"If not all problems in the world today are caused by those who believe in fairey-stories...."

If religion ceased to exist as a concept tomorrow, what do you think would be left? A collection of rational, mellow human beings?

"Are the problems really caused by believers...."

They're caused by people. That means you and me. The Bible, which you dismiss, points to a time when there is only a god of the here-and-now, and describes how all that works out for the "rational" and those who still think otherwise.

I'd find the idea religion is the only dynamic in negative human behavior odd if I didn't understand it's advanced out of the most profound sense of bias.

So, right there, one human failing that will persist among the "rational" in absence of religion--bias. Who'd have thought?

Zed,

I agree...while there is violence based on religion, this is also violence based on many other things.

In my opinion, the root of the world's problems boils down to human selfishness.

RevDarko lives! And the solution to this question was given in song by Barbara Streisand.

"People....People killing people they are the craziest people in the world.....etc

Good. This is generating the discussion I was hoping it would.

Tune in to find out my ACTUAL views on the subject, rather than taking what is written in my opening post to be my opinion (since I say quite clearly "There are those who believe" rather than "I believe".)

REV-
Need someone to offer an invocation or altar call at the end? :^0
Will try to catch some of the show. Hope you're doing well.

Ah holy crap. Holy crap.

Where have you been hiding, Rev?

And where have Hans and Trees been? You radio folk have been in hiding.
