Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Sarah Palin and her GOP supporters spent Wednesda night praising her credentials and atatcking Barack Obama. In so doing, they twisted the truth as if it was taffy.

"A whopper. Palin got 616 votes in the 1996 mayor's election, and got 909 in her 1999 re-election race, for a total of 1,525. Biden dropped out of the race after the Iowa caucuses, but he still got 76,165 votes in 23 states and the District of Columbia where he was on the ballot during the 2008 presidential primaries. "

a day full of lies and deceit

they truly are George W. Bush's party.

I was impressed with the number of obvious lies Palin told in her first major speech. I'm sorry I compared her with Gidget: Gidget was an honest little girl.

I was impressed with the number of obvious lies Palin told in her first major speech

I found it postiviely breathtaking.

Palin's new to the game, but Huckleberry's and Mutt's performances met the high bar one must put into place for major league political whores.

I found it postiviely breathtaking.

Me too. One right after another, and when she wasn't lying she was stretching the truth.

I also found it odd that she would be so sarcastic as she was. It wasn't attractive, and sarcasm (something I am quite guitly of being at times) is rooted in condescention. I felt this odd tension when she directed her comments towards Obama. It left me feeling that Obama and Michelle are much more real, more down to earth.

Today on MSNBC, one of McCain's people said they had just written the speech the day before. That too, is a lie. The McCain campaign person then said National Press has no right to ask Palin any questions, and they will be denied access to her.

I'm afraid lying in the McCain campaign is systemic.

"They will be denied access to her...."

Well, that sure surprises the hell out of me.

It left me feeling that Obama and Michelle are much more real, more down to earth.

You've got to be shitting me!

More real.

She and her family couldn't be more of a microchosm of blue-collar America.

Contrast that with Mr. Ivy League.

"The McCain campaign person then said National Press has no right to ask Palin any questions, and they will be denied access to her."

Not trying to badger you, but I'd sure like to see a link to that. I've been saying it all morning. There's just no way they can allow anyone other than a shill to have free access to her.

The toughest "interviewers" she is likely to face will be Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

BS

Her family are wacked out right wing loons. She has more in common with an FLDS cult than she does with blue collar America.

Cheer up, sheep. Even Jesus had critics. The Chosen One/Organizer will rise again.

There's just no way they can allow anyone other than a shill to have free access to her.

Then McCain loses.

She is now the buzz of this election, BY FAR.

If the press is denied access to her; picking her backfires. Big time.

You've got to be shitting me!

Not at all. I said that Palin made Obama and Michelle seem that way by the way Palin attacked.

It was on Morning Joe this morning. The McCain person was a blond woman. Sorry I didn't catch her name. She said she helped writing the speech Palin gave.

Oh, and she said that directly to the guy from TIME magazine who was sitting to her right.

I see the Left is up and running with this one as well. Why is it, people have a hard time saying anything positive? During her entire speech, did she not say anything that the left aggress with? Oh yeah, one leftists did. Biden thought it was a great speech. When are the dogs going to stop whining and follow the lead dog? (common guys, it was an accepting / introduction speech, not an explanation of the Republican Platform)

"...and her GOP supporters spent Wednesda night..."

For a chronic drunk, posting at 5 am, I gotta say that I'm kinda impressed with Doc_SlurredVish

A- for style and delivery (She gets the minus because she went on a bit too long and started to sound a little smarmy at times)

D for honesty and accuracy of content.

A for support of McCain

Rogue,

I appreciate your honesty.

I just re-watched the speech.

The deliver was exceptional, to say the least - she seems to be a natural.

No problem disagreeing with the content.

Nevertheless, it takes a pure hack to state that her delivery was anything less than 'very good'.

For a chronic drunk posting at 10:17 AM (EST)you got most of what you wanted to say on the screen. I'd steer clear of that calculator if I was you, though.

Palin, as a former beauty queen pagent contestant and Miss Congeniality winner, had the poise and delivery I would have expected from someone who can march around in high heels and a swimsuit or evening gown while talking about how she wants to improve the world. This is not a sexist comment. If you think wearing a skimpy swimsuit and high heels on a large stage is easy, you try it.

Chris Matthews is saying she is like Norma Rae. I think she was when she talked about her personal life but not when she talked about Obama and Biden. Her tone was snarky, snide and sarcastic--something Norma Rae never was. Also, Norma Rae was a kind of community organizer, the very people Palin trashed. Rae was sincere, sympathetic and passionate. She was a pitbull in lipstick, but she always spoke from the heart, something Palin didn't do once she got off the topic of her family. Palin isn't Norma Rae. Sorry, Chris.

As to content: no one wonder she won't talk to the MSM; they'd fact check her statements in a way that a bunch of Republican delegates at a convention never will.
