Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Republican John McCain, whose running mate disclosed that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, has opposed proposals to spend federal money on teen-pregnancy prevention programs and voted to require poor teen mothers to stay in school or lose their benefits.

When reporters pressed McCain whether the government should provide contraceptives or counseling on contraceptives, he replied, "You've stumped me."

Being stumped, in addition to confusion, are what you get with John S. McCain, III. In fact, that "S" stands for "Stumpy."

Much better to bible thump, pander to an ideological base while throwing untold numbers of teens under the bus all in the name of power.

Abstinence only works only until it doesn't.

A comprehensive sex education program that will teach methods of (GASP!) birth control, provide guidance on how to have protected sex and support for teens facing unintended pregnancies is evil according to the holier than thou thumpers.

How many more teens will be left twisting in the breeze due to the neanderthal policies of the kook right wing?

Jurassic John has made up his mind. Fire good! Condom bad!

If thumpers and Rtards were serious about doing something about abortion, preventing unwanted pregnancies should be near the top of their list. The fact that they refuse to even address it proves they are all a bunch of frauds and hypocrites.

Burn 'em all and let their 'god' sort them out.

Axe,

That is because to the wingdings the issue of abortion is much more important to them as a wedge issue in elections than the actual human life they claim to want to protect.

Come on now, lefties. McCain's personal conduct is impeccable in terms of his impregnating teen agers. There's not even an unfounded allegation, let alone one with legs, that McCain ever impregnated a teen.

Isn't there some rumor out there about Obama?

Isn't there some rumor out there about Obama?

If not, you'll fabricate one.
Hopefully in one of your super long posts no one reads.

"If not, you'll fabricate one."

Excellent observation, Alex. And dead on:

"Of course, given the as yet unsubstantiated rumors that Michelle and Barack were swingers, he being bisexual, and she orgiastic..."
Posted by Johnson at 2008-06-23 09:43 AM

You've had over two months to prove that one, Johnson. Have you "substantiated" that "rumor" yet, or are we to conclude you're just a feces-throwing monkey?

Abortion wouldn't be "a wedge issue" if the left was not so adamant that there is "a right" to kill babies. Some folks find that proposition repugnant. For the issue to dispappear, all that the left needs to do is oppose abortion. I suspect then that the "issue" of provision of contraception would disappear as most people would not be particularly aroused by it.

Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. How many babies have been destroyed today? Democrat appointed Democrat judges "found" a right to kill babies, somewhere. The right to destroy life is part and parcel of the Democrat Party platform, isn't it. Don't the Demcorats support "A woman's right ..." er, "A woman's right to do what? Ah, "A woman's right to kill for convenience without consequences." After all, what's a life compared to "convenience?" The Democrat Party harbors a death cul among its people. They worship Thanatos.

Johnson-
re: "They worship Thanatos."

You worship the state: a theocratic one, backed by the barrel of a gun.

You've had over two months to prove that one, Johnson. Have you "substantiated" that "rumor" yet ...

No, I haven't made any effort to do so since I don't care. I don't share the zealotry that causes the leftists to be so impassioned. The rumor was out there. I noted it.

Proof is difficult to collect in such matters. If I were interested, I'd send operatives, who presented themselves as friendly to Obama to circulate among his friends, and collect information.

But since Obama is the subject of veneration by an adulating cult, it would be of no utility since it would make no difference to Obama's supporters. It would be similar to Muhammed marrying a six year old. It would quite probably be used as an example of proper conduct.

But as I indicated, I'm not a zealot. I don't propose to go out of pocket to gather such information. I don't own any publications that would benefit from such "proof." And I don't personally care if the Obamas participated in orgies or not.

... or are we to conclude you're just a feces-throwing monkey?

Well Danforth, I'm not responsible for your irrationality. I am indifferent to whatever conclusions you reach. Weird ideation, and logically inept. But suit yourself.

"No, I haven't made any effort to do so since I don't care."

What a shocking, shocking surprise!

"Proof is difficult to collect in such matters. "

But accusation seems to come easily to you. That's the classic example of feces-throwing: toss out lies and innuendo, and then feign indifference when called on it.

"I don't propose to go out of pocket to gather such information."

We know. You just make up the rumors, you don't prove them. Easier that way, isn't it?

McCain's personal conduct is impeccable in terms of his impregnating teen agers.

Not too many teenage girls were millionares when McSame ran out of confessions to give the VC. Today he'd be dumping Cindi for Britney in a heartbeat.

It'd probably be his last one, but still...

If he was capable, John woulda launched a stiffy while he was on stage with Sarah.

"Isn't there some rumor out there about Obama?"

Not that I've heard but I'm sure Karl Rove or one of his proteges can think up one like they put out about John McCain in 2000.

Libs believe that we need programs to teach teen agers about sex. Those teen agers already know about sex and the girls know how to get pregnant. Many get pregnant deliberately so they can collect that monthly check from the MAN. One of the many wonderful social programs created by scumbag libs.

"But since Obama is the subject of veneration by an adulating cult, it would be of no utility since it would make no difference to Obama's supporters."

And since Obama is the "enemy" there is nothing that those who so despise him will not do or attempt to do to defeat him or worse. Honesty is not a value exhibited in campaigns by the Republican party as I alluded to in my previous post.

"Libs believe that we need programs to teach teen agers about sex."

Better than believing the incredibly backward idea that NOT HAVING A PROGRAM to discuss sex will help prevent pregnancy in teenagers. THat was/is the position taken by Sarah Palin, the results are pretty obvious.

why does fwthom hate america?

and scumbag rethugs like you would rather keep those teens in the dark about their bodies.

this is the result:

A recent survey that found some Florida teens believe drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV and a shot of Mountain Dew will stop pregnancy has prompted lawmakers to push for an overhaul of sex education in the state.

The survey showed that Florida teens also believe that smoking marijuana will prevent a person from getting pregnant.

of course, it was in Florida and that does explain a lot.

Didn't McCain marry a teenager

Wow! I'm pulling my support for the GED program...

FWTHOM, man, he is one of the funniest cons. I mean, knee slapping funny, Wheeler & Woolsey funny, Ritz Brothers funny, dare I say -- Eddie Cantor funny. And just a creaky, backward and ready for the dustbin.

Good, it's not the federal government's job to be teaching sex ed, or anything for that matter. The Constitution doesn't allow it. Federal involvement in education has been a disaster. The states can handle it (marginally) better.

this related to the candidates views on science, Science Debate 2008 initially they tried to get a debate on science going, having failed that, they issued 14 questions to both candidates
here are the quesions:
www.sciencedebate2008.com

Obama has answered, McCain said he will, but hasn't done it yet

science is important for our future growth!

Who says dustbin?

Anyway, the righteys see this situation as a moral thing. It's all part of the whole guilt trip.

This is their working principle; if she gets pregnant,.... well, she wouldn't get pregnant if she is moral and following our program. There is no 'what if'. If 'what if' happens, you're fucked.

It's a very economical principle too...for all have sinned and come short of the glory of god. 'don't blame us, they say, we told them not to do it'.

And thats the first lesson we teach our children, and we teach them shame and guilt.

I'd be ashamed if I voted for George W. Bush.
I'd feel guilt if I knew I was going to vote for McBush.

FWTHOM was obvisously home schooled.

Then why did 17 high school girls in Gloucester Mass. high school become pregnant?
A predominantly catholic population in a liberal state.
This school system has sex ed in middle school and first year high school.
Some of them actually became pregnant on purpose.
Are the parents to blame because their sons and daughters behaved recklessly or are you finally going to realise that teenagers sometimes behave opposite what is taught them.
Teenagers make mistakes because they are teenagers, they don't have any life experience behind them to give them pause to think through the consequences of their actions.

want a real nightmare, vote for McCain and have people like FWTHOM in charge, real scary huh? Pleasant dreams!

Johnson STILL thinks that abortion somehow kills babies. No, J, it PREVENTS babies. I keep telling you, and you refuse to listen .

Legal, medically safe abortions keep LIVE women from dying on butchers' tables. "Democrat-appointed" judges? Seems to me Roe v Wade was written (wrote, for J's benefit) by Nixon appointee Blackmun. But Johnson indicates later on that he's not in the least interested in whether the feces he hurls are true or not. herm

Also worth repeating is Fully Weaned Thom's:

"Libs believe that we need programs to teach teen agers about sex. Those teen agers already know about sex and the girls know how to get pregnant. Many get pregnant deliberately so they can collect that monthly check from the MAN. One of the many wonderful social programs created by scumbag libs."

I infer that Thom decided teen pregnancies were invented by "scumbag libs" as a means to a welfare check. So why is Thommy so vociferous against reproductive right?. I'd expect him to picket for the right to opt out of problem pregnancies since that would so diminish what he pays into welfare. herm

Holy shit, that was lucid and dead on. Who typed that for you?

I'm not even so sure we need to teach them, but we need to quit not teaching them.

Legal, medically safe abortions keep LIVE women from dying on butchers' tables.

That is unadulterated BS. Its straight from the script of Orwell's Animal Farm.. keep painting slogans on the wall, and at some point maybe the idiots will start believing it.

We have murdered millions of babies, they weren't prevented, they were brutally murdered for convenience, that's all, convenience.

Kitchen table abortions were rare, very rare, sort of like the rape and incest argument for abortion.. it's statistically insignificant.

I'm glad McCain opposes the state indoctrinating teens about sex.. that's the job of their parents, and the fact that a few parents do a poor job of it, doesn't change it.

Somehow, I'm sure this will lead the moron class to comment on Sarah Palin being a bad mom.. I don't know the family circumstances there.. like most parents, I'm sure she's imperfect at it. I'm sorry the girl is pregnant.. I'm sure the family is dealing with a bad situation as best they can.

As the Messiah Barak pointed out.. he was the son of an 18 year old. Funny how none of the lefties are criticizing his mom.

Funny how none of the lefties are criticizing his mom.

why, Obama's sister not pregnant, the one against sex ed (teaching abstain is her view) is!

a few hours ago, American troops initiated a raid across the pakistan border by following Taliban troops across. It would seem that Bush is now taking advice from Obama, that's good. it's being tauted as being very succesful.
this pisses McCain off.

NMG NO, no doubt writing from Ho Chi Minh City, insists that safe medical terminations of pregnancies are too to blame for a holocaust of real live babies being "brutally" slaughtered "for convenience" - he says by the millions - and no doubt served medium rare on librul tables.

No sense in continuing to shout the facts at him (????). Judging from the rest of the NMG HO rhetoric, straight from the Rove-McBush playbook, his (???) mind is made up and want not to be tainted by reality. You remember reality? Making it okay to bad-mouth the Obama mama but not abstinence finest friend in Washington. herm

When i'm not frothing at liberals I can usually present a good case.

And as ALEX pointed out earlier tonight Palin slashed funding for Special Needs Childhood Education by 62% in addition to slashing programs for unwed teen moms that included housing, job training, and classes in motherhood?

These "Christians" like Palin can bring a tear to a glass eye I tell ya.

i've never understood the thouoght process that not teaching kids about sex is supposed to keep them from having sex. are kids that stupid that they wont be able to figure it out? by the time I was 10 or 12 I had a working knowledge of how sex work, my 8th grade sex ed class just confirmed that.

is the thought that if you dont teach them they wont know how to have sex?

Liberals believe every program should come out of Washington, and be funded there. Which is why they can't stand people like McCain.

If the taxpayers in Manhattan or Pismo Beach want sex education in their schools, they're free to have them. But don't demand that taxpayers in Kansas or Maine pay for them.

The solution is that Blue states need to become one country and the ignorant rednecks can have the red states. You all would be fucked.

we are talking a state issue. palin opposed sex ed in Alaska as governor. am I incorrect or is sex ed funded by the federal govt?

the point being, is that NOT teaching sex ed is illogical, are kids NOT going to learn how to have sex?

If the taxpayers in Manhattan or Pismo Beach want sex education in their schools, they're free to have them. But don't demand that taxpayers in Kansas or Maine pay for them.

Because the results of keeping sexually active kids ignorant isn't a burden on us all? That thinking appears to be quite shallow, IMHO.

Hell, having sex before marriage is bad enough, but using a condom or other birth control? Now that's two sins for one bone.

Many get pregnant deliberately so they can collect that monthly check from the MAN.

Is that why the Palin girl got pregnant?

Hell, having sex before marriage is bad enough, but using a condom or other birth control? Now that's two sins for one bone.

And they teach them that masturbation is a sin, too, instead of the safest form of safe sex. Plus good for the paper industry.

nope, clearly it was bad parenting.

By the time I was 17 I was already well versed in the mechanics and procedures involved in sex.

My dad (who it stained to say 3 words together) told me one day, 'Son, it's time we had that talk'. (I think my mother told him I was the jerking off champion of Marshall County).

His talk, him being from the old school, was, basically, if you go messing around and get some girl pregnant, you are on your own. Thanks dad, what an inspirational speech. So I celebrated by banging the girl next door.

The sex part kids figure out without any help.
So it best we teach them the in's and out's of it as it were.
Failing to do so will invite a lot of trouble.

go shoot an innocent bear, but your not allowed to have an abortion.... what losers!

Questions:

Do teenagers today know more about sex and reproducton and birth control than teens did 50 years ago? I'll answer that for you .....YES!

Is the teen pregnancy rate higher or lower than 50 years ago? Guess what, it's a lot higher.

Liberals conclude that we need even more sex education.

Interesting!

More liberal math:

"Not again: Palin slashes-- another childrens programby increasing funding"

In the wee hours of the morning yesterday, I told you about the Washington Posts false accusation that Gov. Sarah Palin slashed-- funding for a teen pregnancy program, when in reality, there was over a threefold increase from the government funds they received from all sources in 2006 (FY2006 ending 12/31/06).Many of you have contacted the WaPo ombudsperson about the lie. But she is apparently on vacation until next week. Keep after it because the meme is spreading. The NYTimes has now recycled WaPos nonsense with this apoplectic headline: Palins Budget Cuts Affect Teenage Mothers. And now, via Brian Faughnan, theres this new smear using liberal math to decry Palins alleged slashing-- of special-needs funds."

He did it using full video of what they said, too. It was sheer brilliance in illustrating their pure unmitigated hypocrisy.

After watching the John Stewart piece I'll have to get a shovel out to shovel the hypocricy from the right wing out of my house.

COMMON

Even Palin's statement about Hillary "whining" is now totally at odds with the screams from the McCain camp "They're sexist".

Jeebus H, the right wing is full of world class hypocrisy.

Now we hear all the screams from the right about the National Enquirer. Of course when they were exposing Edwards or running Monica Lewinsky on the cover week after month it was just fine and "this needs to be exposed".
