Gosh, nothing regarding infringements on secularism?

News flash: The government of Croatia conforming to the wishes of the Roman Catholic Church, has enacted blue laws as people were foregoing church-going and patronizing secular pursuits instead. Now businesses will be closed on Sundays.

Where are those of you who are eternally vigilant?

What's your point, Johnson? Break ties with Croatia? Pound the shit out of them in Olympic basketball? Send Adventist missionaries to Zagreb? Inquiring minds wish to know. herm

Nobody including you believes for one second you want me or anyone else to show up at your door and beat you up. It's pathetic that you think me or anyone else would fly or drive to your location just to beat an old mans ass.

Who's mentioned violence but you? Not me.

I said you're too much of a coward to say the things you do here to anybody's face. But from behind a keyboard or safely tucked in your dually with the window cracked half open, no problem.

Jokes about kicking women's vaginas, insulting firemen, kicking puppies, et al

Boy aren't you the badass?

Don't get Chairpoodle all worked up. He'll be tempted to go out and shove old ladies down the escalator at the mall.

One other thing 101st:

For someone who's always throwing out really weird accusations about 'stalking', you've gone into archived threads three times the last 24 hours to dig up a post and reply (to put it kindly).

If you're going to accuse someone of an action it's probably better if you don't engage in it first.

And, evidently kicking them in the vagina first as his post today would indicate.

Man, the early bird gets the worm around here. My doorbell just rang. It was some lady selling subscriptions.
I told her if she didn't get off my driveway I'd kick her in the baby-maker. She acted like she was offended so I scrocked on her face.

Am I the only one who finds the picture of Coulter on the right hand side of the front page to be totally annoying? I keep unconsciously averting my eyes or scrolling down past it quickly. What an unlikeable person.

You're a sad man, Johnson. Nothing but comments on Gore's weight, while ignoring the fact that gas was 89 cents in days of the Clinton Admin and it's now $4.08. What a typical, sad conservative you are. Ignore all you want, but the truth isn't going anywhere.

Not that I'm going to vote for him, I saw Barack Obama today (in Kabul). It was pretty cool. It's good hes seeing Iraq and Afghanistan first hand.

Andy

Cool. Did Obama seem well-received the the troops?
I heard he was going to play basketball with a few of the guys while he was there.

Chris: He was honestly only on the base I'm at (HQ ISAF) for a few minutes. I wish I could've shot some hoops and drained some threes over him but alas, he was gone before I could ask.

Andy

You IN Afghanistan or saw it on the news?

Obama's 1st trip to Afghanistan but not Iraq.

I have friends from Afghanistan. Great folks. Both were University professors in Kabul. They walked out through the Kyber Pass during the Taliban reign with their kids and what they could carry on their backs. The Taliban was killing teachers at the time.

I've felt bad we didn't put the same effort in there. Hope it all turns out well. Obviously, so do my friends on both counts.

If you see McCain ask him why he hasn't attended a hearing on Afghanistan in years.

AU - In Kabul.

Haha, if I see McCain I'll say something smartassy like that. If I shook Obama's hand I was going to tell him I voted for Alan Keyes, but I'm glad I didn't because the joke would actually be on me. Alan Keyes for Illinois Senate, seriously.

The base was abuzz with Obama's 5 minute visit, the Italians on base were even talking about Obama. He certainly has a presence about him.

If you're there Andy, keep your head down and get home safe

Andy,

Ha ha. Ya, I wouldn't expect you to say that to McCain

Since you're there, no politics from me.

Just get back to your family in good shape (and THEN prepare for disappointment on that Keyes thingy LOL)

Andy,

He's going to run again from what I read.

You should be in good shape to go door to door on his behalf LOL

(ya, I got the joke)

Thanks man I should be on my way back in a few months. I'll even be back in time to vote, so that'll be nice.

Hhaha, Alan Keyes, man. I seriously was one of the 15% that voted for him for Senator. One of many things I'm not proud of doing...

Andy,

I've heard hours from my friends about the Taliban days. They've been here a good ten years. God, that was frightening from them. As I mentioned before the Taliban started going after educated people specifically. The Sadiqqis said one or two more days and they were sure they would've been dead. Several of their colleagues weren't so lucky.

I really hope the next president will be able to put the resources into winning in Afghanistan. News reports here say it's going backwards at the moment. Does that ring true from your perspective?

This is only from what I've read, but those accounts say many of the NATO forces from other countries won't do combat. Must be tough to be going if that's the case.

I"m a native born Chicago guy, Andy. Left there years ago, but still have a lot of family I visit.

Illinois will appoint a good replacement for Obama when he wins the election

Go Cubs!

Reminds me of something a friend said about people who root for the Sox and Cubs. Calls em "biSoxual' LOL

( I did spend a good part of my childhood in Detroit so I root for the Tigers too)

AU - All I can say is that the guys who analyze what is happening theater wide are a lot busier than in the past. I can't really go into detail but the newsmedia (who miss on a lot of things) are right in saying theres more action.

As for NATO forces, its a wonder anything gets done on base with how the Europeans operate, haha. Wonderful people though, the Europeans.

As for the Cubs/Sox, I am a Cardinals fan! I am from downstate (anywhere south of Chicago) in Normal, which is 40/40 cubs Cards, and the 20 percent of Sox fans still rooting for them after the WS championship.

I'm rooting for McCain, but if Obama wins, I believe the Governor would select the Senator (correct me if I'm wrong), and I don't trust Blagojevich to do ANYTHING. That crazy bastard may even appoint a Republican, he's that unpredictable.

Andy,

I get reports through my friend's relatives who are still there. I've been saying for months here things are not good in Afghanistan.

Let's hope we can get more combat troops in there and put a stop to the resurgent Taliban before things go much further.

One thing I can say from the comfort of my den is that eradicating the poppy fields seems as though it would go a long way to cutting off the funding for the Taliban.

Did you read Bush gave the Taliban $43 million to do just that May 2001? How sick is that? All while he knew how repressive they were, and that Al Qaeda was training there. I know you probably don't want to hear that, but just FYI.

Downstate. Ah.

My wife went to high school in Mascoutah, so I understand the St. Louis thing. In fact, when we were courting St. Louis was in the World Series (22 years ago). She had me wearing St. Louis jerseys (and I complied for good reasons I can't talk about here LOL).

Haha, yeah I read that a while back. It's amazing the entangling alliances that America has operated with in the past (and still to this day). We can get this thing whipped though, I saw Obama pledging more troops. That would certainly go a long way.

I'm obviously voting for Obama. But, even McCain would be a vast improvement. I just don't know about his age though. The Presidency makes old men out of young men. Imagine what it would make of an old man....

Ah, you have weeks to change your mind. LOL

Hey, I've gotta run. Good to chat with you.

Enjoy your return trip stateside if we don't get another chance.

You'll NEVER be able to take back that Keyes vote !! LOL

In terms of changing my mind it would be voting for Barr, but that would be an Alan Keyes vote all over again.

Nice talking with ya take it easy man.

Name that pic....

OK! Everybody remember where we parked!

You're a sad man, Johnson. Nothing but comments on Gore's weight ...

You're right Apocalypto. We should not make fun of the fat, or of those with other disabilities or addictions, be it to food or drugs, or whatever.

I stand properly chastised. and if you're also a pudgy, I apologize to you for making you reflect on your condition, and possibly feeling bad about your uncontrollable appetites and their consequences.

I don't feel sad, but I recognize that it is improper to get your jollies over other people's misfortunes, such as a person slipping and falling on ice during winter.

Get thee behind me Satan.

... while ignoring the fact that gas was 89 cents in days of the Clinton Admin and it's now $4.08. What a typical, sad conservative you are. Ignore all you want, but the truth isn't going anywhere.

Gosh Apocalypto, I checked, and as late as 1950 in the U.S., gas was just 19.9 cents per gallon, including taxes. Did the price also increase during Democrat administrations due to external conditions rather than maladminstration or malfeasance by the occupant of the presidential office?

I'll betcha that quite a market has emerged in long ago forgotten wellhead rights. Now if some of you folks were entrepreneurial instead of reveling in mental depression (now that may be an oxymoron), you might go out and check on the ownership of rights long ago forgotten as worthless, and try to buy them up from the owners, who by now would look upon any offer as a godsend, a gift. In fact this reminds me, I might have some on land which I conveyed and on which I reserved mineral rights.

But come on, show that good old American enterprise, and go after those wellhead rights. Don't bemoan the economic situation based on mind-altering propaganda in the mainstream media. Act in your own behalf.

Going on radio silence as we always do when we wireline explosives into the hole.

As the ET, I am the one who turns off the satellite, and get to transmit the last stream of data out of here.

Back in a few hours.

Be careful.
