"If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?"

Aye, there's the rub.

The old "If he did nothing wrong he has nothing to hide" chestnut.
We shall see how the shoe fits when it is on the other foot.

We should eliminate Executive Privelege because it seems to be similar to the fifth amendment.

Executive privilege means "hell yeah we broke the law but we dont have to tell you shit cause W says we dont. So go fuck yourself you piece of crap congress"

It is only slightly more obvious dodge than "I dont recall". (see Tillman investigation)

DHS www.dhs.gov will tell you that unless you are guilty you got nothing to hide. Only terrorists have something hide.

Dick Cheney's Impeachable Offenses -- The first three of the many charges below are taken from H Res 333. See www.afterdowningstreet.org

#1. Cheney manipulated intelligence to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States by fabricating a threat of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction to justify the use of the United States Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests.

(H Res 333 does not mention, but it is also relevant, that Cheney knew he was lying. (Congressman Waxman has posted a searchable database of 51 Cheney lies. See: oversight.house.gov IraqOnTheRecord/index.asp? Speaker=Vice+President+Richard +Cheney))

#2: Cheney purposely manipulated the intelligence process to deceive the citizens and Congress of the United States about an alleged relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda in order to justify the use of the United States Armed Forces against the nation of Iraq in a manner damaging to our national security interests.

#3: Cheney has openly threatened aggression against the Republic of Iran absent any real threat to the United States, and done so with the United States proven capability to carry out such threats, thus undermining the national security of the United States.

Additional Charges Not Contained in H Res 333

#4. Cheney led a campaign of retribution against whistleblower Joseph Wilson, including the outing of a covert CIA operative.

(The trial of Scooter Libby has produced overwhelming evidence that Vice President Cheney personally led the campaign to attack Joe Wilson through the media. Cheney's efforts actually exposed her entire covert network, at tremendous cost to the CIA's secret war against terrorism. If Plame's work had been exposed by a double-agent in our government like Aldrich Ames or Robert Hanssen, that person would face prosecution for espionage and treason. The evidence of Cheney's role is more than enough to start an impeachment investigation.)

#5. Cheney led efforts to torture.

#6. Cheney played a key role in setting up illegal spying programs.

(Cheney refuses to comply with a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee: www.democrats.com)

#7. Cheney led manipulation of pre-war intelligence.

(The Libby trial exposed the role of Vice President Cheney's office in manipulating pre-war intelligence to defraud Congress into authorizing the invasion of Iraq. Sworn testimony revealed that Cheney's office managed the evidence of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, all of which proved to be lies. Cheney personally visited the CIA several times before the invasion to pressure the CIA to distort pre-war intelligence. And Cheney exerted pressure on the GOP former chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee to stall an investigation into the Bush administration's use of flawed intelligence on Iraq, according to the new chairman, Senator Jay Rockefeller. On July 14, 2003, Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity laid out the case for asking Bush to request Cheney's resignation.)

#8. Cheney created the secret Energy Task Force which operated in defiance of open-government laws.

#9. Cheney's lawyer, David Addington, advocated the "Unitary Executive Theory" which is used by the White House to defy laws duly enacted by Congress and thereby justify dictatorial action.

#10. Cheney directed massive no-bid contracts to his company, Halliburton, and profited from the same illegal war he defrauded the American public to launch. (Give It Back, Dick.)

#11. Cheney increased the danger of climate change.

#12. Cheney Suppressed Evidence in California Energy Crisis Report.

#13. Cheney has been manipulating and misleading about evidence of Iranian nuclear weapons and other justifications for an attack on Iran.

#14. Cheney has refused to comply with a subpoena.

Executive privilege...

Gee, why didn't Richard Nixon think of that?

Oh that's right he did, but it didn't work for him, and it shouldn't work for Bush.

We'll just have to hope that someone in congress has a set of balls, and keeps Bush's feet to the fire.

"We'll just have to hope that someone in congress has a set of balls, and keeps Bush's feet to the fire."

And that is where this will die...at the feet of our ball-less congress.

The old "If he did nothing wrong he has nothing to hide" chestnut.

The Fighty Rightys have been using that one to defend phone taps since Bush decided FISA wasn't worth the paper it was written on.

Next up from the Right-the Administration can't talk publically about a super secret double nought spy like Valerie Plame, after spending years telling us she was only a file clerk.

I'm still wondering how all those Bush voters can look at thermselves in a mirror. I know Cheney doesn't show up in his mirror, but I mean the rest of them.

"I am greatly concerned about the chilling effect that compliance with the committee's subpoena would have on future White House deliberations and White House cooperation with future Justice Department investigations," Mukasey wrote to Bush.

would that chilling effect be anything like what we see now where the White House blows-off deadlines for submitting reports (or just never submits them), or refuses to open an email lest they become responsible for the contents (like emails from the EPA), or lying under oath and obstructing investigations?

How much more chilled can these people get?
Hell, Dick Cheney thinks he's the fourth branch of the federal government!

The old "If he did nothing wrong he has nothing to hide" chestnut.
We shall see how the shoe fits when it is on the other foot.

It's already been on the other foot. The neo-cons here used that argument to justify warrantless wiretaps of U.S. citizens during the FISA bill deliberations.

This administration wants unlimited access into your private life but, they don't want the citizens of this country to have access to records that should be part of public record.

It's the neo-con way!

Come January I expect to see a lot of GWB Administration right wingers suddenly deciding to move over seas to avoid prosecution. No way President Obama will let this flimsy exploitation of EP stand.

No way President Obama will let this flimsy exploitation of EP stand.

Let's hope so. Then again, he could pretty well get away with anything and the Right would have to say, okay, we did it first.

I expect President Mcsame's first act would be to pre-pardon anybody who set foot in the WH or West Wing since january 2001.

More waste of time and energy and money from the do-nothing congress.

More waste of time and energy and money from the do-nothing congress.

Still beats 12 bill a month for Iran's new pet, iraq.

besides, its just the drip drip dripping of Mcsame's defeat as Obama continues to hang Bush around his neck like a dead albatross.

Which is an insult to dead albatrosses. The Dems can parlay the investigations and trials right through the 2010 mid-terms.

"No way President Obama will let this flimsy exploitation of EP stand."

FF!

armitage was the proven leak; why hasn't he been arrested?

I thought Cheney would talk to Congress in a closed session. Without the bitter, angry, worthless dems trying to exploit their power for campaign and political gains. I know most here want the circus environment and would love more ammo for the Boy Wonder. But as usual Bush and Company prove what amateurs the other side is and will never face any day in court. Or Congress for that matter.

More waste of time and energy and money from the do-nothing congress.

So are you asying you wish they had the balls to investigate and indict the criminal that you voted for twice?

Being that the Attorney General is part of the Judicial Branch he is not privileged to the claim of "executive privilege". Maybe someone in the Congress will stand up and say so....but I doubt it. They're all just a bunch of spineless lemmings.

So are you asying you wish they had the balls to investigate and indict the criminal that you voted for twice?

"If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?"

Aye, there's the rub.

That ain't the point of it ace.

did they leave her out to dry or not?

Plame is as much an undercover agent as my granny. The bitch is looking for money and the democrates are scraping the bottom of the barrel for an issue.

"We'll just have to hope that someone in congress has a set of balls, and keeps Bush's feet to the fire."

The person in Congress whose responsibility it is to begin reining Chimpy in was born without those particular organs.

Literal or figurative.

OzzieOs merely dismisses Plame as a money grubbing "bitch". LOL. And he wonders why no one takes him seriously?

........this administration did everything short of putting their Party Youth in brown shirts and marching them goosestepping to burn Democrats' houses down.......

.......man.....our constitution came this close to being "permanently amended" and sent to sleep with the fish........

A Recent Conversation at the White House....

She outed herself......Wilson, Valerie E. Ms contributed $1,000.00 on 4/22/1999 to (D) President GORE 2000 INC, using Brewster-Jennings & Assoc.

CASE CLOSED!

if this is covert....we are screwed!!!!

"Wilson, Valerie E. Ms contributed $1,000.00 on 4/22/1999 to (D) President GORE 2000 INC, using Brewster-Jennings & Assoc."

I guess I missed the part where it says "Ms. Wilson is currently a covert operative for the CIA and Brewster-Jennings is a cover company."

Her contribution is public record.

ACLUSUX-
Whom was she supposed to list as her employer?

BETELG...don't struggle with this...she listed her employer and she didn't pay in cash.

Not that it's really noteworthy, ACLU, but you completely missed the point of Sanantonio's post.

"armitage was the proven leak; why hasn't he been arrested?"

After all this time, you still haven't read the law?!?

I'll ask you again, ACLU. Given that she was ostensibly employed by the CIA front company (Brewster Jennings), by whom was she to say she was employed?

"Wilson, Valerie E. Ms contributed $1,000.00 on 4/22/1999 to (D) President GORE 2000 INC, using Brewster-Jennings & Assoc."

Um...not to put too fine a point on it, but...exactly how does that out her?

Danforth - it does the opposite, of course. It lends credibility to the existence of a company that only existed in reality as a front for NOC agents.

I know this is probably and exercise in futility, but...

One is required by law to list one's employer when making a political contribution. She listed Brewster-Jennings - for all intents and purposes a legitimate business.

She did not say "CIA front"

So maybe you can explain, exactly what would make someone (anyone) see a Ms. Valerie Wilson of Brewster-Jenning, Inc. on a list of political contributors and go "Well looky here, that there must be a covert CIA agent working for a dummy front company! Shazaam!!"

Both BETLEG and SanAntonioRogue were complaining about the hail damage on Valere Plame Wilsons thighs.

Other than that, they don't know much.

Ooh. Intelligent and insightful retort Sux.

But then, it doesn't actually take much to know more than you, obviously, since you can't seem to respond on point.

Other than that, they don't know much.

Which apparently is infinitely more than you know. You didn't even have the sense to just disappear after having your ass handed to you.

Yav...your vote for Kucinich has been registered. It's nap time....get your pillow.

YAV-
Just pulverizing the brain and brain stem doesn't immediately work. Their fingers continue to type for several minutes after that.

Still no response on point? Lame.

Oh, and Dennis Kucinich IS my Congressman and he will receive my vote. Just so you know.

Sux,

The CIA, the Republican prosecutor, and the jury all agreed Plame was covert.

Who agrees with you?

"Who agrees with you?"

Rush & Hannity! Rush & Hannity!

You'll notice the change, though. Since the brain and its contents where smattered all over the wall, the fingers kept typing, but the train of thought was of course gone. Instead you get a tantrum.

How long do "ACLUSUX" tantrums usually last?

Well, this one for almost 3 years now.

A covert operative used her MAIDEN NAME and a "covert CIA company....address....phone number...etc" on public record????????

WOW!!!! That must be really deep cover.

In 1999!!!!

But the hail damage bit was funny too.

Read the links--Val outed herself

Everyone knew she worked for the CIA--

And they--the Wilson's are pissed because Joe is such a dickhead--but I digress..

article.nationalreview.com

Judge doesn't know her status--

article.nationalreview.com

And this best of all the email she sent to get her husband the job to go to Niger--to her bosses--

As part of its investigation into pre-war intelligence, the Senate committee interviewed Mrs. Wilson, as well as some of her colleagues at the CIA. The committee also reviewed CIA documents about the Niger uranium affair. In his letter, Westmoreland asked Waxman to ask the Senate committee for the full text of Mrs. Wilsons interview with Senate investigators. Westmoreland also asked for the full text of Ms. Plames February 12, 2002 email/memo to her boss regarding sending her husband, Joseph Wilson, to Niger.--

Westmoreland is attempting to learn more about the origin of Joseph Wilsons trip a question that was perhaps less clear after Valerie Plame Wilsons testimony than before. Testifying before the House, Mrs. Wilson said the story began on February 12, 2002, when a young junior officer who worked for me came to me very concerned, very upset. She had just received a telephone call on her desk from someone, I dont know who, in the Office of the Vice President, asking about this report of this alleged sale of yellowcake uranium from Niger to Iraq.--

article.nationalreview.com

A CIA front company operates in every way as a normal business. Its not like in old movies where there is a sign on the front door, but if you go in there's nothing behind the door.

So I ask you again, what is there about an employee's name and employer name on a contributors list that would make someone look at it and go, oh, she must be covert CIA and the company a fake CIA front?

"And they--the Wilson's are pissed because Joe is such a dickhead-"

Maybe they should just have gone ahead and shot him in the back then, huh Murphy.

ACLU-
re: A covert operative used her MAIDEN NAME and a "covert CIA company....address....phone number...etc" on public record????????

WOW!!!! That must be really deep cover.

Yeah. See, the CIA had this funny idea that they would use real people with real names and identities as operatives. They then created front companies for their operations overseas. Companies that were intended to seem as if they really existed.

Crazy, that.

(ACLU : here's the less polite version: you are the stupidest person I've met all day)

You see--

When the administration--any administration is attacked and called liars in an OP ED--anyone would get kinda' pissed--at least to the point to defend yourself and find out WHO JOE was.

Since all he did was clean the toilets as ambassador of wherever in Africa--and the guy was claiming that CHENEY sent him to NIGER for this top secret toilet cleaning assignment...

When the reporter calls Rove he tells the reporter to lay off this and DON"T get caught up with this fiasco. Rove NEVER talked about Plame--

But she herself sent the email to get her bosses to send dear old JOE to Niger. He has lots of contacts with the other maintenance people.

And when the administration finds out that Valerie is the reason Joe went to Niger--They realize that JOE got the job because of his wife.

That is the crucks of the matter--the Wilsons are pissed because they got busted sending Joe on a mission to clean toilets again in Africa.

Everyone knew in Washington cocktail circles that Joe and Valerie were married and now they knew she got JOE the secret assignment--which Cheney had nothing to do with--until that assinine OP ED piece that was a hit job on the administration.

Murphy-
re: "Everyone knew she worked for the CIA--"

Find me a specific neighbor or family member (aside from her husband) who has said they knew?

Just one.

'Cause frankly, the blanket statement that "everyone knew" doesn't really fly until I have an example or two.

And you don't have even one.

SanAntonioRogue...when it comes to this issue...which is a dead horse...the truth was out before Bush was in office.

Just like the "unjust war" that congress and the senate continues to fund.

The only embarrassment is the media and their biased agenda.

Brush your teeth before you go to bed.

Maybe they should just have gone ahead and shot him in the back then, huh Murphy.

Posted by SanAntonioRogue at 2008-07-16 10:16 PM

No that would be something Kerry would do..

And the real QUESTION WAS---

Who sent JOE to Niger? Because Cheney didn't have anything to do with the secret assignment to the toilet duties --as Joe claimed in his OP ED piece.

They answered JOE's WIFE--

Novak looked up Joe Wilson is WHO'S WHO and guess who was listed??

VALERIE PLAME...

la di da...

Murphy-
Did it say she was a CIA agent in "WHO'S WHO"?

"And the real QUESTION WAS---

Who sent JOE to Niger?"

Valerie Wilson testified that she did not suggest him for the mission, but rather that she was approached about it and agreed to act as go between on the issue.

"But she herself sent the email to get her bosses to send dear old JOE to Niger."

Here is the text of that E-mail for your edification. Please show us where it contradicts her testimony in any way.

"The report forwarded below has prompted me to send this on to you and request your comments and opinion. Briefly, it seems that Niger has signed a contract with Iraq to sell them uranium. The IC [Intelligence Community] is getting spun up about this for obvious reasons. The embassy in Niamey has taken the position that this report can't be true they have such cozy relations with the GON [Government of Niger] that they would know if something like this transpired.

So where do I fit in? As you may recall, [redacted] of CP/[office 2] recently approached my husband to possibly use his contacts in Niger to investigate [a separate Niger matter]. After many fits and starts, [redacted] finally advised that the station wished to pursue this with liaison. My husband is willing to help, if it makes sense, but no problem if not. End of story.

Now, with this report, it is clear that the IC is still wondering what is going on my husband has good relations with both the PM and the former minister of mines, not to mention lots of French contacts, both of whom could possibly shed light on this sort of activity. To be frank with you, I was somewhat embarrassed by the agency's sloppy work last go-round, and I am hesitant to suggest anything again. However, [my husband] may be in a position to assist. Therefore, request your thoughts on what, if anything, to pursue here. Thank you for your time on this."

I thought that Valerie Plame was just a secretary/paper-shuffler for CIA.

How did she then manage to fanagle an ambassadorship for her husband from such an unimportant position?

Murphy-
BTW, you said that "Everyone knew she worked for the CIA--", but haven't named anyone who said they knew before they heard it through the Bush administration.

No one.

Not a one.

Nada.

Zilch.

Valerie Plame was a fluffer!

Murphy-
It also doesn't help that after Wilson's op-ed, the Bush admin. said the uranium from Africa "sixteen words" in his SoTU speech should have been withdrawn, and then Tenet resigned and was given the medal of freedom.

End of story

There is your answer San---

Val got her husband the assignment and that is the perverbial "rub" for the entire case.

Besides, Waxman being the ugliest man on the planet needs to feel important..

Sarasmo--cleaning toilets in Africa is not that important. But as you are looking at this outside the fishbowl.

Joe had no business going to Niger except the cabal in the CIA to embarrass the POTUS after the SOTU address. (and those 16 words crapola)

But they got their war, or as Ahmed Chalabi put it:

"We are heroes in error. As far as we're concerned, we've been entirely successful. That tyrant Saddam is gone and the Americans are in Baghdad. What was said before is not important...."

en.wikipedia.org

Did you read the links?

Betel--I said WA DC coktail parties--they wree quite the couple--neighbors not included.

You saw the Vanity Fair Cover photo?

www.jimgilliam.com

Really--really--I mean really undercover..LOL

What a joke they are!

"Val got her husband the assignment and that is the perverbial "rub" for the entire case."

You're becoming more and more incapable of telling the truth.

"As you may recall, [redacted] of CP/[office 2] recently approached my husband to possibly use his contacts in Niger to investigate [a separate Niger matter]."

It says plain as the ever-growing nose on your face that someone else approached Wilson about the mission.

And Betel--what exactly does Chalabi have to do with the tea in China??

"You saw the Vanity Fair Cover photo?"

You mean the one that appeared LONG after she was outed and had to be reassigned?

"to embarrass the POTUS after the SOTU address. (and those 16 words crapola)"

Those "16 words" were retracted AFTER we went to war and they had served their purpose, and you're concerned primarily with a plot to "embarass" W?

You're a sick motherfucker.

'night.

San--VALERIE PUSHED THE FRIGGIN ISSUE TO HAVE JOE GO TO NIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But for Valerie--Joe would not have gone--

"What is my role in this?" REDACTED--wonder what the heck that means???

Valerie got him the job --get over it!

"Valerie got him the job --get over it!"

Unless you can show ANY evidence of that, I'll have to continue to assume you are once again a liar.

Murphy-
re: "Betel--I said WA DC coktail parties--they wree quite the couple--neighbors not included."

So do any of these articles give even one name of someone who says they knew?

What, not a single one?

That's odd.

"Joe had no business going to Niger except the cabal in the CIA to embarrass the POTUS after the SOTU address."

Whatever it takes to make you feel better, dear.

Wrong Betel--

The British still stand by that statement and in fact!!!!!!!!

Joe proved that Iraq was there trying to do some trading--the only shit Niger has to trade was yellowcake.

The Plame issue is a dead horse==DOA..

The original comment stands--

More waste of time and energy and money from the do-nothing congress.

Posted by MURPHY at 2008-07-16 04:26 PM

"What is my role in this?" REDACTED--wonder what the heck that means?"

Well, you silly woman, anyone with even marginal reading and comprehension skills can see that the "redacted" is a person's name.

Good grief you are thick.

Sanantonio-
C'mon now, dude. Can't you imagine how embarrassing it was for the President to have to withdraw a reckless claim he made to sell us the war?

Poor guy.

Mushroom cloud, anyone?

"The British still stand by that statement and in fact!!!!!!!!"

Our gov't doesn't. Bush doesn't. Tenet doesn't.

And they didn't then.

That's why they apologized and retracted it, and why Tenet resigned.

Joe found that Niger was approached by Iraq for TRADING PURPOSES--

The only trading that Niger had was Yellowcake--they have nothign else.

The UN mandate was that Niger couldn't trade--they reported the ENVOY of IRAQ to the UN.

Go google it yourself..

And SAN--

I am asking an honest question--

If Valerie was such a COVERT agent and couldnt be exposed and the whole operation was such a secret....

WHY DID VALERIE'S EMAIL GET PUBLISHED??

Why wasn't SHE REDACTED?????

Hmmmmmm--??

BTW, Murphy-
Have you come up with a name of anyone who's said they knew Plame was CIA?

And yet "everyone knew"?

Curious, that.

Well, Quelle farking suprise.

Bush invokes privilege?

Ha! That elitist cum-drunk boozehound has been invoking privilege his entire miserable life.

How the fuck do you think he managed to stay out of 'Nam?

How the fuck did he get away with being an AWOL coke-head ANG?

How did he get rich Saudis to pay into his FAIL-assed oil concern?

How did he get to be POTUS?

Sorry, wot's that? Murphy has a question?

VALERIE PUSHED THE FRIGGIN ISSUE TO HAVE JOE GO TO NIGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More of a declaration, really.

Niger? Puh-lease.

Val had not the authorisation to send Joe.

She was consulted during the process but she neither originated nor ultimately sent Joe to Niger.

The Niger yellowcake story was a known lie that BushCo used to manipulate public opinion through fear.

Apparently it worked so well on Murphy she's still buying into it.

Sad is that.

Be Well.

Well gosh then, I just have to wonder why the entire US government, from Bush on down has repudiated the claim and retracted the passage from the SOTU?

I guess they didn't consult you.

I am asking an honest question--

If Valerie was such a COVERT agent and couldnt be exposed and the whole operation was such a secret....

WHY DID VALERIE'S EMAIL GET PUBLISHED??

Why wasn't SHE REDACTED?????

Hmmmmmm--??

Posted by MURPHY at 2008-07-16 11:00 PM | Reply | Flag:

Are you fucking serious?

My god, you are too stupid to remember to breathe. How can you type?

"WHY DID VALERIE'S EMAIL GET PUBLISHED??"

It was published AFTER THE FACT. It came out as part of the testimony before the Congressional Committee hearings on the matter.

*eyes rolling in abject disbelief at this woman

Sorry. That was rude. My bad.

Go read the links about the timeline and the email--

Valerie is busted and so is JOe--

She pushed to get him some goofball assignment

Joe gets to go--

Why not send a CIA "Agent"??

Why JOe??

Why did JOE LIE about CHENEY sending him to Niger?

Why is that??

Joe said Checney sent him to Niger--WHY LIE About that??

Just answer

Why the CIA didn't send a CIA agent

AND why Joe in his report--which was never written that JOE CLAIMS CHENEY sent him to Niger.

The whole BS bullshit falls apart..

You can't answer that..

(just kill me)Show me the quote where Wilson said that Dick Cheney personally sent him.

Jesus, do you ever check out the truthiness of any of the shit you swallow?

(eg, "everyone knew", but no one says they knew...)

How did Valerie get anyone a job? I thought she was nothing more than a secretary.

Or was that last year?

Joe claims Cheney sent him on the assignment..See OP ED or after...

That is a LIE!

Valerie and Redacted sent him there..

To clean toilets--;o)

And when a reporter asks anyone to confirm who sent Joey to Niger--they answer--his wife!

Novak looks up Wilson's wife in WHO WHO

And find Valerie Plame..

That is how this whole POS got started.

"Joe claims Cheney sent him on the assignment..See OP ED or after..."

And the damning, devastating quote where Wilson says this is????????......????????

Can I see it, pretty please?

Pretty,pretty pretty please.....:)

With sugar on top?

And can I pretty pretty pretty please have just one name of someone who claims they knew Plame was CIA before the Bush admin or Novak outed her, since "everyone knew"?

"She pushed to get him some goofball assignment"

So you keep saying, yet offer no substantiation at all. Facts in evidence (literally) say you are wrong.

"Why did JOE LIE about CHENEY sending him to Niger?"

He didn't. Period. Following is EXACTLY what he said about that in his OpEd piece.

"In February 2002, I was informed by officials at the Central Intelligence Agency that Vice President Dick Cheney's office had questions about a particular intelligence report. While I never saw the report, I was told that it referred to a memorandum of agreement that documented the sale of uranium yellowcake -- a form of lightly processed ore -- by Niger to Iraq in the late 1990's. The agency officials asked if I would travel to Niger to check out the story so they could provide a response to the vice president's office."

Which lie do you want to throw out next?

OH - musn't forget this...

The Senate Intelligence Commitee's account presented in its 2004 review of prewar weapons intelligence on Iraq, matches Wilson's.

A July 22, 2003, Newsday article quoted an unidentified senior intelligence official who said: "They [the officers asking Wilson to check the uranium story] were aware of who she [Plame] was married to, which is not surprising. ... There are people elsewhere in government who are trying to make her look like she was the one who was cooking this up, for some reason."

The Los Angeles Times reported on July 15, 2004, that an unnamed CIA official confirmed that Plame was not responsible for the CIA's decision to send Wilson to Niger, saying: "Her bosses say she did not initiate the idea of her husband going. ... They asked her if he'd be willing to go, and she said yes."

Also matches her testimony and the documentation.

Hmmmmm.

NEXT!

Murphy, with all respect due you, you're stuck in circular reference.

"To clean toilets--;o)"

She seems to think that if she types a cute little winky face it somehow excuses her dishonesty and everyone will forget.

Fuck executive priviledge. These bastards work for us(so I've been told). This asshole should be arrested and given Manson for a cellmate.

Sanantonio-
She will (just watch), and that's all that's important.

Murphy- I didn't think it was possible for me to lose more respect for your political "knowledge".

I was wrong.

Wilson never unequivocally stated that Cheney sent him to Niger or that he reported back to Cheney.

But he sure as hell didn't say his wife had recommended him for the trip.

You should understand that his reference to "the adminstration" was to Cheney, et al--The whole story was tha the Bush Administration was forced to deny that they ever sent Joe to clean toilets.

See Meet the Press around July 2003

ABC World News Tonight July 2003 and

Dana Bash July 2003 CNN

Chicago Sun-Times Jule 2003

Daily Telegraph (London) called Wilson the "CIA MAN"

The Union Telegraph reported that Joe went at the request of the VP Cheney..

WACompost said that Bush ignored Wilson's findings about Niger July 2003

And let's not forget about the LA SLIME Robert Scheer called Wilson the "Mysterious envoy" sent to Niger "under Pressure from Cheney" and "Wilson reported back the facts to Cheney" July 8 2003

Bianca Jagger even got into it==with John Gibson on Fox July 9 2003..

And what is fantastic is that JOE was on Kerry's team for POTUS in 2003.

No conflict of interest there. It is pretty hard to prove a negative with Joey.

And if JOE wasn't sent by Cheney--who was he sent by??

Joe just went on his own--because he is such a great American?

He set this up and that is why the reporters all asked the administration who sent Joe??

Joe said "his experience with the administration in the months leading up to the war, I have little choice to conclude that some of the intelliegence related to Iraq's nuclear weapons progran was twisted to exaggerate the Iraqi threat."

OP ED 2003

Problem was Joe had NO experience with the adminstration--at all..

Does this not make any kind of sense??

Joe is a circle talker...

I am outa' here--

Later until tomorrow... ;o)

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN ON THE JEWS

From the written records of CHARLES PINCKNEY of South Carolina, of the proceedings during the drafting of the Constitution in 1789 concerning the statement of BENJAMIN FRANKLIN at the convention concerning Jewish immigration. (Original in the Franklin Institute, Philadelphia.)

"There is a great danger for the United States of America. That great danger is the Jew. Gentlemen , in whichever land the Jews have settled, they have depressed the moral level and lowered the degree of commercial honesty. They have created a State within a State, and when they are opposed, they attempted to strangle the nation financially as in the case of Portugal and Spain."

"For more than 1700 years they have lamented their sorrowful fate, namely that they were driven out of the motherland; but gentlemen, if the civilized world today should give them back Palestine as their property , they would immediately find pressing reasons for not returning there. Why? Because they are vampires and cannot live on other vampires. They cannot live among themselves. They must live among Christians and others who do not belong to their race."

"If they are not excluded from the United States by the Constitution, within less than a hundred years they will stream into our country in such numbers that they will rule and destroy us, and change our form of government for which Americans have shed their blood and sacrificed life, property and personal freedom. If the Jews are not excluded, within 200 years our children will be working in the fields to feed the Jews, while they remain in the Counting House gleefully rubbing their hands."

"I warn you, gentlemen, if you do not exclude the Jew forever, your children`s children will curse you in your grave."

"Their ideas are not those of Americans. The leopard cannot change his spots. The Jews are a danger to this land, and if they are allowed to enter, they will imperil its institutions."

"They should be excluded by the Constitution."

Now that you guys have enough to keep you busy--

I am outa' here.

Night..

Yeah, let's tell the loose lips in Congress they have 550 tons of yellow cake before we can secure it.

Yep, We all know they can keep a secret.

"Now that you guys have enough to keep you busy--"

But dear Murphy. I provided you with the EXACT quote of what Wilson said about who sent him. He DID NOT say anything about Cheney sending him. Why didn't you respond to that?

You cite (but of course don't link) other sources that said Cheney sent him. But Wilson DID NOT.

You claimed Plame sent him, yet couldn't provide one single bit of evidence that supported that. I showed you her testimony, the internal CIA memo on the subject, other sources from with the Agency - all of which indicate someone else suggested Wilson and she agreed to ask him if he would do it.

Truly sad to see someone who has constructed a convenient little narrative in her mind and clings to it desperately... facts be damned!

Joe Wilson is a lying sack of shit.

That said, to categorize 'the leak' as anything other than retribution is delusional.

Adding more fuel to the fire for both sides is the CIA's abysmal track-record as an intelligence-gathering agency - this dates back to the good old days of the transition from the OSS to the CIA with Allen Dulles as the director.

So, who do we believe?

Well, based on what we've got, I'd say it's a tie. Hmmmm....Well, Valerie is hot, so I guess the tie-breaker goes to the hot chick! Fuck Bush.

Rogue,

Just a reminder - Clinton pulled every trick in the 'Executive privelege' book to block his investigation. Upon doing so he was cheered by an awful lot of lefties. Damn that blue dress!

Impeach Bush and Cheney!

Impeach Bush and Cheney!

At this point, I don't think it's going to happen.

"he could pretty well get away with anything and the Right would have to say, okay, we did it first.

Gee, why didn't Richard Nixon think of that?

Are you clowns willfully ignorant or just plain ignorant?

I realize that this is just on more Bash Bush thread, where you never tire of posting the same old shit. But in this case .....

.... every president has used Executive Privilege to hide embarassing things. It has nothing to do with party affiliation, as we've seen with Kennedy Johnson, Nixon, Carter, etc.

Are you so completely out of things to say that all you can do is regurgitate the same old partisan hackery? By this time next year all you will have to say is:

McCain's Fault!

"to categorize 'the leak' as anything other than retribution is delusional."
"based on what we've got, I'd say it's a tie."

Are you kidding?

Please explain: Treasonously outing an undercover CIA operative during wartime and then commuting the sentence of the guy who feloniously lied to protect you...is equal to what?!?

.... every president has used Executive Privilege to hide embarassing things. It has nothing to do with party affiliation, as we've seen with Kennedy Johnson, Nixon, Carter, etc.

You're right, they all do. Except there is the small detail that the Attorney General is part of the Judicial Branch and is not privilege to the blanket of Executive Privilege. Just a tiny little detail I'm sure no one will have the balls to point out.

Murphy, you can't cite a single source of reference for nearly every point you make, most of those points have been proven false with cited sources, yet you cling to it tooth and nail. Why?

SNAOBAMA:

"ALL OF WHICH INDICATES SOMEONE ELSE SUGGESTED WILSON AND SHE AGREED TO ASK HIM IF HE WOULD GO"

You must have been a very sheltered individual growing up. You dum ASSHOLE. Get out in the real world. That is not how organizations work. Plame would not have been asked because she was married to the jerk off. Wilson has a BOSS! His boss would instruct him to go. Wake up ASSHOLE!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Ahahahahahahahahahaha!

Tell me more about the inner workings of the CIA, Oozie.

Oh God, make it stop, make it stop!

Can you invoke executive privilege to cover up breaking the law?

Shouldn't that negate privilege?

It's one thing to stand by your rights re self incrimination as expressed by the 5th ammendment, but another thing altogether to claim privilege protects you from testifying at all.

SANOBAMA: Stop bending over and it will Stop!

.... every president has used Executive Privilege to hide embarassing things. It has nothing to do with party affiliation, as we've seen with Kennedy Johnson, Nixon, Carter, etc.

Other than the murderer Johnson, and the crook and liar Nixon, You are full of shit.

None of those Presidents had treasonous secrets to hide like Bush. Let's see your links to Carter using Exective Privilege--Let's see your links to Kennedy using Executive Privilege. Provide your link or STFU liar. Simple isn't it.

;-)

Oh Oozie, stop fantasizing. Its really, really creepy.

I know this spun off to talk about Joe and Val, but the issue of invoking executive priviledge is a lawyer's game.

Any president, past, present, or future, is going to have their lawyers use every defense available. If they don't, the laywers aren't doing their jobs.

I don't accept the "what's to hide if your innocent?" argument.

The 5th is a right. But, the moment you speak, your words can be twisted. There are times you shouldn't speak. Not that you won't tell the truth. But, the truth will be used against you.

Better to declare the standards.
I don't remember.
I can't recall.
etc.

SANOBAMA: Is that the best you can come up with?

With you, it doesn't take much.

But I do admire you, Oozie. You keep showing up, saying stupid stuff, embarrassing yourself, and then coming back for more. If it had been up to me, you would have graduated AT the top of your class, not just NEAR it.

"Better to declare the standards.
I don't remember.
I can't recall.
etc."

In other words--lie. Typical republican.

The GOP looks stupid, impeachment on a simple blowjob.

ASS -- Anyone, even gov't employees may make contributions to anyone they would like. In her case, she knew who was the jerk and who wasn't so she ponied up $1,000. Big deal. Does acting within the limits of one's rights mean that national security and expensive anti-WMD programs can be compromised? I do not think so.
