NPR had a timely interview with Sy Hersh: www.npr.org

I've been assured by the same people who swore George Bush would prevent ethnic cleansing in Iraq with his mighty hand that he would never, never start a war with Iran.

Of course, we need to revisit our definition of "war". If even a fraction of what Hersh states we are doing in Iran is true, we have a de facto state of war with them.

The moral aspects of this I lay aside for the time being. Never got too much traction from those anyway.

So, just as a practical matter, I point out that if actual airstrikes are launched by this country (or Israel) against Iran, the economy of the Unites States will be skinned alive by gas at ten dollars a gallon.

I imagine many millions in this country will suffer then, all the world as if there's a war on.

What comes to my populist mind at the thought of $10.00/gal. gas? Rush Limbaugh bragging last week about how much fuel he burns in a week because he can afford to.

When strong winds come idols are sometimes blown over.

Just heard Hersh on BBC a while back. Sounded like BBC asked the same q's as Ms. Gross did. Could they have dubbed their own voices in between the Hersh responses? Anyway, whether hey had permission from NPR or not, the answers were just as chilling this time around. Essentially, Hersh thinks that the US is spending $300 million for black ops that Congress has no idea about. Apparently Admiral Fallon got wind of the plan and wanted Cheny's people to tell him what was up, and to pause the show, but lost his job instead.

Wonder what Fallon would say about this now?

" Covert operations and AIPAIC drafted bills in both chambers of Congress "

....And how did the mostly DEM Congress vote on these bills?

Just save your pennies, Fredo. You may need a gallon of gas to get a six pack later.

"...And how did the mostly DEM Congress vote on these bills?"

the question to ask is

how many bills have been vetoed by king george II
