Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

At a news conference in Bethlehem with the Palestinian president, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called on Israel to stop settlement construction. "Settlement expansion has made peace harder to achieve," he said. "It erodes trust, it heightens Palestinian suffering, it makes the compromises Israel needs to make for peace more difficult."

I have been pouring over old maps from as far back as 1910 an 1900, PLEASE some one show me the country named Palestine on a legitimate, navigable map. Not just a colored blotch on a rendered bit map file. I'm starting to think a country called Palestine has never existed.

but then i would sound conspiratorial.

who ever said that the jews want peace? that is no goal of theirs

"I'm starting to think a country called Palestine has never existed."

Due in part to the nomadic nature of their people, defined borders never existed outside of the west. They were more defined around natural borders. Take Iran for instance, the nation's borders are designed around natural impediments. same with Afghanistan. Now look at Israel, Jordan, Iraq-- these are man made hodgepodge "countries" created by literally drawing lines in the sand. Iraq is acutally three differemt "nations'

as soon as borders are set, and a false sense of nationalism for a piece of dirt takes effect, people become evil and political radicalization takes hold. Germany is a perfect example, but so is Israel-- the Jews and the Arabs fell for this silliness and now are locked into a futile game of who can out-hate who. For the Jews it will be their final downfall-- for the Arabs who are Muslim, they will only prosper if they let go of their notions of a Palestinian state and work instead on a creation of a strong Islamic state elsewhere, using the example of the Prophet. It is fortunate for them that this is already beginning to happen in Gaza.

It's right next to the maps of Israel, pre-1946.

Aparently israel told Brown to stfu or they'd blow up some more British hotels.

Yeah right, like they're going to listen.

Nothing Israel has ever done makes any sense. That is, unless you first assume they aren't interested in peace, and want to annex the West Bank over a period of decades through encroachment. Then everything they've done since '67 makes sense.

I'm not being antisemitic here, I'm just thinking of Israel like I would any other foreign country. Which they are.

While you're "pouring over" your maps, point out the nation of Israel prior to 1948.

And you're point is?

The Palestinians have far more legitimate claim to the land, having lived there for generations, than the Israelis (a.k.a. Jews) the vast majority of which emigrated there from other after the creation of the State of Israel of WWII.

If I recall correctly Palestine was the Roman name for that area and it was know as Palestine for many many years.

Oh yeah and one more thing,

FUCK ISREAEL
