Well, there goes the PETA vote. Animal skin. Ugh.
No wonder neither Obama nor Biden are sensitive.
About this slave-owning bit. Here Obama's mother's folks supposedly came here in 1849, and before "The War Between the States" in 1860, and subsequent manumission, acquired slaves? Who were "the other ancestors?"
And didn't the Irish during the potato famine, enter the U.S. at Ellis Island. Did the Obama ancestors depart to "the South," prosper, and become slave-holding plantation owners in such a short period?
Did an Obama female ancestor marry into a slave-holding family?
What about "the rest of the story?" as are so many fables concocted concerning Obama, it's a miraculous confluence of circumstance if true, but unfortunately, seems somewhat contrived and misleading.
Ah well, nothing like a little bit of blarney to embellish a good story. And it's so heart-warming too, the connection between Obama and his running mate. But is it misleading?
Has anyone checked out "genealogist Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak?" Selection of a name like that may have been a harbinger as to the bona fides of the story.
