"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let's get that straight. She's a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she's easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me." -- Joe Biden at a rally in Nashua, N.H.

Wonder if Obama has looked at Biden and said "I should have picked Hillary". LOL

Two weeks ago, we were told by no less than Bill Clinton himself that Obama's first major executive decision; i.e., the selection of a running mate, was an act of sheer genius. Now, the guy Obama picked says it would have been smarter to choose someone else -- Bill Clinton's wife.

These next two months promise to be endlessly entertaining.

That's a very nice compliment from Biden to Hillary. I wonder how many people Palin believes are more qualified for the position than her.

Biden finally finds a way to get his name back in print, and he does it by saying some one else should do his job. Priceless.

Obama/Biden '08
Reassuring America

Biden: Obama is a retard for picking me.

Barack Obamas judgment was that Joe Biden was the best possible vice presidential candidate.

Joe Biden says he's wrong.

This was Obama's first major decision as a would-be president.

He got it wrong.

ace.mu.nu

At least he knows he was a stupid pick. Palin thinks Jebus was whispering her name in McCain's ear......

And Biden throws another shovel full of dirt into that fascinating hole his running mate is digging.

He should have just left it as "Hillary Clinton is as qualified" he gives out his nice little compliment and doesnt make Obama look foolish.

Biden : " Darn and heck I knew I should not have written that last blog only one strike left and then it's a 14 day suspension, so this is what China does darn it all !!!!

Why does Joe Biden hate America?

A sly dog remark and Republicans are eating it up like butterd popcorn !!!

But he was also right saying Obama is not ready to be President. Batting 1000 in my book.

Even though most people know Biden as a bullshiting Bloviator and would never take him very seriously, Draft Dodger Joe may have stunbled onto a good idea like a blind pig with lipstick finding an acorn: Obama could fire him and put Hillary on the ticket at any time.

Pointing out how utterly incompetent Palin is may well have been Biden's motive.

Obama could fire him and put Hillary on the ticket at any time.

I thought the same thing on my way to the office this morning. Why would "mia culpa Joe" open this can of worms. This is why repubs love seeing Biden on the ticket. He has proven he never knows when to shut his mouth. Stand up Joe... Oh jeez what am I talking about....? Stand up for Joe... God am I an idiot...

It was simple praise being lauded onto Clinton from Biden, hardly Biden suggesting he "wasnt the right man for the job" as McCain and his fellow rightards try to paint it.

Good luck with that. McCain's antics are being debunked daily in all the major reputable outlets and they're proving that McCain doesn't want to talk issues, but instead, pretend to me bad about 'lipstick on a pig' when he himself has used it numerous times on video.

Offensive flag, Common said "rightards" which implies that "retard" is some sort of insult.

it might have been a better pick than me." -- Joe Biden

is hardly the same thing as saying...

Biden: Obama is a retard for picking me.

So put your drool back in your mouths.

Simple praise would have been

"she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she's easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America"

To continue on to say, "and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me," while maybe could be seen as humility and modesty can also be seen as Biden doubting and lacking confidence in his own abilities. It isnt going to exactly instill confidence in the democratic ticket if its own VP is up there saying There was someone more suited for this but here I am anyway.

At least people aren't trying to read more into this than is there, lmfao!

Retard is not an insult. Rightard is an insult. It means someone is so stupid that they would vote for a rightwing hack like McCain, even after the last 8 years. A retard can't help it, so no shame in that--but to supposedly have a functioning brain and still vote republican is beyond stupid---it is rightarded

"At least people aren't trying to read more into this than is there, lmfao!"

No kidding. Talk about much ado about nothing. Leave it to Drudgies to turn an anthill into a mountain.

EXACTLY !!! Can we finally get back to important issues like this "Lipstick on a Pig" thing again ??
I mean... I really think Obama was calling Palin a pig. Don't you ?

"So put your drool back in your mouths."

It was a stupid thing to say that can only hurt his campaign. Shows a lack of judgement and confidence.

Your arrogance can't hide the fact that you're acting as a knee-jerk apologist. Nobody with a shred of critical thinking ability would think this quote isn't a bit odd.

Perhaps they've considered the source of the quote and just chalked it up to Blowhard Biden's gaffe parade?
I agree with you though. It was at the very least a very clumsy way to send gratitude and respect to Hillary.

p.s. Eat shit!

Offensive enough for you?

I just flagged that as well as the other post where you tried to call me a pedo. That should be two dumps now...

This is not the Joe Biden I know...

I heard a very interesting story this morning that Biden could be laying the groundwork for bailing from the ticket and Obama asking Clinton to take his place. I have heard more far-fetched conspiracies. Someone said the DEMs are worried Palin actually relates to much to working class people and average people, that she is a threat to the entire democratic party. You know the Dem list of things women have to be in order to be considered a real women

1. Pro-choice
2. Pro Gay-Marriage
3. Anti-Gun
4. no more than 2 Kids
5. Men suck
6. Must have a degree from an Ivy League school

Dems think if she because the standard bearer for women, Gloria Steinem and all her kooky friends will be lost. So they may be thinking Clinton is a way to bring them back..

"This is not the Joe Biden I know..."

Really? Who is the Joe Biden you know? The one I know talks so much that inevitably stupid shit like this ends up coming out of his mouth.

NO, THIS MORNING HE KISSED OBAMA`S BUTT AND SAID IT STILL SMELLS GOOD.....SO HE STAYS...

Your arrogance can't hide the fact that you're acting as a knee-jerk apologist.

Care to show where I apologized for anything? I don't feel an apology is necessary, it was a pretty innocuous statement that the righties here are tripping over themselves to overblow.

"Obama could fire him and put Hillary on the ticket at any time."

#13 | Posted by fwthom at 2008-09-11 01:50 PM | Reply

That could backfire veeery easily...to flip flop on your own VP pick? Doesn't show the best judgement. To many its going to say this was my first decision and I already got it wrong. The man wants to be president...to start cry out "do overs" before he's even elected seems to me like it'll bite him in the ass.

"Care to show where I apologized for anything? I don't feel an apology is necessary...."

All that proves is that you don't know what 'apologist' means. It doesn't mean "one who apologizes".

www.merriam-webster.com

"innocuous statement that the righties here are tripping over themselves to overblow"

He said something stupid so people are goofing on him. My post was actually as much a shot as Palin as it was at him.

Wow you libs are grasping. Fire Biden and pick Hillary. You think that much of obammy that you are questioning his VP pick and yet you want him to lead the country? Bush really did a number on you. He did a number on all of us, but he really did a number on you. Creating this community organizer into a presidential candidate through the miracle of white guilt. Just another one of Bush's failures. But you guys do not need to add to it.

If it was Palin who said this, you bunch of Obama cheerleaders would have been all over it. I doubt it would have been considered "a nice compliment" or "simple praise" or "much ado about nothing." He can't even figure out how to compliment someone! After eight years of what many consider to be dumb shit coming out of Bush's mouth, why would you tolerate this?

Joe, Hmmm, if you have to explain a joke... Anyway, isn't that what Obama said about the Rev and some other guy he had to jetison? I was just projecting what Obama is going to say about Joe Biden.

"it was a pretty innocuous statement that the righties here are tripping over themselves to overblow."

The statement itself wasn't really a big deal, but he lacked the judgement to carefully mince his words so as to not draw attention to the fact that Obama didn't pick Hillary, something many think was a big mistake to begin with.

Since, previously, the intelligence with which one runs his or her campaign was somehow linked to experience for the job of POTUS (basically Obama supporters grasping at straws in the experience argument) this is more than just an 'innocuous' statement.

Obama has nothing to worry about. If people are stupid enough to want a President Palin---I hope they get it. However, I do hope the gene pool in America hasn't degraded that much--but after 2000 and 2004---there is a good chance the best of the United States is behind us.

It would have been different race, and Rove would have picked a differnt VP.

I understand Obama's decision. Imagine having Bill in the hallway all the time when you're trying to do your job.

Whenever a Republican to attacks, humiliates, smears, or lies about an opponent the "liberal media" repeats the mantra ad nauseum but if a Democrats does it it reflects poorly on their character and/or qualifications?

Actually I know the answer: the media is another Corporation whose interests are shared by those who provide their revenue stream. Those interests are in direct conflict with the best inerests of working people.

Why is it Democrats and Liberals are always required to provide "proof" and Republicans and Conservatives just take it from "good authority"? This is the sort of back and forth repeated endlessly on this site.

Great post, Buffalo "Lifeguard of the Gene Pool" Bob. If only more women were willing to accept your seed, we'd have a race full of 9/11 conspiracy theorists babbling about the melting temperature of steel. Then, finally, this country could see some real progress!

Maybe Nutcase would be willing to be BuffaloBoobs incubator?
Bani and Skidmark could be the godparents.

Hi all. Are we worked up enough about the wrong things yet?

Yeah those 10 or so stories straight from Huffington to Drudge proven to be false come from good authority. How about CNN? You know Soledad, the doctored picture?

"If only more women were willing to accept your seed, we'd have a race full of 9/11 conspiracy theorists babbling about the melting temperature of steel. Then, finally, this country could see some real progress!"

That's assuming he there is enough Bob to go around when it comes to raising the little moonbats.

If those kids don't get the proper male influence, we could just end up with packs of crazed youths running around assaulting people with car antennas.

Nice job Biden.... Keep up the good work.. What a pit bull.... He is really socking it to McCain.....

And frequenting Denny's!

Anyone think the Clinton's are working with Biden to take Obama down?

How's that for a conspiracy..

This just another wonderful example of why Biden is know as the gaff King. He really needs to learn that not everything he thinks need to come out of his mouth. Stick to the teleprompter Joe.

No, on second thought keep up the good work.

Hi all. Are we worked up enough about the wrong things yet?

#44 | Posted by Stopthelurch at 2008-09-11 03:41 PM

what's up, boxitch?

Biden says this and at the same the Clinton's campaign for Obama... Genius...

Biden's never at a loss for words. I bet Obama just wishes those words helped rather than hurt.

For those Dems in the "Is Palin really the MOST qualified to be Rep VP" camp I wonder what you think of Obama and his selection of Biden - a VP who publicly admits that Hillary might have been a better pick than him.

It's just virtually unthinkable that Biden would say what he said. He also has said he didn't think Obama was ready to be president.

So, if we are to believe Biden, his POTUS running mate isn't ready and Biden himself might not have been the best VP selection. Those quotes will make an interesting October advertisement.

What are the Dems doing - running the "B" team? I wouldn't be surprised to see Biden off the ticket. Obama must be furious at him.

"Anyone think the Clinton's are working with Biden to take Obama down?

How's that for a conspiracy.."

Crossed my mind but I doubt it.

I don't doubt it at all. The Clinton's don't loose and Hillary is one wicked bitch...

At first I thought this was too much self-deprecation from Biden, but it's the kind of praise that could help persuade some Clinton holdouts.

but it's the kind of praise that could help persuade some Clinton holdouts.

Intersting take. Of course it could also rekindle the anger flame as well.

I think Biden's statement is irrelevant.
It doesn't matter who is more qualified.
Biden's selection was political.
So was Palin's.
NO ONE selects a Vice-President on the basis of qualifications any more.
Welcome to the new age.

It is Irrelevant for your VP pick to say he was not the best choice? When people are questioning your ability to make good choices...

Libslayer,
You're missing the point. Biden didn't say he wasn't the best choice. He said he wasn't necessarily the most qualified.
Biden was the best choice politically. He brought a level of experience to a campaign that desperately needed a voice of experience. He brought a note of credibility to someone who is lacking in foreign policy experience. He brought a level of familiarity with how things work inside the Beltway that many feel Obama is lacking.
Quite frankly, the perception is that Hillary doesn't have that level of experience. That's why Biden was chosen.
Biden's remarks went to qualifications, and that is totally irrevelant. He was picked for politics, not qualifications.

"He brought a level of experience to a campaign that desperately needed a voice of experience."

Excellent point... now to build on that, you clearly should vote McCain since Biden, your man of experience, stated in the Dem's debates that Obama was not qualified... and McCain was a better choice.

I suppose this was meant as a compliment to Hilary...or modesty by Biden.....but it's a pretty pathetic statement.

Ferchrissakes, get over it, rightytighties. . .He was just trying to be nice and inclusive towards Hillary...It's called "politics"...Why don't you guys deal with some really, really, really --- yup, serious --- issues like lipstick on pigs?

ummm..have you read the typical threads on this site? please don't try and make me believe the left only addresses serious topics.

Ferchrissakes, get over it, rightytighties. . .He was just trying to be nice and inclusive towards Hillary...It's called "politics"

So I guess the dem debate is out of bounds as well. Just ignore his own words saying his future boss isn't qualified. Gotcha.

I don't remember him saying that.

One clear difference between Palin and Biden is that Palin thinks she is a gift from God and Biden knows he is not.

"Biden...Hillary...Osama...Mrs
. Palin.
Posted by vernon at 2008-09-12 05:22 AM "

Please, Vermin, do yourself a favor: Sober up and go back to work for your Chinese masters.

With his time in the senate, I find it hard to beleive that Biden cannot make a bigger splash than Palin.

I actually felt sorry for Palin last night, not enough to vote for her but the spectacle of her answering questions was painful to watch. She was so unprepared/unknowing I was ashamed for her.

Im sure she is a good person, but she is not ready for prime time.

***"One clear difference between Palin and Biden is that Palin thinks she is a gift from God and Biden knows he is not."***

Right. Have you ever heard this asshole speak, and speak, and speak? He must think pretty highly of himself if he believes we really want to hear he go on and on about nothing.

Fresno, she was as good or better than Nobama

er,,,,ah,,,,and,,,,,oh,,,,errr
,,,,ahh United Nations that's it
