Ask not for whom the bell tolls, Barack.....Hahahahaha!

It ain't over til the fat lady sings but Barack better start doing something. Moving towards the center is not working, he needs to move towards real ideas and the voters will either vote for him or not but this moderate Obama is failing the test.

Moving towards the center is not working

I agree.

Run Left, Boy!

Run Left!

We're part of the Bible belt in NC. Those of faith have been largely lukewarm to McCain for some time. Conservatives in general have been a bit skeptical (campaign finance, immigration, Gang of 14, "maverick")

Palin has been just what the doc ordered for McCain. Well, that and some prune juice.

"Run Left, Boy!"

Bush got elected by running right...tax cuts, war, executive power.
Obama should make his tax policy clear to 90% of the American people. They will either vote for him or not but this nonsense of letting McCheney mislead voters about Obama's tax policies is idiotic and that is exactly what Obama is letting happen. I think if you asked the average person what Obama's tax plan is they will recall the talking point from the McCain campaign.
Obama's ads have been soft and feel good but not clear and powerful. Loud. SIMPLE! If he has to he should simplify his plan to make it more simple for average voters to understand and not be so easily fooled by McCain's lies.

I pretty much agree with all you said. My take is that Obama can't really tell us the truth because to do so would scare the crap out of us. So, following the Dem playbook, he talks the moderate talk in hopes of claiming the middle.

This country is middle right, in my view. That's where McCain already lives. Palin shores up the more conservative elements. Obama and Biden are cut from the same cloth - just that Obama's cleaner and more articulate.

The more Obama veers to the center he plays against McCain. If Obama goes farther left he'll excite his base but alienate others. Add that he's a black Muslim coke addict who swore on the Koran.... :^O

Oohrah, I agree the country is socially about "middle right" and Obama should not compaign on social issues. However, I don't care how conservative you are on social issues the country is going to be bankrupt with four more years of this Bush economic war on the middle class. Obama needs to spell out clearly just how desperate the economic situation is now and more importantly he needs to tell us how bad it WILL be getting under McCain. Many social conservatives did not agree with Franklin Roosevelt but the country needed him at the time and he was elected with the help of some of those people, we need the same thing to happen again. If you care how your children will live in the coming decades then voting against the Bush economic policies that John McCain says he wants to continue is an absolutely necessary thing.

McCain says now that he knows how hard things are when just a few weeks ago he was saying exactly the opposite. He says he wants those tax cuts permanent and they are the cause of much of what is wrong. He says he wants more "free trade" when jobs are leaving at an alarming rate already.

I honestly do not understand how anyone can believe this man and vote for him.

That Bush's third term thing is getting old.

DANNI-
If Obama feels as you do, then he should be candid with his beliefs, goals, and objectives. That way, if he gets elected, he'll have somewhat of a mandate to carry out those proposals.

I have my doubts and concerns about McCain and I've shared them in probably more detail than you care to hear again. Suffice to say beyond his national defense views and his desire to reign in special interests, I'm lukewarm on much of the rest of his agenda. OK, maybe tax cuts, too... but he voted against them the first time.

I don't care for his views on illegal immigration (amnesty), his role in forging campaign finance reform... his role in the Gang of 14... his purposeful stiff arm toward evangelicals... and what I perceive as a wooden personna - boring, but with a temper.

A ringing endorsement, eh?

A perfect description of John McSame!

Keep bangin' the drum, Dems, on "Bush's third term". Most Americans know Bush isn't on the ballot, and tens of millions of us remember that McCain almost left the Republican Party in 2004--something that many of us have yet to forgive him for.

Fact is, as retarded as many of the Dem voters are, they might be surprised to find Bush nowhere on the ballot, and just vote for the guy on the first line. You know--kinda like those Palm Beach County voters did, when their voters' guide said to vote for Pat Buchanan, and they dutifully did so.
