Yet another thread that matters...

All those John Edwards stories from the Enquirer were quickly posted on the front page too right?

Just because they got one story right does not make The Enquirer a reputable news source.

Ohhhh geeee, now the Enquirer makes the pages of DR. Amazing. Lets hear all those comments that were anti-Enquirer during the Edwards fiasco.

Has the Enquirer been notably "wrong" these past few years? I don't think so. They leave that to The Globe.

All those John Edwards stories from the Enquirer were quickly posted on the front page too right?

Uhh yeah...64 point font on the front page.

Can kids get married in Alaska? Last time I checked her daughter was 17 which is not what I would hope the legal marriage age is.

I'm sure this is completely wrong, and the Palin family will be suing immediately...just like John Edwards did.

But Bristol, 17, refused to go along with the plan

At least one of them has some sense.

Lets hear all those comments that were anti-Enquirer during the Edwards fiasco.

Gee, musta been napping-when did John Edwards get the VP nomination?

But keep spinning guys-this is oly the tip of the iceberg for the Palintanic. John shoulda let the big head decide, not the wrinkly old little one.

Uhh yeah...64 point font on the front page.

I believe that was when Edwards admitted what happened...

And the enquirer had more then one headline on Edwards... if I remember correctly some of us righties here were wondering why the topic wasn't being discussed here.

Now all of a sudden the Enquirer is the freaking NY Times...

All those John Edwards stories from the Enquirer were quickly posted on the front page too right?

Yes they were. Five times, beginning in October when news first broke. All of these stories made the front page:

With parental consent, she could get hitched in Alaska at 16.

You would actually know this?

How pathetic

This story is like two days old and I'm already sick of hearing about it. I hate the fact that sensationalism drives media ratings.

Which one did they get right, the Rush Limbaugh Oxycontin addiction or the John Edwards affair?

I will kindly go fuck myself...

Look on the bright side. At least you didn't fall for that Fake Todd Palin video. You have no idea how much shit I'm taking for that, and not just here on the Retort.

Rob

can you honestly say Palin is the best the Repubs could have done? or that the way they went about it is the smartest and most effective?

that's ok RC I fell for the Momma was pretending to be pregnant to hide the daughter's pregnancy. at least you deleted that story

And the enquirer had more then one headline on Edwards... if I remember correctly some of us righties here were wondering why the topic wasn't being discussed here.

I don't want this to be a place where the big political story everybody is talking about isn't here. So when a story fucks the Dems, like Edwards' affair or Rev. Wright's speech in DC, I put it on the front page and then sob inconsolably for a few hours.

No... but I blame that on Obama. The best people for the VP spot are middle aged to older white men. But because Obama is in the race and a heavy frontrunner, McCain an old white guy, couldn't pick another white guy... It wouldn't have helped him. McCain needed to gamble with his pick... hence this lady. Sometimes gambling works... sometimes it doesn't (i.e. Post #2 on this thread).

personally I wanted him to convince Bloomberg to run, or even Lieberman... but that's just not possible given who he's running against.

I want it on the record that I'm sticking around to take the well desreved ass kicking for my overzealousness...

I'm off to lunch...

Palin Sought Daughter's Quickie Marriage

..........shame, SHAME....she should have encouraged that quickie abortion instead. Plus, Ness Gadol loves the practice.

THE DR LEFT

"It wouldn't have helped him. McCain needed to gamble with his pick... hence this lady. Sometimes gambling works... sometimes it doesn't (i.e. Post #2 on this thread)."

Nice of McCain to "gamble" with his choice of the person who will be a heart beat away from the presidency. This shows more than just a bad VP choice, this shows very poor judgement. This demonstrates that John McCain should not be president.

"Which one did they get right, the Rush Limbaugh Oxycontin addiction or the John Edwards affair?"

#22 | Posted by 726

What does that put there success rate at? The best lies are told with a grain of truth.

Quickie marriage, quickie Obama victory, quickie divorce in Vegas.

All before moose hunting season.

I don't know why the ditzes didn't just claim Immaculate Conception. The GOPhers would have bought it hook line and sinker.

" and Palins attempt to cover up her teen daughters pregnancy"

Doesn't make sense...Time reporter seemed to feel it wasn't any deep dark secret. Anybody visiting the town and asking a few questions apparently could have found out.

In Wasilla, Pregnancy Was No Secret

I can understand Palin wanting to announce it before the rags did.

I have to tell some of you hacks since you apparently don't have the sense to know:

Picking on Palin's 17 year old daughter is not going to make Palin look bad. It makes you look bad and to some people it will make the politicians you support look bad.

Plus, all this focus on the daughter takes away from topics where Palin can legitimately be criticized: That she's a fake reformer who is being investigated for abusing power and who supported the bridge to nowhere vehemently before it became a symbol of idiotic government waste in the popular culture.

Wow, a parent quietly sought the marriage of a pregnant teenage daughter to the father of the expectant child.

Americans will never relate to something so outlandish.

Sully most folks here are not picking on her daughter, they are just seeing how selfish Sarah Palin really is....to try to force a 17 year old into a marriage to protect her political career....sorry but the woman did all this to herself.

Sully understands it.

If this is true, it's sad that the Palins wanted to let political considerations drive the marriage of their daughter. If they wanted to get married in response to the pregnancy, that should be their decision. And their timetable.

Sully most folks here are not picking on her daughter, they are just seeing how selfish Sarah Palin really is,,, Really? How so?

to try to force a 17 year old into a marriage to protect her political career....sorry but the woman did all this to herself.
And you know this because the enquirer said so. Last week it also reported and Elvis sighting.

Kerrin-Mcsame screwed up:

"ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 2 -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was not subjected to a lengthy in-person background interview with the head of Sen. John McCain's vice presidential vetting team until last Wednesday in Arizona, the day before McCain asked her to be his running mate, and she did not disclose the fact that her 17-year-old daughter was pregnant until that meeting, two knowledgeable McCain officials acknowledged Tuesday."

That's exactly right. There are more important and more relevant issues with the book-banning burgermeister of Mooseville. And those are issues that will not gather sympathy for her.

My biggest fear right now is that McCain will tell her to go home to Alaska and then choose a more qualified candidate.

All those John Edwards stories from the Enquirer were quickly posted on the front page too right?

Naw... if you want balanced coverage of fuck ups on both sides of the aisle, go to the REAL drudge site. This site is just some liberal guy's hobby that we all feed. Lohan and now the Enquirer, rcade? I'm going to call you pcade (Perez Cadenhead) from now on.

Yes. He needs a lesbian. Lindsay Lohan had some kewl thoughts in her blog [link main page]. Maybe she's interested.

My new bumper sticker:

FREE BRISTOL PALIN.

This IS a meaningful story. Sarah Palin disapproves of reproductive rights AND any form of meaningful sex education. Abstinence only! So the expected happens and the 17-year-old must pay.

Sarah Palin, a worthy hunting crony for Dickie Cheney, also tried to have fired a librarian who wouldn't pull a book to which she objected. She probably IS Republicanism's finest moment. herm

"Yes. He needs a lesbian."

OK, I nominate Rachel Madowe.

My biggest fear right now is that McCain will tell her to go home to Alaska and then choose a more qualified candidate.

I had similar thoughts, Danni. What if this blows up and the Republicans dump both McCain and Palin and replace them with Mitt and Huckabee? I think that would be a ticket that would truly unite the Republican party--both the social conservatives and the economic ones. Such a ticket would be weak on foreign policy though.

"Sully most folks here are not picking on her daughter, they are just seeing how selfish Sarah Palin really is....to try to force a 17 year old into a marriage to protect her political career....sorry but the woman did all this to herself."

First there was the thread spreading the lie that Palin's last kid was really the daughter's. Then there was a the thread about the daughter being pregnant. Now this one. Seems to be an unhealthy fixation from where I'm sitting....

As for her urging her daughter to marry: Palin freely admits to being a social conservative. You don't need this example to prove it. And you aren't going to convince anyone that her way of thinking is wrong by picking on her kid.

Here is a legitimate question

SO you lefties say that her 17 year old having a baby and marrying the father at 18 is some kind of scandal correct?

So what is allowing 13 year old girls to have abortions without telling their parents?

"My biggest fear right now is that McCain will tell her to go home to Alaska and then choose a more qualified candidate."

It should be that the jackals are turning Palin from a punch line into a sympathetic figure who has to courageously defend her family.

Bloomberg???? I honestly thought you had commonsense Rob!

Herr Bloomberg??? Gimme a break!!!

"So what is allowing 13 year old girls to have abortions without telling their parents?"

Either a 13 year old who has probably been raped by Daddy or a child who's parents care nothing about her. Either way it's very sad but still I would be glad that a legal, safe abortion was available to her.

Bristol might just have a mind of her own and refuse to get married at all.

Ain't over yet. Especially if little Bristol is a stubborn butt-head like her momma.

"What if this blows up and the Republicans dump both McCain and Palin and replace them with Mitt and Huckabee?"

Anything is possible and that would be a ticket harder for Obama to beat that McSame/Palin.

If the Republicans dump Palin, they're toast. You can't prove to the public that you don't have your shit together by blowing up the veep and still win the election. McCain's whole spiel is based on him being the safe pick.

The same daughter was out of school for five months on account of an "auto accident". Meanwhile her Mother, the Governor, took twelve hours "from the time her water broke", first giving a speech, then catching a plane, "to have the retarded baby", afterwhich the daughter had "recovered" from her auto accident and returned to school. Pictures of Governor Palin, allegedly at 7 months pregant, show no signs of pregnancy whatsoever.

Not that I know anything, but these facts are consistent with the mother covering for the daughter during her first pregnancy. A little sex education might be in order, huh?

So, they want to paint McCain as a safe bet and a maverick. Since when are mavericks a safe bet?

So if that 13 year old girl was raped, would you whine if that rapist was castrated so he couldn't do it again, Or is that too terrible. since abortion is just a medical procedure, isn't castration?

The irony that pisses me off is that Palin slashed funding for a home for unwed teenage mothers that provides job training and classes in good mothering skills.

Palin Slashed Funds for Unwed Teenage Mothers

voices.washingtonpost.com

I'm not picking up a lot of 'compassionate conservatism' here. Same old same old - and in a state where they had the funds to help these unwed mothers, but chose to mail out close to a billion in oil revenue checks while slashing a couple much needed million to help these kids.

A shotgun wedding how nice. Rethugs your days are numbered.

Nice job following the request of your messiah and laying off the inappropriate speculation. What's next? Michael Moore demanding a full GYN workup on the daughter in an attempt to prove prior delivery? Despicable, and puts you in the same class as Limbaugh and his Chelsea joke.

Good post, AU. Let's keep tying these things back to the issues. Not all unwed teenage mothers are lucky enough to have a mother who is a governor and in control of funding for others like her.

HILLYBILLY too many variables in a charge of "rape".
Certainly some serial rapists deserve castration but then there are also the cases of "rape" which is a one time event and is even possibly consensual to begin with. I don't think punishments should be mandated on any crimes, there should be some judicial discretion within reasonable guidelines.

Don't let us keep you from it, then.

S'ok SanAn, I know from his replies earlier in the thread that RCade does get both sides on here, but the tendency is to stick with with hard proven fact with lefty subjects, while allowing for speculation and innuendo to be included for rightie subjects. Linking to Lohan's blog? WTF? And besides, I still have some sand left.

AU--Sarah helped get funds to women crisis centers--

article.nationalreview.com

For those that don't want to read Murphy's entire linked article here is 100% of what National Review has to say about palin's efforts to help pregnant women.

"She helped keep crisis-pregnancy centers which provide support for women who might otherwise feel forced into having abortions open by providing very modest city funding."

That's it, no figures, no facts, just one sentence.

voices.washingtonpost.com

ST. PAUL -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee who revealed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live. After the legislature passed a spending bill in April, Palin went through the measure reducing and eliminating funds for programs she opposed. Inking her initials on the legislation -- "SP" -- Palin reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers.
According to Passage House's web site, its purpose is to provide "young mothers a place to live with their babies for up to eighteen months while they gain the necessary skills and resources to change their lives" and help teen moms "become productive, successful, independent adults who create and provide a stable environment for themselves and their families."

That's it, no figures, no facts, just one sentence.

Kind of like Obama's platform.

Oh.....this makes your bitch look bad

Misogyny, thy name is COMMONSENSE.

All the mysogyny here would be shocking if so many of you weren't such catty little queens.

That's all well and good she did that in Wisilla, pop 9000.

You can't explain away why she'd slash funding at the state level for a home for teenage unwed mothers that offered job training and lessons in mothering skills at a time she had no problems sending out a billion in oil revenue checks to Alaskans and funding projects for hunters.

Here's a pic that made me sick. It looks like the thing suffered quite a bit:

In all honesty I think you guys are trying to convince yourselves she's a shit candidate... McCain isn't going to dump Palin... Palin as far as his campaign goes was a great pick. It took Obama off the front page the day after he walked on water and fed millions with just a fish and the ambrosia from his nipples, it got Dobson and the rest of the lunatic far right to back him immediately and then she brought in like ten million dollars for him.

Is she the best the GOP has to offer? No. Can she step right in a be a great president? The argument that she can is the same that Obama gives for himself...

I think you guys are really trying to convince yourselves she sucks, but I'm betting in the backs of your heads you are a little worried this ridiculous gamble might just work.

Do you mean... do you possibly mean that Obama is BLACK ? Wowzers !

Old white guy picking old white guy to run with against new exciting black man would be toast. Obama could just keep saying how McCain represents the past and nothing else, and to a degree he'd be right... now McCain has something new and exciting on his side that will speak to a very large voting group in independent women. Don't know if it will work, but it will work better then two old white guys.

If calling Palin a "bitch" is acceptable I imagine calling Barack a nigger must be fair game too, or is there a double standard on the discrimination?

If by "nigger" you mean He that can walk on water, heal the sick with His noble gaze, and raise the dead to new life with His smile, then it's an accurate description of Obama.

In light of how skanky her familiy is, everyone knows Palin must be a bitch so that is no big deal.

"Aides Say Team Interviewed Palin Late in the Process

www.washingtonpost.com

(less than someone applying for assistant manager at Applebee's would be interviewed)"

AU:

Here's my favorite sentence from that article:

"One U.S. law enforcement official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue, said the FBI does not conduct any kind of background checks or criminal history searches on behalf of political candidates or parties."

In other words, the McCain claimed that Palin was subjected to a type of vetting that does not exist.

There is more on this from Marc Ambinder of the Atlantic Monthly, here:

marcambinder.theatlantic.com

It continues to amaze me how the McCain-raisers think that any old thing they'd like to say is supposed to be swallowed whole, with no checking.

Oh, but MARY, in the article McCain's campaign manager , Rick Davis, said they did. It MUST be true, right (snark)

The Federal Bureau of Investigation did not participate in the vetting of Gov. Sarah Palin and did not conduct a background check as part of the process, an FBI spokesman said today.

The Washington Post reported Sunday, citing an interview with campaign manager Rick Davis, that the vetting process "included reviews of financial and other personal data, an FBI background check and considerable discussion among the handful of McCain advisers nvolved in the deliberations.

"In general, we do not do vetting for political campaigns except as it might regard investigations needed for security clearances," said John Miller, the chief FBI spokesperson.

Is she the best the GOP has to offer? No. Can she step right in a be a great president? The argument that she can is the same that Obama gives for himself...

One of the arguments Obama makes is that he will surround himself with good people. Another argument he makes is that he ran against the Clinton machine and won. Time will tell about Palin. In the meantime, I'd like to know more about her appointments as governor and how she ran her campaigns as mayor and governor.

In addition, Obama has set forth platforms on all kinds of foreign and domestic issues. Does Palin have similar plans? If so, what are they? Another thing we know about Obama is that, like Reagan, he writes most of his own speeches. Does Palin, and will she now that she is running for VP?

Now we use the Enquirer as news?

There are worse things than being a single mother with support from a wealthy, influential family, the hockey dude may be as bad as the trooper her aunt married.

Now we use the Enquirer as news?

Weren't they the ones who ucovered John Edwards's affair?

In addition, Obama has set forth platforms on all kinds of foreign and domestic issues. Does Palin have similar plans?

You wouldn't know it by this site, but Palin is actually the Vice Presidential candidate. Its not her place to put forth platforms on foreign and domestic issues, that's John McCain's job.

One of the arguments Obama makes is that he will surround himself with good people

So would she.

Weren't they the ones who ucovered John Edwards's affair?

Oh....My.........God. That is the worst thing I have ever heard of.

"Can she step right in a be a great president? "

She can hunt moose okay fine.

Can she go toe to claw with Bear and Dragon?

Methinks no.

No Maggie she be.

"It's about time that America had a breast-feeding woman on the Security Council!"

Quote heard on one of the news channels. Quie the endorsement.

Can she go toe to claw with Bear and Dragon?

But she won't have to... certainly not right away... Obama would. Can he?

The bottom line on Palin's daughter's situation is Palin was selfish as hell in accepting the nod with her daughter going through the most traumatic event a teenage girl can go through. She didn't give a thought to the fact he daughter would need her more than ever and chose her own political aspirations over what would be best for her daughter.

Also, there's no way she could have expected this to stay under the radar, and even then didn't consider how devastating the publicity could be piled on top of the emotional storm her daughter was already going through as a pregnant teenager.

Palin's actions were selfish as hell.

Almost as bad as Joe Biden taking his first term Senate oath at the hospital with his sons, and his wife and daughter DEAD.

ABOUT SARAH PALIN

I have known Sarah since 1992. . . .It is . . . almost scary how well she can keep a secret. She is savvy. She doesn't take positions; she just "puts things out there" and if they prove to be popular, then she takes credit. . . . During her mayoral administration most of the actual work of running this small city was turned over to an administrator. She had been pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had given rise to a recall campaign.

During her 6 years as Mayor, she increased . . . expenditures by over 33%. During those same 6 years . . . taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. . . . She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million. $15m-plus for construction of a multi-use sports complex which she rushed through to build on a piece of property that the City didn't even have clear title to, that was still in litigation 7 yrs later--to the delight of the lawyers involved! . . . While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office redecorated more than once.

She's not very tolerant of divergent opinions or open to outside ideas or compromise. As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren't generated by her or her staff. Ideas weren't evaluated on their merits, but on the basis of who proposed them. . . . People who fought her attempt to oust the Librarian are on her enemies list to this day.

Sarah complained about the "old boy's club" when she first ran for Mayor, so what did she bring Wasilla? A new set of "old boys". Palin fired most of the experienced staff she inherited. At the City and as Governor she hired or elevated new, inexperienced, obscure people, creating a staff totally dependent on her for their jobs and eternally grateful and fiercely loyal--loyal to the point of abusing their power to further her personal agenda

She has bitten the hand of every person who extended theirs to her in help. Fear of retribution has kept all of these people from saying anything publicly about her. . . . The State party leaders hate her because she has bit them in the back and humiliated them. Other members of the party object to her self-description as a fiscal conservative. Around Wasilla . . . call her "Sarah Barracuda" because of her unbridled ambition and predatory ruthlessness. (T)here's a lot of people who have underestimated her and are regretting it.

CLAIM VS FACT *" Experienced": Some high schools have more students than Wasilla has residents. Many cities have more residents than the state of Alaska. No legislative experience other than City Council. Little hands-on supervisory or managerial experience; needed help of a city administrator to run town of about 5,000. *gutsy: absolutely! *open & ransparent: ??? Good at keeping secrets. Not good at explaining actions. *"a Greenie": no. Turned Wasilla into a wasteland of big box stores and disconnected parking lots. Is pro-drilling off-shore and in ANWR. *pro-tax relief: Lowered taxes for businesses, increased tax burden on residents *pro-small government: No. Oversaw greatest expansion of city government in Wasilla's history.

I don't know how much of this is factual, but I hope some MSM reporters do the research.

You wouldn't know it by this site, but Palin is actually the Vice Presidential candidate. Its not her place to put forth platforms on foreign and domestic issues, that's John McCain's job.

Doesn't she have any opinions of her own? Biden put forth his positions when he was running for president.

WISGOD

Biden was home every late afternoon.

Palin will be on the campaign trail in the glare of the media.

If you can't understand the difference....

Is that the GOP talking point of the day?

For the love of God, she was just selected. Retrack your claws!

That's rich coming from you, A-Pew/Mr. KOS.

One of the arguments Obama makes is that he will surround himself with good people

Anthony Lake, Clinton's original national security adviser, is helping coordinate foreign policy. So is Susan Rice, a Clinton assistant secretary of state and protege of former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Other top campaign advisers on national security include Gregory Craig, a Clinton impeachment defense attorney and former director of policy planning in the Clinton State Department, and Clinton Navy Secretary Richard Danzig.Sarah Sewall, a Harvard Kennedy School professor and former Clinton Defense Department official.Foreign policy/national security. Anthony Lake(Bill Clinton national security adviser)Susan Rice
(Clinton assistant secretary of state for African affairs) David Cutler(Health economist, Harvard professor and member of Clinton White House Council of Economic Advisers.Jeffrey Liebman(Economist, Harvard professor and member of Clinton White House Council of Economic Advisers.Dan Tarullo (International trade expert, Georgetown law professor and former Bill Clinton economic adviser.Eric Holder(Clinton deputy attorney general.Deputy chief of staff to then-Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin....

So these are the so called good people? Clinton advisors? Pray tell how this is change?

For the love of God, she was just selected. Retrack your claws!

Yes, but according to McCain she was thoroughly vetted. Are you telling me that McCain pick someone for his VP who has no opinions of her own? How convenient.

" how this is change?"

The tax code.
The Supreme Court.
The war in Iraq.

That's a good enough start for me.

We'll never know as long as the McCain campaign keeps muzzling her.

Don't be a tool.

She has the biggest speech of her life tonight.

For some strange reason, I suspect she has been dedicating her time to preparation for it.

Now, if after the convention she goes into a shell, I would agree with you on this.

Yes, but according to McCain she was thoroughly vetted. Are you telling me that McCain pick someone for his VP who has no opinions of her own? How convenient.

I'm telling you to take a pill and wait until her speech tonight. Christ....

"Can she go toe to claw with Bear and Dragon?

But she won't have to... certainly not right away... Obama would. Can he?"

Apart from the mundane tasks to be performed as set down in the Constitution and US Law, Veeps have been historically used for diplomatic missions, foreign policy reps, envoys, and lightening rods. Dirty deals done cheap out of the spotlight where the roaches crawl. Can she successfully don the helmet and cape of Darth Cheney? Be a good Sith, Darth Palin, while Emperor McCain sits on the throne cackles his way into dementia?

Can Obamacles tango with Bear and Dragon and not get own paw crushed? Maybe, but he needs to be as hard ass as his wife. Just look into those eyes. She be one scary bitch.

"Don't be a tool."

Don't be a fool. Any experienced VP candidate like Kay Bailey Hutchinson would've been on the Sunday talk shows.

Like she's writing her own speech, were you two born yesterday?

How does that apply to the former Clinton advisors who now steer Obama?

As most of you already know, I view the mainstream media as biased left. That said, the vitriolic attacks against Governor Palin even caught me by surprise. The blogs are one thing, but mainstream media engaging in such utterly blatant partisanship???

If Obama is as smart as he's reputed to be, he will go on the offensive - in defense of Sarah Palin. If he does, he will earn my respect as an adept strategist. This WILL backfire - mark my words. What the media has been doing is beyond despicable. My god!! This woman has much to be criticized and scrutinized for. Yet, most of you, including your puppet-masters in the media focus on the stupidest and most offensive shit possible. I think Obama recognizes this, hence his immediate repudiation of such attacks.

If we've ever had a blatantly-open display of a biased-left media, this is it.

I'm telling you to take a pill and wait until her speech tonight. Christ....

Written by former Bush WH speechwriter Matt Scully - an updated version of the speech he wrote a week ago for the presumed male VP pick.

And just keep calling me "Mr. KOS".

Since you've probably never visited the site I'll tell you I peruse only the 'Recommended Diaries', which are based primarily on MSM media stories of the day. Of course, to you, any news from the 'drive by media' (MSM) is total bunk. We should believe Foxand the right wing propaganda machine and totally discount verified stories such as McCain's campaign manager stating the FBI vetted Palin when the FBI themselves say they didn't.

I don't believe a friggin' word that comes out of the right wing propaganda machine.

The only thread I read all the way through was from a meteorologist who wrote a detailed piece on Hanna and Ike. The only 'talking points' I picked up from there had to do with barometric pressure and computer model predictions of landfall. GASP!

Sorry you find the truth offensive JJ.

Vitriolic, that's funny.

How does that apply to the former Clinton advisors who now steer Obama?

You mean the bright and pragmatic people who advised Bill Clinton and assisted in leading to years of prosperity and strong fiscal policy?

"You mean the bright and pragmatic people who advised Bill Clinton and assisted in leading to years of prosperity and strong fiscal policy?"

Yeah...those people.

Because the 9% rise in the DJIA during Bush's term is so superior to the 225% rise during Clinton's.

If we've ever had a blatantly-open display of a biased-left media, this is it.

#125 | Posted by JeffJ at 2008-09-03 02:56 P

Why would you say that Jeff? Just because a news organization like Reuters prints lunatic blog rumors as mainstream news?

McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" that have circulated on liberal blog sites.

According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in April to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.
