By your logic, every screw-up by Bush between 2000-2004 was due to some mess Clinton had left, which we know is not true. Of course, Obama is free to make that claim if he is elected, since it is a time-honored ploy -- just like Obama's friend and ghostwriter -- Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick -- still to this day complains that his ineffectiveness and noobiness and inability to accomplish much are the fault of prior Gov Mitt Romney. I do, however, agree that Nixon and, likewise, Bush II eliminated any chance of a GOP victory following ther terms. McCain is likely toast and he can blame Bush II and the price of gas and milk for that.
