Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Tropical Storm Gustav, which has killed at least 60 people in the Caribbean, struck Jamaica with near hurricane-force winds on Thursday and was on a path to reach New Orleans and the Gulf of Mexico oil fields as a potentially powerful hurricane.

Dam good thing it was only "near hurricane" or it would have killed millions.

Seems like no one has the sense to get out of the path.

George Bush doesn't care about Jamacian people.

Was that one of the 57 states I visited?

"Seems like no one has the sense to get out of the path"

You ever been on a Carribean island when a hurricane comes ripping through?

What am I talking about?

You've probably never left Dogpatch.

"Seems like no one has the sense to get out of the path."

Yeah why didn't they get in their private jets and get out of there. Put down your fruity drink and step off of the resort in Jamaica for a little bit and you will see some of the poorest people in the world.

YEAH!

Now if only we werent talking about some Islands you wouldnt seem so geographically challenged!

You are right, I'm not a doctor so I'm not as smart as you are.

Only 50 people in town and I've never been out of the county. My sister is cute so I married her.

I'm sure that there is no place to hide on thoes half acre islands so anyone living there is dead.

Who cares? What about the hemp crop? -The Left

This FEMA's fault. Thought I heard Barky say he was gonna fix this.

Damn Krauts! Let 'em outta Germany and they start killin' everything in sight!

Honestly...

Hay doc, how bout you tell me how thoes people on the islands are way too stupid to build shelters.

They're not too stupid to build shelters.
If one ever hits Dogpatch, you'll learn a lot, fast.
Or get culled from the breeding population.

oh doc......what a low blow.

speaking of LOW BLOWS........how's it going????

oh oh........that was a good one.........

so there are now 5000 bused prepared in NO.
and food and water is being readied
and HOW ABOUT THAT>....there is a republican governor.........who woulda thunk it???????

He's more than a Republican governor, BLT.
He's an exorcist.

ah........good one......pretty cute

what I dont understand is why the obama/biden tour isnt going to NO..........all he would have to do is stand at the gulf and COMMAND it to dissipate.....
what good is a messiah if he cant even do that.......

Funny thing is, I've not read a single Obama poster on the DR or heard one I've met in real life refer to him in the religious terms used by you wackoids on the right. Is that your only point of reference? Life must be so unfulfilling in your pea-sized Manichean universe.

My prediction:

Even if the Hurricane has a direct hit on New Orleans the response will be significantly better with Jindal in there instead of the non-decision making Dems that was there.

My Suggestion:

Fill in the 9th ward. It would provide an extra 4 miles of support for the leve's and reduce the area that will need pumping out. Dredge the canals and the port and use that for fill. Pay the people for the land and stop building in the below sea level area.

Better that than to have to shovel money in there everytime we have one of these. It should be like Florida where they use common sense and experience to keep the damage to a minumum.

Get ready New Orleans....here comes another big FLUSHHHHHHH!

Wonder if we will see reporters running around in SUV's showing us people in serious and some in life threatning condition crying for help, yet Bush Adm. says we can't get to them for days yet!In some cases it was a week. What irony for the selfish party of Neoturds that another Hurricane is coming at same time as Katrina, and their convention of convicts!

I guess we will see what happens to a city built in drained swampland....

You and your wife getting out of New Orleans tomorrow?

Here's another link to a site with a lot of links to maps, latest reports, etc.

HURRICANE CENTRAL

More than 1300 workers on oil rigs in the GOM have all been evacuated. Winds are predicted up to 115 mph when it hits shore. Right now reports say it's a 50-50 chance of hitting New Orleans.

Good luck, stay safe, and don't forget to take your pets if you have any.

You keep saying to watch the high pressure point? Have you ever heard of the "Loop Current"?

Whenever a lesser storm passes over and stays in this particular "loop current" area formerly cat 2 and 3 hurricanes end up gathering strength to almost cat 5 hurricanes. Happened both with Katrina and Rita.

I never heard of the 'loop current' before but read this article about it. Kind of interesting.

LOOP CURRENT

Latest, but still unconfirmed reports, have the storm slowly moving westward towards Texas (Houston/Galveston). Better get in your game of golf now while you still can before you have to put on scuba gear to play 9 rounds. lol.

From the article I linked it, right now it looks like Hurricane Gus is headed right for the dangerous "Loop Current" which means it could build to a cat 5.

...The meandering Loop Current, located in the southeastern gulf, provides loads of hurricane fuel. It was a key stopover for nearly all the Gulf Coast killers of the past, including Katrina and Camille,...

Lynn "Nick" Shay, University of Miami meteorology and oceanography professor, flew over the gulf Thursday in a federal hurricane research plane to measure the Loop Current. He saw Gustav's forecast track going "right down the throat" of the [Loop Current].

"That's kind of the scary part here," Shay said. "You look at this and say, 'Boy I hope this thing doesn't really explode,' but it probably will."

It happened in 2005. "Katrina went over the Loop Current and intensified rapidly,"...Then less than a month later a weak tropical storm named Rita followed Katrina into the Loop Current. Thirty hours later it was a Category 5 monster.

I just read that too. Not good news for Gulf residents. Not good at all.

Let's hope that Louisiana, with a much better Governor, has correctly spent the $2 Billion a year they have been getting from the Fed to reinforce/build levee systems.

With Katrina, even if they had spent their annual $2 Billion correctly, the results might have been the same.

Katrina was a massive storm and the lib media created a huge disservice to America by dragging the President through the mud. Our media sux.
