Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Republicans swung their convention back on a political track today after a pause for Hurricane Gustav, giving President Bush a short eight-minute prime-time speaking slot via satellite to promote John McCain's candidacy. Former Democrat Joe Lieberman and TV star and former Sen. Fred Thompson also got speaking roles.

Will Phred be awake?

OMG they are gonna let Bush speak!

I am not sure I can take 8 minutes of Bushshit.

8 minutes? Is that it? I bet we get at least 20 references to 9/11 in those 8 minutes.

Eight minutes for Bush? Hell, that's about the same length of time as a Pepsi commercial.

Wouldn't you think the most beloved, ethical, kind, generous, and overall extremely qualified military leader the world has ever known would be given time to make his case?

They all know the best thing to do is just to STFU.

The "Twin Cities" earn their appelation tonight!

"Former Democrat Joe Lieberman and TV star and former Sen. Fred Thompson also got speaking roles."

Hopefully Thampson will be the last speaker, that way everyone justs goes to sleep.

And yet, no Ron Paul.

"Eight minutes for Bush?"

If he was talking about Barry's experience, he'd have 7 minutes, 59 seconds, 23 milliseconds to kill.

Bi-Curious George gets 8 minutes airtime and that via Satellite?

Dumbya, yer such a fucking coward it's pathetic.

Wonder wots on the menu there.

Wot tried and true lies will he trot out?

"Sound fundamentals in the economy"? Seems likely.

"Successful Surge"? Of course.

"Only history can judge if we were right"?

Will be the refrain on Iraq.

Prolly won't mention the way he sandbagged Johnny back in 2000 with the race baiting push polls about John's mixed race luff-chile.

Ixnay also on the fact that the economy is slipping into nightmare territory, the loss of American prestige overseas, the spiraling energy and healthcare costs, the overly divisive social agenda he's tried to push down folks throats, his politicization of the DoJ scandal, the torture scandals, the spying scandals, the Plame scandal, etc etc ad nauseaum.

Guess that just leaves him the weather to talk about, eh.

Good luck with THAT!

G08ama!

Be Well.

A remote 8 minutes for GW?

Perhaps it will be a stallion milking tutorial Live! from Crawford.

now i know that i dragged this man thru the mud in the past (karls fault) even though he served his country above and beyond while i hunkered down in ablama. any ways please votee fer him.

gw.

btw, if i wasnt in the closet i would think his running mate is hot (((((ggaaawwwwd)))

Aww, I guess Lieberman doesn't get a big hug from George if he is only speaking by satellite.

They're so funny except they're also the personification of evil, like Putin and Hussein, only more deadly.

If he was talking about Barry's experience, he'd have 7 minutes, 59 seconds, 23 milliseconds to kill.

YEAH!

So that why he sat there looking stupid as america was under attack!
He was thinking about Obamas Experance!

And yet, no Ron Paul.

Way to listen to your own party members. The guy who kicked both Thompson's and Rudi's asses all over the primary season gets dissed? Yet they get to speak?

My friend and his girlfriend are at the Ron Paul convention.

I should ask him if he brought his camera...

What time did you pull the cork today?

"Hopefully Thampson will be the last speaker, that way everyone justs goes to sleep."

Put him on around 7:30 p.m.....the convention won't be any duller.

Homer Simpson (After kicking all politicians out of his house): You too Fred Thompson!

Fred Thompson: But I was in Die Hard!

Homer Simpson: Pfftt... Die Hard 2...

" John McCain is apparently our candidate and Sarah has a nicer set than Laura, so vote for her, I mean him. Talk about your eyed-racky stander-upperer!

Now watch this drive."

Homer Simpson: Pfftt... Die Hard 2...

haha

die hard 2 was awesome!

If he's touting his successes over the last eight years, he won't even open his mouth but just stand there like an idiot grinning for the whole time. Or, on the other hand, he might ask the nation to help him find the WMDs in Iraq before his term is up.

The president will address the convention by satellite from the White House for about eight minutes.

Immediately following, network coverage will go to commercials while haz-mat teams converge on the hall to remove any and all toxic residue...

FF BOBSF !!!!!

That was REALLY funny!

I picture them wiping down the giant screen and speakers

Remember that little gizmo Will Smith had in the movie Men in Black? Push a little button and ZAP, a bright flash of light, no memory of the event at all!

It'll be like that.

Fred is supposed to go after the media over Sarah and her daughter.

My names Dumbya and I'm here to talk TERRRRROR.....all TERRRRR all the TIME!!

Boggety Boogety..........be afraid....or I'll raise the threat level to purple...don't make me do it!!

I have to wonder if Georgie-poo will come out in his cheerleader uniform and start waving his pom poms the way he did when he was in school.

Face it, Redneck handed your half-retarded joke back to you with a great comeback and that's your response?

You do see the 7 minute correlation, right?....right?

I guess you don't.

Commonsense:
No, WISGOD is too busy hurling invective and dissembling to see anything else. SSDD.

Hey!
Where are all of our recently-acquired astroturfers to weigh in for McPOW?

Let me anticipate their arguments pro McCain:
John McCain is [adjective] for America because his years as a POW make him a/an [adjective] [noun].

Bush is doing a video so McSame doesn't have to be on the same stage as him.

Pathetic.

And yet, no Ron Paul.

Obviously no REAL conservatives are invited. The fact that these people have the balls to label them selves as "conservatives" is ridiculous.

The line up for tonight is looking very good though, very "Republican" if you will. You've got your old stupid white guy, another old white guy...and another old boring white guy. Try to figure out which is which. Oh and don't worry though if you miss one, the next guy will come along and repeat the same message. Shake and repeat for 3 days.

Excerpts from Dumbya's li'l chat tonight.

He is ready to lead this nation," Bush will say via video link from the White House to the convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, according to the excerpts.

McCain also is right for the presidency because he "understands the lessons" of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Bush will say.

"To protect America, we must stay on the offense, stop attacks before they happen and not wait to be hit again. The man we need is John McCain," Bush will say, according to the excerpts

www.cnn.com

"John McCain understands the lessons of 9/11"?

Hellooooo! John McCain doesn't even understand the lessons of Vietnam.

He barely remembers wot he had fer breakfast.

/A tasty stack of pancakes, btw.

"Stay on the offensive"?

Pre-emptive war ferever!

Orwell would wretch at this shit.

Be Well.

Wonder how many "Loserman" signs the Tighty Rightys will be holding up tonight. Maybe the odd, "Too Kosher to be Veep" sign as well.

Will Phred be awake?

If Palin is around, he'll at least pretend to be.

Ron Paul isn't there because he doesn't dance to the tune of the men behind the curtain.

The others dance, so they get "coverage" and lots of $$$.

Do you think it will be live or memorex?

I say it will be taped...Bush will speak by video so he can do it over and over till he gets it right.

So he will speak about the lessons of 9/11?

Ahh yes. The FEAR and LOATHING of the campaign trail.

and if that don't work...

Vote for Mr Magoo and the Moose Hunting MILF!

Starts with a prayer, that's nice.

Then a Memoriam thingy.

Wow, feels more like a Funeral than a Convention.

ST. PAUL -- Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee who revealed Monday that her 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, earlier this year used her line-item veto to slash funding for a state program benefiting teen mothers in need of a place to live.

After the legislature passed a spending bill in April, Palin went through the measure reducing and eliminating funds for programs she opposed. Inking her initials on the legislation -- "SP" -- Palin reduced funding for Covenant House Alaska by more than 20 percent, cutting funds from $5 million to $3.9 million. Covenant House is a mix of programs and shelters for troubled youths, including Passage House, which is a transitional home for teenage mothers.

According to Passage House's web site, its purpose is to provide "young mothers a place to live with their babies for up to eighteen months while they gain the necessary skills and resources to change their lives" and help teen moms "become productive, successful, independent adults who create and provide a stable environment for themselves and their families."

I read today Palin's is being coached 24/7 these last couple of days by the guys in the same sleezy firm which orchestrated the slime attack against McCain and his family (for Bush back in the 2000 primaries). They are coaching Palin on what to say in her speech, foreign policy, issues, and all the do's and don't's they need to bring her up to date ASAP.

She has proven to be exactly one of "them" and just like Dumbya and McLame

1 - Fulfilled the Bush teen sex policy of allowing "abstinance only" that proved to be a total failure like all the dumb reputards thoughts

2 - Fulfilled the "Abuse of Executive Power" requirement and in only a short time. Proudly following Bush, Cheney, Gonzalez, Taft, etc, etc...

3 - Fulfilled the McLame trophy requirement for VP, same as the Wife

Hurray

I just saw Orin Hatch praising Palin for her vetoing skills. Priceless. Does he even know what she vetoed? Or does he not care?

After 19 threads dedicated to Palin, call it in the air.

For Orrin Hatch:

This is what happens when you choose a veep without more than a cursory vetting. I could've posted twice that many. McCain really set her up for failure.

If he had vetted her, he could've gotten some stuff out there in a less incendiary way. For instance -- her governor's office could've announced the daughter's pregnancy *before* she got named his veep.

WISGOD

Two words: "denture cleanser"

WISGOD

Whew, took me awhile to find the link you want so you better read it! The same guys who smeared McCain for Bush in the 2000 primaries are now coaching Palin. McCain has no shame, no pride, he will do ANYTHING Bush and the GOP order him to do.

Former officials of Sen. John McCain's 2000 campaign expressed shock and disbelief Monday to learn than the GOP presidential nominee had hired South Carolina political consultant Tucker Eskew.

Eskew, along with Warren Tompkins and Neal Rhodes, were key members of then-Gov. George W. Bush's South Carolina team during the 2000 primaries. McCain and his team long held Bush, Tompkins, Rhodes and Eskew responsible for the various smears against McCain and his family in the Palmetto state during that contentious contest.

Eskew was brought on board the McCain campaign, it was announced Monday, to help prepare Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for her role as McCain running mate. Eskew will help Palin prepare for her Wednesday night acceptance speech at the GOP convention and for her stump speech as she hits the road, brief her on policy matters, and help her handle the media scrutiny a lifetime in Alaska does not necessarily prepare one for.

Hopefully the coin, as well as the election, will end up on its edge.

The recipe is in place, yet the GOP needs a bit of heat to cook it. A nice 5 carrier group blockade of Iran should do the trick--

Regarding McCain/Palin:

Beware of the least expected danger-- it invariably comes to you the soonest.

Some other Good Advices:

--Don't go around carrying a box full of magnifying glasses on your head at noontime on a sunny day.

--When you greet an enemy off the battlefield, keep a good eye on any hatchet he's looking to bury.

--Scrawl your losses in the dirt. Chisel your victories in stone.

--Never visit the barber in the presence of those who desire scalps.

--Never reach further than a distance from which you can pull back in time.

--Fear the bull from the front, the stallion from the rear, and man from all sides.

--Never investigate the ground where you fell, but rather the ground where you slipped.

And here is Laura.

She get a face lift? I don't remember her looking so slanty eyed before.

Strange. The reception uncannily reminds me of a Flock of Seagulls concert I attended in my youth.

That's it?!

Not so well, Ted. Not so well.

But, unbelievably, there hasn't been another attack since 9/11.

WHO do *you* think we should credit other than W?

McSame.

"A Great American"?

Howso?

"I know wot it takes to be president"

No. No, you fucking DON'T.

Service above self?

The offering of early release story agin?

*Yawn*

No mention of the 32 propganda videos McCain made fer the "Gooks"?

More than passing strange is THAT.

"Human life is precious"

~George Bush.

Too bad you don't walk the walk there, Chimpster.

"...and life the ban on off shore drilling today"

"Speaks straight from the heart"

You mean like when he used to opppose drilling in places like ANWR before capitulating to the GOP's corporate master?

"He's rather lose an election..."

Good.

Understand 9/11?

Neep.

No, no he don't.

He doesn't even understand 'Nam.

Palin is "strong and principled"?

Is that RT speak fer Fundy wingnut?

"ready to lead"?

He's not ready to get out of a chair w.o help.

Hiding behind Laura's skirt.

Wotta li'l biatch that Dumbya is.

That was lame.

G08ama.

Be Well.

With those snappy comebacks Jimmy, is it any wonder that AU suddenly thinks he's a man, and kicked KOS to the curb?

Tangent.

Don't strain yourself.

Better go wash those BVD's out for tomorrow. Maybe you can keep the pocket rocket from premature liftoff. Just keep thinking about Bab's Bush naked.

Wow. Gimme went from ridiculing your assertion to defending it without even acknowledging that little in between part (it was true). He's fast.

You haven't been paying attention I've been ridiculing Chri for a week or so now for going against her "principles" by taking 0bamanania hook, line and sinker.

ready to lead"?
He's not ready to get out of a chair w.o help.

Sure, he can get one of them lift chairs.

Maybe Wisgod will deliver it.

Hey they got it right on Gustav--Thank you very much!

Watch for evacuations for every hurricane--which they will do.

They should build Hurricane Hotels that are 90 miles north of NO--so they can cut the costs of flying people out and keep them safe.

Hotels with 200 cots and get there by bus..

I noticed, hee hee.

Bet you he doesn't try and play "got cha" again by asking me for any more links.

One of these days they'll have to admit Reagan is dead and gone.

You can't give a good reason to vote for McCain, can you?

Boy, that's a ducky idea with all the fences to mend in the Middle East.

Ted--go to c-span

re: "He'd be a fun guy to party with but he sure was a disaster as President."

Recovering alcoholics aren't much for partying. They seem to prefer starting needless wars and bankrupting the nation while enriching the top fraction of one percent, leaving the US with a shattered reputation, an army stretched thin, and a debt to the chicoms that would have a Democratic president tried for treason.

Murphy,

Many more forced evacuations for CAT-2 hurricanes and people will start becoming complacent again.

This was over reaction. Much ado about nothing.

Boy, that's a ducky idea with all the fences to mend in the Middle East.

Thanks, Adolph.

Hey will they mention that Reagan had one of the largest ever tax increases?

"But, unbelievably, there hasn't been another attack since 9/11. WHO do *you* think we should credit other than W?"

My vote would be to credit the terrorists, many of whom have gone into an extended hiatus of prayer and reflection. Methinks no matter if Obama or McCain wins, their prayers will have been answered.
