Because the leaders of your religious corporations need you to believe that it is god's decision, and therefore outside your control. It's not a coincidence that they are also the ones that interpret what 'god wants'.

My God doesn't make any of the choices in my life for me. It's all up to me. That includes the elections. God has no part in them, as he has no part in Friday night football games.

My faith and my political views do not clash, as one is no part of the other. I follow the teachings that tell me to keep them seperate, to not make laws to condemn people, but follow the laws in place to live my life more according to my faith.
