One time I said the words 'swing vote'. Can I sue too?

I used to say "soccer mom" every time I saw a 5ft mom trying to see over the steering wheel of her SUV... that counts, right? Let's get a class action going.

This assumes that a member of the Bush administration had an original idea and we all know that's pure bullshit.

That's hawt!

Sorry, Paris.

Well somebody thought up Bush riding in a jet plane, landing on an aircraft carrier, and declaring mission accomplished about 8 years prematurely.
I can't recall that having been done before (or again), so you may have to re-evaluate your position...

101 has a point. That is mad scientist level creativity. If you guys keep underestimating those fuckers they are gonna eat your lunch.

Ah yes....another great fiction!

Or perhaps 101 thinks the mission IS accomlished?

McLame doesn't. He thinks it'll be accomplished in 100 years.

At Least you confess to Bush being 8 years premature. Too bad Barbara wasn't 9 months pre-mature with GW.

Ok, yes, my remark was quite hyperbolic.

101'is actually going liberal on us....

According to Costner's people, "this isn't the Bradley Blakeman we knew. He sounds bitter. we think its because his mother never got Kevin's autograph."

YEAH!

Finally, a Frivolous Law Suit you all can really rally around!

It's good to know that people in Bush's administration have enough time on their hands to write screenplays. It's not like there's anything important going on.

The guy penned it on the back of that 'Mission Accomplished' Banner while waiting for jet-boy to land on the carrier.

I've wondered what prevents someone from stealing another's idea. Just glad I don't have to figure out this mess. It would suck if it were your idea and someone co-opted it in order to make millions.

As a WGA member, I think the bylaws state there's a 51 or more 'direct points' of plagarism for a case to be made successfully.

He'll have to take this to the courts. And the WGA will be fighting on the side of the film makers.

Movies are not made in a vaccuum. It takes at least 2 years to get an idea to screen and there is plenty of info available for the plaintiff to have 'missed' it.

PLUS: these are the two people the headlines should reflect: Jason Richman & Joshua Michael Stern.

NOT Kevin or Kelsey.

Eddy Murphy was sued (and lost) for doing the same thing with 'Coming To America'.

It was his idea to get "swingers" to vote? Huh??

Or did he come up with the idea to only vote for swingers?
That woulda made The Rat Pack happy.......

Ideas in fiction are a dime a dozen, it the execution of the idea that important, and copywritten.

I can give the same basic idea to ten different writers and get ten very different scripts back.

"Swing votes" are swingers who'll vote for McCain because he's a cheater who did it for months before leaving his ailing wife=

Good thing Brad's a lawyer, his suit won't cost him a dime.

Which is about 3 cents more than it's worth.

Let's say we were all sitting around a bar, drinking, and bullshitting.

So we start making fun of something and stretch it all out of proportion (just like on DR) and come up with a pretty funny anecdotal story of love and betrayal.

So Ride_on, being the bastard that he is, goes home and writes a best seller out of it.

Do we 'deserve' any part of that success. And by success, I mean money.
