Could this possibly be MORE of a tempest in a teapot. It is obviously not an Israeli flag. The Star of David on that is large and takes up the center 2/3 of the flag. The star on that pin is a tiny thing in the center.

Stay with the video (linked at the end of my post) and watch it all the way through. It's about hiking in Juneau, Alaska (kinda neat and quirky in a "Northern Exposure" sort of way) and towards the end of the video the narrator meets up with Palin and they walk to her Governor's office. Inside her office, tucked in the middle of her office curtain on the left, you will see the blue and white flag of Israel and you don't need a microscope to find it either.
