Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Right-of center pundit David Brooks doesn't think much of McCain's VP nominee. In fact he thinks that if McCain is elected, he will face conditions tailor-made to foster disorder.

I could understand the McCain thought process if he were running as a 3rd party candidate -- Like Bob Barr for the Libertarians, or as Perot did for the Reform Party. Together they have the perfect resume to win about 20% of the popular vote.

David Brooks mistakes the new and improved John McCain with the old "maverick" he used to be. You can't exactly say you want to make the Bush tax cuts for the rich permanent after originally vehemently opposing them as too weighted towards the wealthy and still clain this "populist" streak. Is he now going to adobt Palin's "windfall profits tax" on oil companies????
Me thinks not. Me thinks Palin is getting some "schooling" about modern national REpublican politics and what is ok and what is not ok.

Danni -- If Bob Barr were really intent on making a dent in the election he would be seriously exploiting this move by McCain. So far nothing from Barr.

Just these articles of relevance:

Not many comments to what seems to be a significant post. Whassup?

After sleeping on this, I think McCain wanted to get people talking about how bold and daring he is. In part he has succeeded. But it makes one think that McCain's bold and daring side is a bit reckless.
