Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

A spectre is haunting the liberal elites of New York and Washington--the spectre of a young, attractive, unapologetic conservatism, rising out of the American countryside, free of the taint (fair or unfair) of the Bush administration and the recent Republican Congress, able to invigorate a McCain administration and to govern beyond it.

If anything... her pick seems to have united the Right. That's a good thing.

I doubt her pick is enough to put McCain in the White House. He's gonna need a great convention, flawless debates and probably some really nasty commercials to make it close... even then who knows. But at least he seems to have his side together behind him now.

"Left Scared To Death Of Palin"

FF for Billy Kristol.
Or is it Crystal?

Kristol warns the Left will do to Palin all the same things the Right has done to every Democratic candidate to date. Including, in the case of Hillary, condescending sexism.

In the vein of sexism, or simple conservative values if you prefer, I find myself very curious how Palin's glamor shot in a teddy will play to Evangelicals.

Kristol's out of his fucking mind, as usual. This is a great pick...for Obama.

Rasmussen doesn't show McCain affected anything by this choice so far.

Its been a day...

Kristol's opinion is the kiss of death for Palin. When has he ever gotten anything right? Hilarious.

And BTW Zed:

www.rasmussenreports.com

Palin viewed more favorably the Biden.

"Spectacular performance in her (Palin's) introduction...."

I saw that introduction. Palin was OK, but the skill level demanded was less than a Kiiwanis lunch meeting.

When conservative pundits began describing as "spectacular" very average performances you know something has gone horribly wrong.

I'm recalling Rush Limbaugh's now famous characterization of Bush's drooling 2000 debates against Gore as "masterful".

Sixty-seven percent don't know enough about Palin to have an opinion? Well, she's got two months. Hope that sweet smile can stay in place.

McCain passed on more seasoned candidates and settled on a largely unknown figure. Is that putting "country first"?

"Palin viewed more favorably the Biden."

Wait until they find out what an unqualified nutjob she is.

"It's been a day...."

Rasmussen tracks daily.

Men like Bill Kristol haven't had any for so long: they just looked at Palin and her legs and thought she was HAWT

"McCain passed on more seasoned candidates and settled on a largely unknown figure. Is that putting "country first"?"

No. He could've picked very qualified women like Liddy Dole, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Chrissy Whitman, etc. Instead he picks Mayor Tundra. He's proven again that his judgement is terrible and that he is not fit to be President.

McCain passed on more seasoned candidates and settled on a largely unknown figure. Is that putting "country first"?

My gosh. All the weeping and wailing. This is done all the time.

So Obama didn't really get a convention bounce either? Since they're only like 3-5 points apart...

" I find myself very curious how Palin's glamor shot in a teddy will play to Evangelicals."

The good thing is, she looks like a real serious person.

Instead he picks Mayor Tundra.

Who even though they've really never heard of her, Americans already like her more then Biden.

I'm already seeing mock campaign signs posted showing an alluring Palin under the caption: McCain/Palin-No Naughty Boys.

"Americans already like her more then Biden"

Link, please.

BTW the new feature of the number next to the posters name her can go fuck itself.

We can't all look like Suicide Bombers...

I don't know, Rob---Maybe Palin will appeal to the secret fantasies vote. God knows, stranger things have happened.

Wait'll they find out there's no there there.

We keep having locals die around here, soldiers in Iraq, despite "winning".

I guess what Palin needs to worry about is whether people will see her as a "Stay the course, teeheehee" sort of little girl.

I doubt she'll put him in the White House... in all honesty I think this pick was to put a few more GOPers on the bench for future runs.

But who knows... she's a woman, some women like some minorities are dumb enough just to vote for someone cuz they look alike.

"Cuz they look alike,,,,"

Yes, Rob, we know---Millions of Blacks were aching to vote for McCain before Obama ran. Jeez, do you people need to lose.

"Americans already like her more then Biden"

Gee, Doc, you're NEVER going to find out what's REALLY going on by restricting all your research to Huffington. Surf around a little, laddie.
You're talking about all those "funny flags," you know what's really funny? I'm enjoying myself immensely watching you and your little friends scurry around over this announcement. Looks like a fair ticket to me though...no lawyers, no socialists and a beauty queen for a kicker.

Yes, Rob, we know---Millions of Blacks were aching to vote for McCain before Obama ran. Jeez, do you people need to lose.

You're right, I'm sorry... all those Blacks are clearly dissecting both candidates on their positions on the issues. they're carefully studying their Senate votes, reviewing old speeches, reading campaign material. They're all waiting for the debates, and actively seeking new infromation on both men so that they can come up with the decision to vote for the best man for the job.

then they're voting for the Black guy.

ROB

African-Americans tend to see the Republican Party as disliking them. If McCain had selected a Black man as VP, that would have proved it. Think about it.

William Kristol thinks Governor Palin is a good VP choice.

I, for one, am glad THAT is settled ;-)!

Kristol has a .000 batting average on being right.

Iraq was gonna be a cakewalk, greeted as liberators, short occupation, et al et al

The Left is scared of Palin? ....

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
a.... (The glass of water I was drinking comes up through my nose. I gasp for breath. And then...)

Bwahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha
hahahahhaha ad infinitum until hiccups and chest pains set in.

not only scared, but grasping.
Ah to be right is so good.

Kristol is the same dumbfuck that said Colin Powell was going to nominate Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention. He's just as accurate with this BS.

Ever notice how the trailer park trash on here, enjoys cussing?
You do what you do best.

Kristol's predictions have been about as accurate as Bowa's.

Kristol's opinion is the kiss of death for Palin. When has he ever gotten anything right? Hilarious.

However the Democratic Party picked a token asshole.

Nice going dumbfuck.

thanks for paying attention babykiller.

Here is the link for the Palin Biden poll--

They are comparing the numbers when the VP were first picked..

After her debut in Dayton and a rush of media coverage, a new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 53% now have a favorable opinion of Palin while just 26% offer a less flattering assessment.

Palin earns positive reviews from 78% of Republicans, 26% of Democrats and 63% of unaffiliated voters. Obviously, these numbers will be subject to change as voters learn more about her in the coming weeks. Among all voters, 29% have a Very Favorable opinion of Palin while 9% hold a Very Unfavorable view.

By way of comparison, on the day he was selected as Barack Obamas running mate, Delaware Senator Joseph Biden was viewed favorably by 43% of voters.

www.rasmussenreports.com

And McCain took in 7 million after the Palin announcement..

www.reliablepolitics.com

Obama still has more money but with the combination of the RNC (DNC) they are about even.

"Are you as fat and ugly as Dumpling?"

Hell of a way to talk about yer "life partner".

Who is Bill Kristol, who unapologetically helped foist neoconservatism on the USA and who helped lie the nation to war with Iraq, to talk about the motives of others???!!!

When POTUS #9, William Henry Harrison got elected as the oldest ever at his time POTUS, no one thought that the sturdy old General of Tippecanoe fame would die a few weeks after his inauguration. Fortunately, his VP had been the senior senator from Virginia, one of the most populous states in the Union at the time. But no one ever imagined that Harrison would die in office.

No one expects McCain to pass away ether, but if elected he would be 72, and it always is a possibility. Moreover, if someone wanted to screw with the US political system, why not have a neophyte on heart beat away,

Be it neocons who would love to retain their control over security policy making, or be it terrorists seeking to destabilize the USA, the selection of an unqualified Palin to be McCain's #2 presents so many creative opportunities. And if Kristol, who loves neoconservatism more than his own country is cheerleading for Palin, it's time to be afraid --- very, very afraid. Because what Kristol likes isn't good for anybody with half a brain or more.

typo correction: "...a neophyte ONE heart beat away ..."

Here's why the Left has panicked... (from The Drudge Report... since Zogby's servers are overloaded)

UTICA, New York - Republican John McCain's surprise announcement Friday of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate - some 16 hours after Democrat Barack Obama's historic speech accepting his partys presidential nomination - has possibly stunted any Obama convention bump, the latest Zogby Interactive flash poll of the race shows. The latest nationwide survey, begun Friday afternoon after the McCain announcement of Palin as running mate (Snip)shows McCain/Palin at 47%, compared to 45% support for Obama/Biden. In other words, the race is a dead heat.

sorry for the language but this pisses me off.

Why are neocon a$$holes like Bill Kristol even allowed on TV?

Kristol's opinion is the kiss of death for Palin. When has he ever gotten anything right?

Powell did deliver a stunning speech at the Dem Convention as he predicted. And the Iraq war was as quick and cheap as he had predicted.

Rob-looks like the GOP Convention is a wash-out. On the negative side, no free PR for John and sarah, on the positive side no public fawning adulation for George and Dick.

Why are neocon a$$holes like Bill Kristol even allowed on TV? Because TV stations would like to achieve ratings higher than Air America Radio got?

...bathing suit vs empty suit. Palin wins hands down.

......Kristol has been wrong about everything...always......

........the Palin nomination is imploding as we speak.......

......I would'nt be surprised if McCain has to pick a new VP before the election.......

.......I mean she is a creationist.....and that itself says she must be as dumb as a bag of hammers.....

.....and then she has been outed lying about the bridge to nowhere.......and interfering in the firing of her brother-in-law.......

.......she is sinking fast.......
