decent school while serving in the guard. He worked for four years in Indiana government, was a US Rep for four years, and a US Senator for eight. His JTPA bill was as substantive as anything John McCain has ever passed.

Sarah Palin has a sportscasting journalism degree. She was mayor of a 4-digit town (a part-time job, the town had a full-time city manager), and has been governor of a small state for less than two years.

I know Dan Quayle. And Sarah Palin is no Dan Quayle.

"Can't wait for the debates!"

And who knows, maybe an intelligent question or two will be asked. In any event, the Palin/whathisname ticket is going to look bad.

Gee, I miss old Danforth.

oh sorry is that sexist TOO!

will the obama lookalike please step forward

"Dan Quayle-please call your Orifice"!

If the McCain/Palin group would stop bitching about every comment toward them being "sexist" and actually talk about the issues, then maybe she'd be taken more seriously by everyone. I'm tired of every shot being fired at them being labeled as a "sexist" remark. It's a freaking election, grow a pair, confront the issues, and tell the American public why you should be elected. Put the "sexist" card away, and play a different card.

Local Republicans seem to be frothing over Fey's Palin impersonation. Makes me wonder if they'll all stroke out if Fey wins, because the imitations won't stop and Palin provides no end of material.

Diesel,

Bitching about "sexist" comments and lipstick is all McLiar has.

He is a 95% vote with the current administration agent of change.

Any discussion of real issues will just highlight just how much like Bushco McCain really is. So in order to attempt to fool the voting public, he needs to focus on these important issues. Pay no mind to the man standing behind the curtain.

Sarah Palin is Dan Quayle with glasses and a wig.

Bush reads that and he'll be hard for a week.

Better than Viagra? A week. I know that priapus is a problem, but with some hardy souls who would do anything to recapture their vigor, this might be a go anyway.

Is there any way you can commercialize this response? Can you make it available to the general public?

Fey is just too hot to do better than a pretty good job as Palin. She's a hella funny writer, too.

McCain's folks have been playing the sexist card since they introduced the chick. This was all a planned strategy that, if anyone starts to criticize Palin, cry sexism. And the media i sletting them get away with it. This is where Hillary can really help Obama. She should hold a presser and say something like this. It is truly a great thing to see Sarah Palin in this position. Women should be proud all over America. But Sarah Palin is running for office. This makes her open to critisism. She or McCain can not really expect that she will make it through this election unscathed. It is not seism to question what's inside of a persons mind. It is not sexism to question any part of Palin except what happens in her private life. But even that can be fair game depending on what it is. I advise Sarah Palin to take one on the chinm for women all over the world, becuase a cry for what a cry dont deserve is not helping women anywhere.

As this campaign proceeds, the Republican strategy reminds me of a description I once heard of country music, heavy on emotional and lacking in depth. The SNL skit captured that perfectly.

Is not McCain's advisor Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard who oversaw the nose dive of that company?

I know Dan Quayle. And Sarah Palin is no Dan Quayle.

Ouch.

I saw it and it wasn't sexist. I just didn't laugh. I didn't think the gags were funny or went far enough. but it wasn't sexist. would that it had been, maybe I would have laughed. this argument is a laugh, the repugs need a damn good spanking and sure hope they get a good HARD one.

Sexism = an expression of anything other than praise and adulation for, and the questioning of, Sarah Palin.

Sexism is NOT the expression of the hotness of, or the fantasizing about, Sarah Palin.

Carly you need to stick to running HP. You're cutting 24000 american jobs today. Real Nice!
Trying to make HP look better in the 4th Quarter.

I didn't hear you saying that Rush Limbaugh was sexist for calling her a babe!

What about jokes about Hillary when she was running. You didn't say anything about that!

But the Economy is doing great Right GWB and Dick Cheney and John McCain.

Lets see an snl skit on obama pickin melons or him in a turbin, we can see how fast he yells, "race" yet biden encouraging folks to vote for obama in NC just because he is black, it has come to this for the dems, vote for our guy because he is black, he has no policy, no experience , he has skin color...
