I miss Hans :-(

...but, the cats have him now!

What happened to Hans??

Nothing bad I hope.

Hey if anyone out there fancies themselves as an investor, would you consider selling an August put at $7.50 for GM? Surely GM won't drop $2 a share before August 15. This is a fascinating stock option chain to look through.

August GM options

Well, regretably, I caused Hans to have a violent anuerysm explode in his brain which made his skull rupture. He was dead before he hit the ground. He kept accusing me of also being poster santino_c.....

How does a farmer transport his cows?

In a mooooving van.

Get it, a mooooving van.
Cause a cow goes moo, oh never mind.

Treat them well, they are a boon if you're trying to survive in the woods.

Not if your naked.

Next time go to the appliance area. They are the only sales people who have a clue.

I cut up my Sears card 16 years ago and told Sears to shove it, but my advice still holds.

I don't know who this Hans person is, but I'm sure glad he doesn't post here anymore.

...."I know you"......

don't we "CRAIG" :-)

But if your going to take a dump in a stump watch out for centipedes.

Whatever happened to all of those internet radio show people, they all seem to have disappeared?

Don't wake them up, Tax. This place has enough self promoters.

Briwo still posts but not during work hours...

Rev, Hans, Trees seem to have quit posting...

I just pissed all over the toilet seat in one of the shit-houes even though there are two urinals.
I was going to unroll all of the toilet paper and throw it out but that would have taken too long.
I also wiped a booger on the mirror and spit on the faucet handle.

Don't show up here again until you complete the job in totality in all the shi-houses.....and remember, no job is done until the paperwork is done.

If I were I would have killed my fellow co-workers as soon as the boss left.

You should have left the 'co' out of 'co-workers'.

Maybe they work, you try to look like you are.

There's a difference.

They don't work either. We have "jobs" where we can be as pathetic as we want. As you are well aware, it's a lot of fun.

So why did Fav-re go whining to Eyejob VanSistern instead of the 4 letter network?

AU - Sorry for busting your chops yesterday about your mood - I do understand now.

Hey, man. No problem at all

:-)

President Bush said Tuesday the nation's troubled financial system is "basically sound"

Oil prices have doubled under Clinton from $10 to $20 a barrel. Elect me and I'll lower prices.

Iraq and now Iran are a threat to the security of our great nation.

The State of our Nation is strong in spite of rising deficits, falling wages, and my failure in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and with al Qaeda.

Mission Accomplishitfucked.

We don't negotiate with terrorists, unless they already have the bomb. If Clinton or Obama suggest a policy they are unpatriotic and don't support the troops. If I do the same thing, its because as protector in chief I'm the decider or all my other options have run out.

HARDY, HAR, HAR

The last laugh and full consequences fall apon the suckers that voted for me or stood by silently while SCOTUS installed me, contrary to the Federalist's own guiding principals of States Rights.

Depends on what your definition of "basically" is...

The last laugh and full consequences fall apon the suckers that voted for me or stood by silently while SCOTUS installed me, contrary to the Federalist's own guiding principals of States Rights.

All other arguments about the problems with the '00 election aside, I think the SCOTUS actually upheld state's rights in this instance, saying that Florida law should prevail, which said it was up to the Florida Secretary of State, Katherine Harris, to decide when to end the recount. But I could be wrong.

Regardless of the definition of "basically", what Shrub said flies in the face of everything Bernanke and Paulson are saying and doing. A system stripped of regulations in law and practice by "Conservatives" is collapsing in a tidal wave of fraud. Apparently he hasn't talked to these people recently or maybe he forgot what they said.

Harris announced a result, consistent with her conflicting position as Chair of the Committee to Elect a Moron.

But according to Florida State Law the results should have triggered an automatic recount, which Baker and his planeload of lawyers and thugs did everything possible to halt, ultimately succeeding in that effort, contrary to the well written legal opinion of the Florida Supreme Court.

"I don't know who this Hans person is, but I'm sure glad he doesn't post here anymore." - CRAIG

CRAIG, Mrs Oohrah and I had the chance to sit down with Hans for lunch this past winter while we were vacationing in St Augustine. Hans drove quite a way to meet us at Caddy Shack at our resort to chat on Super Bowl Sunday (a day which will live in infamy for me & my Pats brethren).

While Hans and I see the world through virtually oppposite ends of the spectrum, I found him to be an intelligent, funny and down to earth guy. We talked politics (after Mrs Oohrah went back to the room) but were also able to cover a wide array of personal topics as well.

I consider him a friend - a relationship begun solely via the Drudge. He and I sparred for a short while when I first came to the Drudge in '06... but pretty quickly we both realized we could discuss issues without the flame wars - and both preferred that path.

His style of posting isn't my style. Still, I think the Drudge is worse off for his absence. I hope he'll rejoin us when he sees fit. Same for others who've dropped off for various reasons. I myself will likely be tailing off a bit as winter draws closer.

While I'm on here today I plan to comment on the teacher/student sex story in a while. I was a bit surprised at some responses to my "surprise" at the fact a straight music teacher was involved.

But quickly, I get occasional inquiries about our son Bob and how he's doing in the Marines. He & Matt turned 21 yesterday. Bob couldn't get leave to fly home from Pendleton.

I spoke with him last night. He's pissed he couldn't come home but he's very pleased and proud of something he's working toward. I might get the terminology wrong so maybe someone will correct me.

Bob's an enlisted guy - straight out of high school. He's a Lance Corporal. He is working on the HIMARS www.youtube.com mobile missle launcher. He's the guy who sets the coordinates for where the GPS guided bombs are sent.

What's new is that he's the first Lance Corporal in Marine history to be asked to sit for the test to be a commander of the HIMARS. It's a $3 million piece of equipment. Apparently it can easily be damaged - and if so he has to write a letter to Congress. So it's a big job and evidently something they don't entrust to anyone below a Corporal.

He hopes to fly back to NC in August. As a dad it made me happy... last night Matt, Mrs Oohrah and I went out to eat. Earlier that day Matt & Bob had talked on the phone. Bob told Matt that what Bob really wanted for his 21st birthday was to sit down over a beer with me and shoot the sh*t. For any dads reading this, I don't know that you could get a better present - and it isn't our birthday... it's his.

The real question is who is CRAIG who has a seniority of 42 and postings from him are rare? Yet, he acts like he doesn't know who Hans is who posted a lot.

BTW, from sources I understand is as you describe him Oohrah, an intelligent and nice person.

Be heading to St Augustine Beach myself....soon.

Congrats, Oohrah! You must be really proud. That sounds like quite an honor. Seems to me you have 2 very fine sons.

OOHRAH

I've had a couple of experiences myself meeting DR's from the opposite end of the political spectrum.

When two reasonable people talk, you find there's a whole lot more in common that what separates us politically.

Had a great time and some great laughs.

If you're ever down my way I'll buy you and your wife lunch. It's pretty obvious you're a nice person, OOHRAH. I am too (although I don't tolerate right wing jerks with no other redeeming qualities).

BTW OOHRAH

That's a great story about your son. You must be very proud.

I remember the look on my late dad's face (and the moist eyes) every time I stepped off the plane for a visit.

Sounds like you've done a great job raising your kids. And they've got a great dad to boot.

Have a good time on his B-Day!

This is just funny.

AU-
As a rich and greedy Republican I screw over the little people and use the proceeds to fund vacation getaways whenever I desire.

We are Bluegreen owners www.bluegreenonline.com and have stayed at a number of locations nationwide. Where are you? I'd travel a long way for a free meal. :^)

You bet, I'm pleased with how things have turned out. Everyone has issues at different times in their life - and at different times with their kids. But in the end you hope you've done the right things and they turn out OK. Lord knows we're not perfect. We've done the best we knew to do. And that's really all you can ask of a parent, I suppose.

Dow ended under 11000. two weeks ago, the Rightys here said it would be over 13000 and oil would drop.

Of course, they said Bush was a good President, too.

Oohrah,
Very cool. I have a great relationship with my girls and that's about the most important thing in my little world.

Question for all you legal eagles (I know you are out there). I am in the midst of a trial right now, a paralegal from another law firm is being called to testify as to who told her to draw up some deeds, we are asserting attorney-client privilege saying she cannot testify to anything our client told her. However, can opposing counsel have her testify in the negative thereby eliminating everyone BUT our client (ie did Joe Bloggs tell you to draw up the deed - no, did Mrs. Bloggs tell you to draw up the deed - no, ad infinitum until everyone but our client is eliminated). Any ideas? I have substantial case law on the sanctity of attorney-client privilege but can't find anything on testifying in the negative.

Good news Oohrah and I'm sure there are a lot of us here who would wish your sons a great 21st. "Key of the Door" sounds so old-fashioned now...

McCain Ape Rape Joke Recalled By Sources

July 15, 2008 06:37 PM

"News circulated fast late Tuesday afternoon that back in 1986, during his initial run for the Senate, John McCain allegedly told a crude joke about rape involving a woman's affection for Gorilla.

The story, which was reprised on the blog Rum, Romanism and Rebellion before being blasted out by Think Progress, goes like this: In an appearance before the National League of Cities and Towns in Washington D.C., McCain supposedly asked the crowd if they had heard "the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die?"

The punch line: "When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, "Where is that marvelous ape?"

Zat - it is obvious from those pics that there was once water on mars, there in no way that those structures could have been made by anything other than water. They are very exciting photographs.

God Bless America should be our national anthem.

Much more moving, representative of America, and easier to sing to boot.

A British drinking song mixed with militaristic lyrics isn't nearly as appropriate.

Overall, the Democrat has a lead of 50 percent to 42 percent over Republican Sen. John McCain among registered voters nationwide, lifted by a big edge among women, and he has also regained an edge among political independents. But it is Obama's 19-point lead on the economy that has become a particularly steep challenge for McCain.

I guess joementum hasn't finished reading his Economics 101 book yet...

"God Bless America should be our national anthem."

I'm in favor of "Will Jesus Wash the Bloodstains From Your Hands?"
