Yep. The flag has seven white stripes.

3.75 million stamps are already printed and probably in circulation.
Too late now.

Too bad they printed so many. They won't be very valuable.

I was thinking the same thing, Jomama.

Until I read how many had been printed, I was going to go down to a local post office
and buy some. Don't think it's worth doing now, though.

Well, it also depends on how long you intend on keeping them / passing them on.

its a painting

no need to get angry

Wow, Spud aint seen this level of animosity over stamps since the whole Old Elvis/ Young Elvis debate.

Okay, the whynow.dumka.us stamps released by the Republik of Abkhazia may have lead to deployment of troops but they still weren't as rude as the Elvis debating folks.

Be Well.

Be Well.

is that groucho or carl?

;)

Spud I know I'm probaby walking right into this but did you read who the artist's husband is?

Incopetence is always something to get angry at KL. I too was headed to the post office as well. Might still buy my daughter a plate block if I can get my hands on one. I haven't collected stamps since the BSA.

Pretty much since the inverted Jenny, hasn't the PO, upon recognizing an error, just rolled out a gazillion copies? I think they did that when they did a stamp to honor rodeo artiste Bill Pickens and reproduced a pic of his brother instead.

There is a nice man on the moon error out there, though.

Did some Confederate stamp collecting for a bit, until I started listening to the crowd that collects that stuff. I think you pretty much have to keep a supply of white sheets and wooden crosses on hand to really participate.

It seems to me like, with the exception of rare stamps, stamp collections significantly lost their value within a couple of years, after the start of ebay.

Oh no! They burned an american flag? What is next? Taking people away in the night to cuba, torturing them for bullshit information, and keeping them there because of the inevitable lawsuits and general embarasment?

Is Mexico going to be considered a colony?

That would be one of the 57 stars Common. The stripes are still for the 13 original colonies.

Ok my eyes must be mush.

I am looking and counting and the flag photos are showing the flag blowing, waving, furoling (?)

It does not show the bottom of the flag--so you can't get an accurate count the stripes.

and the stripes on the one photo appears correct with the white stripe under the blue. The flag is waving.

Murphy - there should only be 3 white stripes below the Canton - the stamp shows 4.

That's not an extra white stripe-- if the frame of the stamp was any bigger you'd notice it was the top stripe of the Israeli flag sewed on beneath.

Show the world the real America!

Yeah they should put some depictions on the flag of the US Military "torturing" prisoners in Abu Ghrabi and Guantanamo Bay on it! Show the world the real America (as if they didn't already know!)

OK, you capitalist PIGS...

Chris, Jo, and Spud

Just make sure you pay your fair share of capital gains taxes when you sell those stamps if, in fact, they do appreciate.

We need that money to offset the high cost of fuel, to develop new sources of energy, to pay for free health care, to fight the war on poverty, to educate our children, to retire the national debt...

Rising fuel prices, decline in mail volume push post office $1 billion into the red

Just maybe...these government clowns need to quit spending money on redesigning stamps all the time. Stick with the forever stamp?

I would rather my money be spent on social programs all that than on a bunch of criminal oil men and the banks that work with them and the illegal war they needed to get their hands on more free oil.

"Well, it also depends on how long you intend on keeping them / passing them on."

These will likely never be valuable despite the design error. They have printed literally billions of them. A production error is an entirely different thing and can be very valuable.

I'm a fairly serious collector..and even a lot of older stamps are still very very common. Many collectors, including me, often use common stamps from the 1930s - 1960s for postage -- they are worth more that way than on the market.

the extra stripe is for when we annex mehico.
