My wife has covered presidential appearances before, back when Bush 41 was president. You have to make allowances for the security demands -- in this case, apparently, the national press corps is treated differently than the local reporters. Presumably this is because the national journalists have been vetted better.

I heard the reporter speak about what happened. His credentials were valid and the other reporters in that area were all local reporters too. Also when one reporter spoke in his defense that reporter was ejected for speaking up. There will be NO dissent!

There was something very wrong with that picture.

Even if they had some issues with this guy they should have been aware that he was the ONLY black reporter in the area and been sensitive to that.
