Not so good for McAncient, it only slows the disease. Now that he is batshit senile, he just won't get more batshit senile as FAST as before the drug.

Terrible disease. I hope this thing works. If you have lost a loved one to this, you know how awful it is.

With that being said, I am reminded of the story about the old guy who went in for his check-up. After the tests the Dr. told him, that he had bad news. The guys says, well let me have it. The Dr. says, "you have cancer". Wow, said the old man trying to take it all in. Then the Dr. said, "well I am sorry to tell you that that is not all, you also have alzheimers". To which the old man replied, "well at least I do not have cancer".

Mrs Smith got a call from her husband's doctor. He apologized and said "there were two Smith's in for blood tests the day your husband had his tested, and we don't know which is which-one has VD and the other alzheimers.'
Mrs. Smith asked what she should do. The doctor told her to send her husband for a walk around the block and if he came back, not to have sex with him.

On a seriouser note, I worked in a nursing home for a couple of years-the alzheimers patients mostly seemed to go back to a happier time, like when their kids were still alive. Once its bitten hard, it is much worse on the family than the victim.
