I'm not sure anyone ever denied the effectiveness of ethnic cleansing. One need only look at the most famous incident of the last hundred years: the Nazi cleansing of Jews from Europe. The percentage of pre-WWII Jews in Germany as opposed to post WWII percentage of Jews in Germany is stark and undeniable. It works.
The question is, why was the US military supporting such tactics in Baghdad.
