Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

With Sarah Palin on one wing and Colin Powell on the other, don't be surprised if cracks appear in the GOP.

This reminds me that, against every fond expressed hope of Rush Limbaugh, there was no riot at the Democratic Convention.

Only one was heard above the croud.

take two

Only one sound was heard above the crowd.

It has been fracturing for a while. The first crack was when Bush and Co sacrificed colin powell to the gods of nationalism.

It won't hold water anymore.

Bush didn't sacrifice Powell because of nationalsim. He sacrificed him out of personal ambition and, much more likely, just because the pipsqueak could never stand contradiction.

After the abomination of gwb/cheney, is it any wonder GOD would split and destroy the GOP much as he did Sodom and Gomorrah?

Um, is there anything we can do to finish the GOP off completely? Not that I'm in a hurry...

"Um, is there anything we can do to finish the GOP off completely?"

Isn't that what McCain was trhing to do with his "No, fuck you" choice for veep?

"(need coffee)"

No, what you need is a brain.

Apparently yours is available.

I wouldn't think anyone would want his.....

It's been soooo badly abused.....

This silly article is just wishful thinking but the Looney Left. Republicans will unify (grudgingly) around McCain/Palin, if for no other reason than to prevent Osama from being elected.

Palin make sense politically. She's young, energetic and attractive. Plus, McCain was concerned that Christians might stay home; Palin makes it easier for them to hold their nose and vote for McCain.

This is a reasonable strategy and is the driver behind all the freaking out on the Left.

They can't attack Palin too much because it's too close to picking on a minority -- which the Osama campaign has already squealed about. And any comments about Palin's slim experience just echoes back to Osama's glaring lack of experience.

Obviously, McCain thinks he can lure away some moderate Democrat votes. The most hopeful line in the article for Republicans:

"The long-running feud between the party's moderate and liberal wings is dormant, with the liberals holding sway."

Liberals are creepy to most Americans, which makes it easy to persuade them to vote for a Republican.

Poor example:

Gen. 19:4 -- Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodomboth young and oldsurrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them."

Homosexual gang rape. Sounds like God had a dispute with Democrats

Palin is 'Dan Quayle with a pony tail'.

John McCain: Ready to vet on Day Three

He JUST sent a team of 8 to Alaska. Records keepers responded when a lone reporter showed up in Wissila (because their records aren't online), "why, you're the first to come". The reporter was shocked.

Additionally, Alaska Republicans say they were not aware of anyone who'd come to Juneau to vet Palin. It's a small circle. They would have known had any of McCain's team showed up asking to look at records or talked to local politicians.

This was a reckless process based on a half hour meeting 6 months ago. Obvious pandering to women. It's already backfiring. More to come in the next few days.

Interesting question, let's consult old Zeke:

16:49:
"Truly, this was the sin of your sister Sodom: pride, a full measure of food, and the comforts of wealth in peace, were seen in her and her daughters, and she gave no help to the poor or to those in need."

I'd put it down as a safe bet.
