The ubiquitous popcorn in theaters is on it's way out says Art Theater owner Daniel Broch. He vows to remove popcorn from any venue he acquires. Apparently he considers the smell to be over powering and offensive.

Could this happen in the US. Not very likely as the majority of profit in American theaters is the sale of snacks, lead by popcorn.

Give me that butter covered, stinky popcorn any day and the Brits be damned.

I don't like popcorn, but I love the smell of it. Kinda like coffee in that respect.

Well, they're his theaters. Excuse me--theatres. So he can do whatever he wants. And, given that he's British, he'll be serving up crumpets, liver, and blood pudding in no time. And everything else the rest of the human race walked away from, circa 1680.
