Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

There seem to be some very popular lame "blanket" retorts from the lefties.
Including:
1. "Well, you voted for that chimp Bush TWICE so.....any good point you make is irrelevant...."
2. "Well, voting for McSame is like voting for 4 more years of Bush, so, any negative observation you have about Obama is irrelevant....."
3."Well, Al Gore did not say he "invented" the Internet, he said he "created" the Internet....so he is not actually insane ......"

Oh Cheney was involved in Haliburton that's why he is making Bush start wars in the ME.

FREDO,
Are you sure you are fully insured against fire? Because you will be subjected to intense flame in a little while. :^O

Wow, someone's lonely. Again.

Anyone who voted for Bush twice BELONGS in Iraq...IMO.

STFU

Are you sure you are fully insured against fire?

Yeah, straw catches easily.

It's an observation that is supported by evidence.

(see dancerboys post at 6:23)

so, straw man my ass.

you dont know WTF you're talking about.

go try to pretend to be smart somewhere else.

The lies about Haliburton and Cheney are thick around here.

"go try to pretend to be smart somewhere else.

You already used up the good places.

"Well, you voted for that chimp Bush TWICE so.....any good point you make is irrelevant...."

Fortunately the number of folks that voted for him twice shrinks daily. Well, at least the ones that admit it.

FRED C

I foresee you headed for things, all of which you will hate. Such a youngling that groks nothing. In wartime there are considerable numbers of your type. You know? The ones with the badly scared foot.

I wonder how many who've voted for Bush twice would vote for him over McCain if both had to run against each other in a Rep primary this cycle.

As much a Dubya has left to be desired, if he ran a third time against Obama I'd still go W. It would be pretty much like I'll do when I vote McCain... realistically the lesser of two evils.

Looks like ol' Fredo's had one too many pina colodas....

...again.

Some popular neo-con retorts;

1) if you lilly livered coward pussy faggot intellectuals would grow some balls and bash some skulls then the world would be a better place.

2) who needs your thinking and stuff, we need to bash some skulls, for jesus and the children.

3) i especially like bashing brown skulls.

4) all of our precious corporations have inconveniently left their resources under a whole country of brown people who are just asking to have their skulls bashed.

5) a turrurist might jump out of your coffee cup tomorrow morning and blow up the whole world, if we don't bash some heads now.

6) shooting brown people is fun too.

7) everybody that doesn't look, act, talk and believe like me is obviously an idiot.

FF!

Fredo, agree. These are lazy posts, at best. You obviously know that the best way to address lazy posts is to start a lazy fucking thread for lazy fucking posts. my negative-inverse-reality-self- retorting retort proves my point.

Hagbard-that pic deserves it's own funny flag...

It's a shame that you newbies missed one of our more infamous retorters ~ TADOWE!

Banned for life from the ol' Retort but classic nonetheless. I miss sparring with the old fart.

I miss sparring with the old fart.

You shouldn't beat up on old people. It's mean.

AXIOM

Obviously you've never met TADOWE.

He was the one doing the beating. LOL

A Section 8 (of that there is no doubt) but he sure kept the blood boiling around here.

"Are you sure you are fully insured against fire?"

Because there is constant danger of your pants spontaneously bursting into flames at any given moment.

Rcade is the only one who could explain that.

Every once in a while Tadowe sneaks in late at night but for all intents and purposes, he is banned. A team of Budweiser Clydsdales coudn't keep him out of here otherwise.

Tadowe wasn't adverse to threatening lawsuits either. Maybe Rcade will slip in here and tell me I'm wrong. I hope so because I'd like to think that the old guy is still alive and kicking.

Ah, those were the days!

Twin,

Tad was banned for quite awhile.

But then RCade reinstated his posting priveleges (between 6-12 months ago). Tad posted with frequency shortly after he was reinstated, but just sort of dropped off after that.

JEFF

I'll take your word for it.

I think I'll check up on our ol' buddy later today when I get some time.

I remember when Tadowe's privileges were restored. But I think that there must have been a proviso that he behave himself. He did for a while but then he slipped off the wagon with his personal attacks on other posters.

I wish Rcade would pop in and give us the skinny on this. I really would like to know.

Twin,

It's distinctly possible that RCade banned him again but somehow didn't update his user profile accordingly.

You've gotten me curious now as well.

JEFF

I remember that after Tadowe got reinstated he was playing games with the brown dumps. He'd get two and then lay off posting for a couple weeks until he was safe from getting suspended again.

That's what made me think there was a proviso to his reinstement.

I know he had a little bit of life outside of the Retort (on-line poker, camping, etc.) but he was a lonely and bitter man.

I honestly believe that the Retort was the only thing that kept his adrenaline going.

Let us not forget some other beauts: Lokisfur, Bowa, and Horace.

Who was HORACE?

The poor man's "Johnson," but obviously younger. Actually, I don't know how to explain him. He really did seem to think he knew it all. (A rare trait here on the DR.)

Thanks, SA, I'd forgotten about "Derfla."

how bout

nicEVILle
and boxitch
and Frank Cotton
and silkenblueskies

I think Cotton and Silkenblueskies were before my time. But Stop the Box Itch and Niceville are well remembered. Niceville kept trying to weasel his way back onto the DR, it seemed like forever. He may still be at it, for all I know. Neither was capable of conducting a discussion. Niceville, in particular, was truly a nasty piece of work -- constantly screwing around with the Site Meter and jerking himself off whenever he "discovered" where someone else was posting from. He even tried RCade's patience, and that takes some doing.

I remember LARRYMOHR really working the Derfla, Lokisfur, Bowa angle the first year or so I was here.

Niceville was on his way to getting banned (by that name anyway) as I came on board. A poster or two thought I was him for a while, but then they did some checking on IP addresses or something like that to get straightened out.

Part of my interest in the DRUDGE is akin to the feeling cast members got when they opened the door of Cheers. They pretty much knew who you were because you had a history there - whether positive or negative.

When people change names just to start trouble it adds nothing, in my view. Thoughts, DOC?

Mention my name again and I'll plant a boot so far up your ass you'll have to tie the laces with your tongue.
- Frank Cotton

i really miss Frank Cotton

cause I am afraid not to.

"When people change names just to start trouble it adds nothing, in my view. Thoughts, DOC?"

I agree, Oohrah. When I did it there were two reasons: a chance to post more articles and -- as Boa, for example -- an opportunity to needle and stir the pot. I have since retired my cast of characters and sworn and oath to RCade on Veronica's Veil that I have seen the error of my ways and will sin no more.

One does get a sense of personality -- if you can call it that on the Web -- from reading posters' comments over time. Once in a while that gets even more filled out. You experience with the storm, your son being in Iraq, that sort of thing.

Sometimes I go away for a while, but there is an attraction to the place. (Now, of course, I've left the opening for someone to say, "Next time, just stay away.")

Your "Cheers" analogy is, I think, very apropos.

Agreed, DOC. Maybe I need to get a life, but I've been on here long enough that I'm about 33% accurate in guessing a poster's identity when I try to determine who it is. Writing style, use of symbols, etc.

And, as with family, we can argue/disagree... but in the end share many common concerns and interests. Those who use this forum to shout random crap to ignite others - it's their freedom to do so - it just serves to detract from the exchange of ideas.

As to the tornado, the last remaining large project is the sun room. That'll be done by early August. It'll have to be tiled and we'll need some masonry & electrical work done in some spots but that's about it.

Good to hear things are getting back together, Oohrah (or should I say, "Cue Ball"?).

It's hard not to get sucked into the games of the trolls -- most of us succumb at one point or another -- but I agree, there are actually some good discussions here, some fascinating information you'd probably never run across otherwise catches your attention, and one's on-line researching skills improve rapidly.

Most of us must enjoy it, otherwise we wouldn't be here, right? Unless, of course, this is the only site available in the psycho ward's rec room.

Fortunately the number of folks that voted for him twice shrinks daily. Well, at least the ones that admit it.

No, its still right around 61 million... everyday, all day...

Something tells me Danni is correct. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere near 61 million people who would admit they voted for him.

You forgot the often proven:

'I Told You So!'

I don't know why someone wouldn't admit it... Okay, fine, he's not going down in history as the greatest president ever, but he's not going down as the worst either...

Given the alternative, Bush was the right move in 2004... I'd be embarassed to say I voted for Kerry. Given his horrendous campaign, his views, his lack of balls, only people who voted 3rd party or Write In that should be holding their heads up high... not Kerry supporters...

"I bet you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere near 61 million people who would admit they voted for him."

Maybe...it could be something like the millions who SAY they're gonna vote for Obama.

I voted harry Brown in 00 and Mike Badnarik in 04 but people here insist that I voted for Bush because I'm not an Obama Cheerleader.

how the hell does one go about getting banned for life?

I don't know as I remember this "old fart".Rcade doesn't sift thru comments looking for offense...some weinies must be flagging things. Why?
Why not just let the fur fly ?

Horace should not be compared to Johnson. He was much more educated and, his inexplicable mean streak aside, possessed real language and compositional skills. I will go even further and confess I occasionally learned from Horace. Johnson, even on his best day, is just a babbling Fog Horn Leg Horn impersonator compared to Horace.

Ah, but the Toad...Tadowe was the Sun Ra of posters. I hope nothing serious befell him, but you must admit the overall tone became considerably more civil around here in the aftermath of his departure. I had given myself a little self-imposed time-out when I realized I was taking things a little too far by constantly kicking him in his jelly spot. When I returned, he was gone.

I realized I was taking things a little too far by constantly kicking him in his jelly spot. When I returned, he was gone.

So you confess to contributing to his demise, though perhaps you didn't want to be the one to twist the knife. I only wish I could take credit for that. Obviously you filthy scum-sucking liberal-democratics don't have the stomach to defeat our enemies. Appeasers!

Remember Ozark - all Tadowe posts must also contain the words "ilk" and "calumny" at least once. "Traitor" is optional, but bonus points may be awarded.

"When I returned, he was gone.

The car too, Ted?

I always suspected that Toad used a rolodex next to his screen in an effort to keep his vitriolic screeds fresh and not over-use his pithy epithets.

My vapid musings could not have brought about the demise of such a mighty poster, and I'll take no credit for his absence.

How is this helping global warming OR Michelle Obama's kids????

FACT!

"The lies about Haliburton and Cheney are thick around here."

Where are you - the White House?

KERRIN57

Nobody flagged Tadowe. We were all too busy trying to "fix" him. The man had a multitude of mental problems.

Incidentally, the fur did fly aplenty around here but the important stuff happened between Rogers and Tadowe and we weren't privy to it.

Too bad, too, because I think those who were brave enough to spar with him needed the closure.

Or maybe a funeral pyre.

Something.

I miss Frank Cotton--

Jeff--you can fix that right? ;o)

I wish Rcade would pop in and give us the skinny on this.

Tadowe's got posting privileges. I think he quit posting to protest a comment here that got dumped.

I could never read a Tadow post without my mind dubbing the 'Satan' voice from South Park.
Frank Cotton was a thug, always threatening physical violence.
Niceville used to post spam to occupy the thread.
His stock in trade was abortion references which suggested that if you support a Dem you were personally responsible for killing babies.

Right wing don was (is) a self admitted troll.
'I just like to throw shit up to watch you libs go crazy"
I think 101 is moderating a bit. Used to be he couldnt post anything without calling some one a homo. I still havn't seen much he says that rises to the level of an intelligent comment, let alone valid debate.

Still fun to play in Rcades yard tho.

"What a bunch of puling hypocrites!" - Dad Tao

Shame. Most normal people have it.

Maybe if you sent him a personal email telling him Tadowe he's welcome back?
Late nights on DR just aren't the same with that crazy critter away. (grin)

You used to see "solipsism" used a lot by the liberals, but it no longer seems to be in vogue.

The chic mot du jour seems to be 'apropos'. What's worse is it is usually misused as a substitute for 'appropriate'.

I can see Tad coming back when the war with Iran gets going. It's been too quiet in the ME for him.

Getting back to the topic of lazy, worn out and stupid retorts ....... the thread would not be complete without this one:

--------

If you think this war is "winnable," perhaps you should waddle on down to a recruiting office and get yourself sized up for a uniform.

If you think this war is "winnable," perhaps you should waddle on down to a recruiting office and get yourself sized up for a uniform.

This one is indeed trite. What the libs are saying is, "Unless you are an able-bodied person in good health between the ages of 18 and 30, you have no right to support the war".

So those under 18, over 30 or are are not physically fit enough to serve are required to be against the war.

I guess that's one way to keep the dissension down.

One could just about cut and paste any post of TADOWE's to match a current post.

He did teach me how to name my links. For that I am forever grateful.

It's a shame he wasted his obviously high intelligence by saying the same things verbatim post after post.

So, in the name of TADOWE here's his:

"LEFTIST/DEMOCRATIC/SCUMSUCKER seeking to lose the war for political gain"

Tadowe would see a personal invitation from Rogers as a sign of weakness just as he did when anybody else attempted to be nice to him. So I don't think I'd recommend that approach.

However I don't see anything wrong with someone from the Retort's home office sending out a blanket invitation to a select group of posters that we haven't seen here for a while.

I know we've all wondered from time to time whatever happened to so-and-so . . . like 'Treesgonewild' for example . . . and a host of others we could think of.

I think it would be worth the effort and it would certainly add to the diversity of opinions around here.

I liked reading Tad's stuff. I usually disagreed with the content, but he wrote well and it flowed well, making it easy to read, unlike say, Spud's stuff. I have to skip his posts if they are more than two or three lines simply because they are a chore to read.

But Tad's stuff flowed well and read easily. Too bad the content was really weird. I can't think of another poster on the DR whose stuff was easier to read than Tadowe's

GOAT

On the rare occasions when Tadowe wasn't into his boring redundancy, he was quite intelligent.

He considered himself quite the astronomy buff, too. I always thought you might be the only one on this board capable of getting through to his better side.

I've read his retorts on astronomy forums and he isn't nearly as nasty to people on that subject.

I've never seen Tadowe on any of the astronomy forums. Did he use the same name?

GOAT

Tadowe always uses the same name where ever he posts. It's pretty easy to follow him around.

He did the same thing you did. He said he needed to go to astronomy forums for some intelligent conversations.

It's been a while since I've checked but I recall seeing him on Bautforum.com. (Bad Astronomy and Universe Today). He drifts around a lot, like always, but he seems to know his subject.

If he doesn't remember your name from here, you two could probably talk for hours. If you use 'Goatman' he's paranoid enough to think you're a Drudge Retort stalker out to get him.

If he doesn't remember your name from here, you two could probably talk for hours.

I use different names on different forums, so he would not recognize me unless puts two and two together. (and I don't put that past him!) If he is clever, he may make the connection since I do not try to change my writing style and on the three forums I visit the most, my names are different stars in Capricorn -- the SeaGoat.

As I said, I have not seen his name, but I will watch closer for him.

GOAT

Away from the Retort where people discuss facts or plausible theory, your writing style isn't that unique.

I doubt if Tadowe would spot you as long you use a different handle.

Good luck!
